MUTINY - Official Reaction thread

if you wait till the end you can see noah ab;abehedhedbeiodbe try rootbeer for the first time and its pretty fucking funny. Whole movie was fucked tho, so many ridiculous shots. Definitely need to rewatch quite a few more times.

I seriously wonder if he thought he was going to die during that first attempt. Then he just gets up and sends it again. He must need an extra parachute for his massive cajones, holy fuck...

might as well post my opinion.

insane urban skiing but def got boring and repetitive. And like someone else said the whole vibe of the movie revolved around them getting hurt and in trouble. Still like supporting these maniacs though. Shea is nuts. Clayton is just sick and one of my favorite skiers.

great filming too. that one shot of sean jordan riding into the park jump switch was awesome. That cameraman is the man! hardly any shaking and hes flying off that big jump next to Sean.

obviously the riding in mutiny was on another level from anything i've seen before, the sheer disregard for health that came across was nuts, i've never had so many "what the fuck?!" moments in a ski movie before. There are literally too many to list, clayton had some of the most tech shit on huge features, cam just hit features with a ridiculously high risk factor, as with shea. Filming was on point as always,(notably the ariel shots, reminded me of the dark night rises almost, some of those shots of boston were beautiful, and so powerful) although i can't say that i found it to be the same jump that i saw from weight to the eighty six. I enjoyed the sound track, again can't say i disliked the use of one song really.

What didnt win me over was the format of using dates through the season to give structure to the film. i found it difficult going from dates, to individual segments and then bak to dates.

that being said, i'd still rate the film highly, it really is a must see purely for the riding, the fact that it is coupled with such outstanding camera work is a huge bonus and almost as much as a draw in for myself and anybody interested in the media production side of the industry.

All of that being said, im going to have to go ahead and say that i enjoyed the eighty six more, it flowed much better to me, riding still is better than alot of what i've seen elsewhere (maybe that will change this season, ive seen lots of trailers for urban films that look on point) and just all round production value of the eighty six was, and still is top notch in my eyes.

Absolutely astonishing movie..Everyone's parts were just soo

on point

But not to continue the Tonic Jeffer$on dick riding, his part really hit

home(mentally, physically, literally and figuratively)

Being from Maine, the REPRESENTATION Shea puts on for his home state is

UNBELIEVABLE...I have reason to believe that over 50% of his shots were from

Maine locations. Also, being a University of Maine student and recognizing all

the Bangor shots was just...don't even know how to explain...in the words of

rich homie quan..."make you feel some type of way"

Thank you Shea...Thank you Stept. Thank you Steve Stepp for selling Stept productions to Nick in 1999.

If mp4s could be worn out, mine definitely will be, waiting for next years installment. Might even have to buy the DVD.

the syracuse segment, man. when the title came up i was thinking to myself "i wonder if theyll be someplace i recognize". lo and behold, they are crushing the rail on south campus that ive day dreamed of hitting every day for years. my friend lived like 3 doors down from that rail, it was on my list of crazy things to dream about that i could never do, but it was so fucking awesome to see it done.

While I really enjoyed the movie, I couldn't help but think about how pointless doing something like urban skiing is. As a rider you work your ass off all winter, and for what? A three minute segment that will be seen by ten thousand people and then forgotten about?

You aren't going to be making much money, your risk of injury is incredibly high, and how long can you sustain your lifestyle? Five years? And then you leave the sport with a ruined body and no way to provide for your future.

Not really my style of movie but it was still amazing. Just didn't get me pumped to ski like a lot of other movies or edits do

"is that a fish eye?"..."cool"

not sure of the correct phrashing but it was something like that...also it's pretty funny they only used that portion of his "interview" hahaha

I know everyone wants to talk about the urban which was all gnarly, but can someone mention ABM's switch cork 3? A pretty much never been done trick.

Seriously. When I watched the first time I was like "oh, cool trick". Then I was like, "wait, what!?!" and had to rewind it a couple times to confirm what I saw.

Who the fuck is Joey Cipari and why did they put him in the movie? He's like an unnecessary Evan Heath that they threw in there.

cause he's a dope part of their crew. don't you have people in your group that arent necessarily logging bangers or going pro but are an integral part of your skiing life?

firstly, let me do Mr. White do the talking, as he pretty much hits the nail on the head:

Parker White Video Profile from Level 1 on Vimeo.

secondly: sure, people might forget about it as time goes on, but that doesn't mean it's gone. that piece of video that you put together is there FOREVER. and it's something that YOU did, and nobody can ever take that away. and how the fuck can you make the bold assumption that people are going to "leave the sport with a ruined body and no way to provide for their future"? that's just plain fucking ignorant, you don't know them or their circumstances.

thirdly: HOLY FUCK. that was the baddest shit i have ever seen. i don't think i have ever enjoyed a movie so much that made me so fucking sick to my stomach. the sound design was absolutely fucking incredible and the riding as always was top notch. i am officially a stept fanboy.

It is the first ski movie I have seen this year and I already know its going to be better than the rest.

Wasn't nearly a "dark" "horror film" like everyone was saying. I can see where they're coming from, but I think people are a little dramatic. Old news at this point but that was the best urban I've ever seen, Clayton's part really stood out to me. Overall I liked the music, liked the use of natural sounds even more and the filming couldn't have been better (ok I wanted to see that one pov urban shot all the way through!). I loved the different emotions the film made me feel throughout. The only negative I can say is that I felt like the ending would blow me away and it was amazing but somehow seemed anticlimactic, idk.

The only thing I wonder , is how the hell they are going to top this movie.

What is the next level ?

are they going to get seriously hurt ?

I'm expecting a 2 year project from stept soon because it is impossible to do better than this in a single season.

can we get some sean jordan love in here? IMO one of the best segments of his career. 4 kink back three swap UNGHH son!

The Illusive? You're crazy, or maybe, just maybe, you're uninformed.

Joe-Joe has been around since before there was an around.

At 14, I went to Camp of Champions. My roommate was a friend from another town nearby. I arrived a day early, so Ken and crew from CoC put me in another room with another roommate. Ken said they were, "dealing with him." Apparently, that kid they were dealing with stole his step-dad's credit card, booked a last minute trip to Whistler and one of the final spots in that session.

When I arrived at my room, we immediately hit it off then hit the town, checking out all the fun spots in Whis. You could tell the kid was appreciative of every moment he was spending in Canada.

A few years later, when Sunday River was hosting a rail jam and the set up was less than ideal, that kid grabbed the mic and made everyone laugh. It was one of the more fun rails jams ever, because that kid was the mic, barking like an idiot, and making sure everyone was having a good time.

Years later, on a Boston-based Poor Boyz shoot, the one in which Martini was the breakout star, that same kid shows up to a handrail. Not because he was looking to mooch a scene, or "be cool" or anything like that. No, he showed up because he wanted to help the hustle. That kid is Joey Ciprari and he's one bad ass, respectful dude. Now you know.

aside from pretty much every shot being a banger, the cinematography, sound direction and production of the film were way beyond just about any action sport flick i've seen. the profile shots during shea's seg were way beyond what i expected from a crew of guys whose average age is probably 24 and who i doubt have any formal fine art education.

the best word to describe the film is definitely "raw" but not in an unpolished, edgy standpoint. id say it was raw in the sense of being the most honest, moody, purely emotional film ive seen in action sports.

hats off to the stept crew. if you haven't seen Mutiny yet, go buy it on iTunes right now.
