New bong thread

JEEAA!!!!

You get what you pay for in the end. My bong is one of the best thingsI have ever bought and also one of the most expensive.

And Preston from Stone Glassworks makes diffys without a hole in the end. Even if they do have a hole in the end it's only used for clearing and makes it clear a lot faster. Usually there's not enough backpressure to work all the slits, AND the hole in the bottom, so I wouldn't worry about it.

The showerheads on my Syn are closed and I love it but I almost wish they were open so it would clear faster but no biggie.

Try a SG gridded diffy that will offer the best filtration out of any diffy as far as I know.

"Cheap $200 bongs"

Uhh you can get a nice piece for around $200 from some companies, it will be a single chamber but that's legit. SG offers stemlines for like $220 but they only ship to Cali.....

But most people don't know the difference between chinese tubing and American or German Schott.

Nice glass has not made it's way to the mainstream yet, and probably never will be. It's a small market niche right now, and you kind of have to be "in the know" to buy a lot of these products. Nice glass will never compete with chinese shit glass because they produce it so cheap, and consumers don't know the difference. Most headshops just buy a shit load of crappy stuff and mark it up outrageously high, they prey on uninformed consumers....which unfortunately is 99%+ of the market.

If anyone is interested in what nice glass looks like head over to:

www.glassdistrict.com

If you know how diffusion works, and how much labor and glass cost it will be easy to understand why this shit is expensive, not to mention way more functional than non-high end glass, just look at all the percs. And that is only the functional side of things. I haven't even touched on worked tubes, in that case you pay for art < function, and it costs an arm and a leg, and a left nut.

What makes a polo shirt more expensive than a generic foot locker shirt? Do you get any more clothed? No. All the intangible qualities-- including but not limited to status symbol, investment value, collection rarity, etc-- associated with high end anything apply to bongs as well.

Youre close but you acting quite immature. You pay for the name, the art, and the functionality. You wont get higher off a toro, but your hits will be fucking awesome.
And saying pieces drag so smooth is a jumble of adjectives. It hits smooth, and has little drag. Some toros will have a good amount of drag and some will have very little, smooth drag idk ive just never heard anyone say that.

You pay for functionality (as stated above). No phire, pure, weed star, gear or any other cheap china bong will clear this quickly and deliver a smooth hit.

I can't wait till I can afford really high end stuff, but I'm still super happy with my Molino Mad Scientist V2.

That might actually be correct, to which I stand corrected. Hasbean's looks really similar now.

Sorry, but still the founder of GD isn't just a guy.

I haven't seen any pics of Hashbean's collection, but I would recognize that custom Toro set anywhere. To my knowledge it's the only King Dub Bub Toro ever made.

I wasnt saying it was just a guy, i said look how important glass is to some people. Totally different.

def not hashbeans collection, def 521s, im pretty sure its the only dub king toro too, someone said he could sell it for thousands.

yeah i was gonna say thats def fivetoone's toro collection. Thats not the only pic of it, its missing the 13/17 worked fire/ice toro.
That collection is waaaaayyyyyyy sicker than any RooR collection.

vapes are in no way better than bongs, they are just a different way of getting high...im biased towards Silver Surfers if we're getting into vapes

I dont know if its any good, im no bong expert.

But my buddy bought a 100$ GEAR bong with a defused 3 part down stem, ice catcher and it was sanded glass. Really nice. We only got to hit it once as he broke it within 4 hours of getting it :(.

Ill post my pipe when i get home from school, its no bong but I like it.

agreed, i love the idea of vaping, get super ripped off a tiny bit of bud, but i loveeeeeee smoking haha. blunts are so fun to do smoke tricks with, and i love taking huge bong rips, and exhaling smoke for 45 seconds haha. my fav is so rip the bong/blunt or whatever, while vaping a little bit, the highest ive ever gotten was off of a couple bowls, and a vape load

i like vapes too, but when nothing comes out of your mouth when you exhale, something irks me. every time i smoke a J or blunt i do a bunch of tricks: french inhale, mushrooms, giant O's, rapid o's, ive gotten quite good at them haha

but i love taking bong rips and exhaling all the smoke, but then for a minute after that while youre normally breathing you still exhale smoke

your slide is nice
the bong looks well built. although i was never a fan of pieces that stayed 100% clear just because you could see them get dirty quick and easy (and thats all they do).
you gotta stay on top of cleaning that shit!

lol im with you here.
bongs are pretty high tech now. we used to be stoked over a double chambered bong, but now we got diffusers, ash catchers....
Hell a Roor, Chong Bong, or an original Zong was the piece to own in high school.
I can't imagine how much some of these beasts cost, $500+ I am sure.

Please correct me if Im wrong as I have little experience with high end glass such as this beautiful modern day DiVinci, but after you spend so much dont bongs just do the same thing? Like Im sure (again with the lack of experience) but after you spend 5000 on a bong, wouldnt the 10grand one do the same thing? I guess its like buying that new Lexus for 500, 000 that should be a lot better for the money.

I dont know, just some thoughts. And before hate comes my way Im not saying that it was a bad purchase, If I had the money I would cop one of these bad boys right quick.

hahaha I was like, oh, I have hit a bong with a brewers logo on it somewhere, but I can't remember where. Then I realized that it was you posting Rabbert. I was fucking gone that night in oshkosh, good times.

when youre paying 1k+( not many bongs go for more than 3k, unless they are huge colabs, with a ton of work.) you pay for the art, youre not paying for the functionality, although that comes with it haha. but when you have a 1k illy coil, with a ton of work form salt, it becomes clear why its so expensive.

but technically, you will get just as high off of a fully worked salt/illy, as you will off your 1foot tall, non diffused, bong.

with an interim bowl... cheapest one i could find at The Joint in Boston, still waiting on a RooR bowl to be shipped to me

Here is my opinion towereds the more expensive side on bongs and people asking why the fuck would you ever spend that much. I probaley smoke 5-10 times a year and would never spend that much money on a bong. I think the best way to explain it is to compare it to jiberish wear. You will be pretty much just as comfterable and warm in a tall tee that you bought from walmart as your jiberish tee but there is a diffrence and in the end your paying for quality and though there may not be a big diffrence, there is a diffrence. So ask yourself why buy jiberish then when you can get a five tall tees for the same price.

decent comparison, also it should be added that, many owners of these super high priced bongs, spend more time smoking, then they do not smoking haha.

haha yeah its definitely true i spend more time smoking than not smoking when im at school. In fact, when im at school i probably spend 85-90% of my waking hours fucked up somehow. i'm not trying to claim, im just saying if you enjoy something that much, having something nice makes it cooler i guess.
But apart from the brand name thing which probably accounts for 75% of the appeal if you can measure that type of thing, I've owned a very large array of bongs and i can assure you the higher end ones are of much better quality. Theyre 2-3x as thick, nearly unbreakable, feel better, and you can tell the glass is boroscilate glass and not cheap china monkey glass.

This.

Got my illadelph this summer, one of the best investments ever, just a beaker to straight with an ice catcher but smokes so well. Not to mention its fallen like over a foot onto concrete and bounced.

some real nice tubes, getting my new glass tomorrow off my friend since my paypal check came today straight tube 18" 7mm thick glass diffuser ice pinches blown by an artist from philly does some work for illadelph ill get pics when I get it super pumped
