The Illusive? You're crazy, or maybe, just maybe, you're uninformed.
Joe-Joe has been around since before there was an around.
At 14, I went to Camp of Champions. My roommate was a friend from another town nearby. I arrived a day early, so Ken and crew from CoC put me in another room with another roommate. Ken said they were, "dealing with him." Apparently, that kid they were dealing with stole his step-dad's credit card, booked a last minute trip to Whistler and one of the final spots in that session.
When I arrived at my room, we immediately hit it off then hit the town, checking out all the fun spots in Whis. You could tell the kid was appreciative of every moment he was spending in Canada.
A few years later, when Sunday River was hosting a rail jam and the set up was less than ideal, that kid grabbed the mic and made everyone laugh. It was one of the more fun rails jams ever, because that kid was the mic, barking like an idiot, and making sure everyone was having a good time.
Years later, on a Boston-based Poor Boyz shoot, the one in which Martini was the breakout star, that same kid shows up to a handrail. Not because he was looking to mooch a scene, or "be cool" or anything like that. No, he showed up because he wanted to help the hustle. That kid is Joey Ciprari and he's one bad ass, respectful dude. Now you know.
