Mt. Sunapoontang

so tuesday all they had were the 2 boxes and 2 rails, but it looked like they were going to have a jump line really soon

they say this weekend theyll have 5 rails, 4 boxes, and 2 jumps. Anyone know the size of the jumps and what kind of rails/boxes there are

when i went on tuesday it was an A frame box, up flat box, trap rail, flat rail. now it is 7 rails 7 boxes and some jumps

i was thinking about coming up but its gunna be so freakin cold id rather hibernate hah, ill be up sunday though.

yeah, this is it for me, i'm having surgery on my shoulder on the 4th, which will put me out of skiing for 4-6 months. The best shot i have is that there is still snow in may and june

yeah so it was pretty cold today never got above 0 at the summit, and that is without the wind chill. Pretty fun though, kept the crowds away, ridge glades were pretty fun

they took down everything except for the joey side and the two "jumps". Oh yea the ainbow was up but its buried and half the size it used to be . i'm sure they're just startin to rebuild though

Everything was closed today... Rebuilding EVERYTHING... thank god. rainbow is now at the bottom looks like itll be set up better than before, and john said to me a few big kickers going in before the pipe and on skiers right at the bottom

ghey, went up only to realized the park was closed. Looks like it's gonna be sick tho, should be done by the weekend.

so my surgery went well, my shoulder is in a lot of pain though. i'm in a sling for 6 weeks, and i'll be out of sking for 4-6 months. still i hope the rest of the season is good for the rest of you guys, and i'll be back maybe to hike in may/june and definitely by next november

same set up for the small side

non lift side is 2 jumps. then theres a 45 foot jump followed by a 25 footish one Cbox set up with kicker on ther left end, then rainbow box and flat box to drop.

WES!!!!!!!!! GET WELL SOON KIDDDDD!!!!!!!!!! AINT THE SAME WITH DUB NOT ROUND

BROKEN COLLAR BONES ARENT FUN

specifically i dont know there saying 6 boxes, 6 jumps and 2 rails. plus the park up on eastside opens saturday

i was up yesterday and it was deece, but they blew snow last night or were supposed to so i have no clue what its like now... they are supposed to get everything up by next tuesday so im sure there will be good stuff up by saturday.

^ correct

Update: 2 weeks in sling down, 4 more weeks to go, earliest possible skiing May 4th. Shoulder is feeling pretty good.

Does anyone know how hike-able mt sunapee is in may/june? How much snow is still there after they close and how fast does it melt? On a typical year, so there is a typical base depth and typical may/june temperatures.

May 6th last year

anyone else? also do they usually leave the park up, or do they destroy the jumps and take out the rails due to liability issues?

jumps usaully just melt away and the big ones are usually taken down to make a sick set up for april fools jam and all the other rails are taken out... you wont be able to hike jumps... but like that pic might be able to set up yur own rails to shred

^ cool, thats what i thought, but i thought i'd check.

Update: 4 weeks in sling down, 2 to go. I can take it of to take notes, do homework, take tests, us the computer and sleep now. 2 more weeks until i completely get it off. 3 months 1 week until I hopefully get to go skiing at mount sunapee. I just can't believe its the middle of winter and I haven't been skiing in a month.

YOOOOOOOO BEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

so i'll be back in sunapee for spring break, after my collar bone staightens out in like 2 weeks i might be back sooner, dunno, but beesh,

what is set up at sunapee right now??

i'm back like march 5 to the 10th. I think i'm gonna be at okemo 1st to the 4th.

idk how it is now but the park was not bad a couple weeks ago. rainbow box is a little silly. They have a giant cheese wedge kicker and i think everything but the s rail and maybe trap rail are up.

lucky, i'll be back in may, sling is completely off for good now, don't have to wear it at all, but i still can't ski, cause falling on my shoulder would undo the whole surgery

Damn. Sounds like a bunch of us are out with shoulder injuries! But dude, I can't believe that you're so serious with your slling. I had surgery on friday on my collar bone and I already take it out to do most everything except when I go out and about. But good luck on you're shoulder bro, I know exactly how much it sucks to be out.

okay for the record, how many people who ski sunapee have had shoulder injuries this year, and who's had surgery,

i got broken collarbone, and surgery, 4" plate 7 screws in my shoulder

I tore a bunch of cartialage and stretched ligaments in my shoulder, and some of the bones have worn down as a result. resulted in shoulder surgery: labral tear repair, bankart repair, and capsulary repair. also ligaments er tightened back up and the cartilage was reattached to the bones with surgical anchors. i had 6 weeks in a sling and a total of 4-6 months of no skiing so i'l be able to ski may 4th or july 4th depending on what end of that spectrum it really is. I have a follow up in 2 weeks so hopefully the doctor will know a more definitive answer then. So since there were anchors pinning the cartialge top the bone, I had to be in the sling for six weeks otherwise it could have ripped out and the surgery would have been for nothing.
