if you think that there's more good cops out there then bad you are sadly mistaken. cops have stolen money from me, lied in open court about things i said, etc. i speak from personal experience when i say fuck the police.

Society is sick. Hiding such evidences is disgusting, makes me wonder if I still want to depend on the system anymore. Ski bum anyone?

here is a quote from an interview with Frank Lucas.. AKA American Gangster...

"In an interview, Frank Lucas said that he was extorted by corrupt cops who took over $200,000 a week (HOT 97 FM). These officers were part of the NYPD's Special Investigations Unit. By 1977, 52 out of the 70 officers who had been assigned to the unit were either in jail or under indictment (New York Magazine)."

52 out of 70 is equal to 74% so his claim of 80% is not that unjust to say....

just scroll down

Yes, but you're taking a figure from an incorrect context...

You can't use a (alledgedly) corrupt source as your sample group.

If you took a section across the policing force on, let's say, a national level, the number would be a minute fraction of the figure you're trying to prove..

That's like looking at the Westboro Baptist Church and saying that 100% of Christians are fundamentalist bigots.

this. The dude cited hot 97 as his source. Whie yes they are rap experts (to some degree the music they play is awful), frank lucas saying that still isn't a legitimate source. Thats only in one extreme case

thats a neat observation. What sort of research have you compiled to back this outrageous statistic that you seemingly plucked from the deepest depths of your anal cavity?

Wait, so his buddy had a ski mask on walking up to the gas station, and it didn't appear to be winter. Soo uhh ya, he deserved to be arrested.

The cops lied, but the kid wasn't innocent.

There are three cops in my hometown and none of them abuse their power.

By using your logic and my research no cops anywhere abuse their power.

the fact that 52 out of 70 of the officers were charged is common factual knowledge... look it up. now the claim of them extorting 200,000 a week is speculation, yes.. BUT the only point i'm trying to make is that cops are dirty as fuck.. anyone with that type of power will abuse it and when you end up in court, its your word against a cops... thankfully the kid from the video in my original post was lucky enough to have walked in front of a security camera, cuz i dont care what happened before... if he was wanted for questioning/detainment the officer could have easily drew his gun and ordered him on the ground or tased him.... instead, he pistol whipped him and caused a shot to go off that potentially could have hit any innocent bystander.

you know what people make mistakes and they are human, i mean some of the shit that cops have seen and had to do i cant imagine would be fun.and 80% is bullshit.

stop trying to pass off your BS example as fact.

I in no way condone the activity of the officer in the video you posted - it was an idiot move on the part of the officer. Yes, there are corrupt officers. Just like there are corrupt people of all professions.

I'm sorry that you pulled some idiot move and got involved with the law. Don't break the law.

The fact that you had a "bad experience" with maybe a few officers gave you the misconstrued perception of "cops being dirty as fuck". They aren't. They're there to serve your ass.

In all honesty, you don't appear to be the most intelligent person.. I really don't know why I'm bothering..

If you have this little faith in human nature, what are you imagining a world without cops would be like?

Because you'd have way bigger problems than someone taking your weed away.

More than 80% of statistics are made up on the spot, but seriously as bad as people claim the police are, I'm sure we would see an overall decrease in our standard of living if they weren't here, so don't hate the police.

More kids with no prespective generalizing about "all cops" and who's only interaction with police are petty crime, traffic stops and partying and oh wait living a nearly care free life because they get down and dirty for you every day and deal with the scum of the earth and risk injury and disease to do so. The funniest thing to me is in 8 years of combined lurking and posting on NS I have never ever seen a thread about police interaction with an NSr that ever showed disregard for the law. I've read about NSrs who didn't understand the law so they felt fucked over, NSrs who didn't understand the limits and enforcement of their rights getting fucked over and NSrs who were blatantly breaking the law bitch about getting caught. But never an police brutatility yet most of my friends that have legit rap sheets have more respect and perspective on their role in society then NS

in the words of public enemy. "you say fuck the police but whos stopping you from shooting me"

really it would be so much more fucked up without cops. can you guys suggest a better solution? yes some of them abuse their power and its really fun to be rebellious and hate them but they are needed

i went to jail for 2 days in nyc because at 3 am i was going to my friends house. fell asleep on subway and a cop dragged me out demanded my id i didn't have it and took me to the tombs where it took 2 days to see a judge for a fucking violation. fuck the police

Word. You can have grievances with individual cops, judges etc and certainly with laws. And if they commit crimes you can hate them but you hate criminals not cops if that's the case. There are criminals in every segment of society politics, leo, military, doctors, bankers etc etc etc but to hate cops is fucking ignorant because everyone of us enjoys the service they provide without even noticing it half the time because they do a good enough job most of us rarely feel truly threatened. The majority of people who hate them either commit crimes and have reason to fear them or are generalizing out of ignorance

Fuck you.

now i'm using the "cop's work is hard work" cliche, yes, but it's fucking true. I live in a town of 100,000 and in total there are 10 squad cars, i believe. police work their asses off for a paycheck that doesn't reflect what they deserve. there are corrupt cops. there are corrupt people. you're the kind of kid I hate, that sees an example of police corruption and pounces on it and says "LOOK LOOK POLICE SUCK". Just because you don't get away with your petty weed smoking all the time doesn't mean you have to do this shit.

kindly gtfo and may a bus run you over

police officers are people. there are good, and there are bad. some abuse their position of power, but the rest of them make this world a much better, safer place every day. not to say people don't get screwed over by guys with a badge and a vendetta, but generalizing about this thing doesn't do anybody any good.

for taking up two seats on a subway i told him i was sorry and i didn't know that was a law. ill sit up its not a big deal i even gave him my S.S number and it checked out but he still took me to jail he over reacted so stfu.

are you serious?

I would be pretty fucking pissed if I had to go to the slammer because I didn't have my ID, much less for two days. There was no responsibility to take because the dude didn't do anything wrong.

I'm not going to say all cops/ the majority of the cops are corrupt, but my personal experiences with them have made me wonder.

clearly you don't know about the strict laws in the subway system in nyc. please know what you are talking about before you post.

Only if you at least TRY to put together a decent sentence once in a while. It's fucking impossible and annoying to read your shitty ass posts.

no i didn't and it was explained to me by my friend who lives in nyc. he told me a while back it was this huge idea to stop people for stupid shit to check them for warrants. not sure how true that is tho.

i look at it this way, in my 23 years of living luckely i havent had to many incounters with cops. of the10-20 ive had (ranging from tickets to being arrested to asking for ajump when my car died to airports problems, to accidents whem i was hit) maybe only one was a nice/helpful/guy the rest were complete asshole... so from what ive experienced its well over 80%. cops are supose to serve and protect. lets take state troopers for ex. how are they doing either, their sole purpose is to provide r a revenue stream for the town/area they work in...i cant respect someome who spends 8 hours a day trying to ticket people.

Being a cop puts a fucked mindset into quit a few of the police officers heads. Not all are bad and I don't dislike cops in general, but the ones that wast their time going after kids skateboarding having fun, or plain abusing their power pisses me the fuck off.

asking for a jump when my car died's illegal, being hit by a drunk driven and than having the cop shit on me, being lied to straight to my face when i was honest and then proceded to be made fun of by the entire dept, arresting my bro and his friend and letting the friend go because the cop drinks with his dad, someome was trying to rob my gf's house and her mom went to the station to see if they could search a forclosed house next to them because it looked like people had been going in and out and the cop says ok go check it im not doing it and let me know what happens-and than her house was robbed a few days latter. im not bitching im explaining what ive experienced, untill at lease 50% of the cops i deal with are respectiable i wont change my opinion

i was only referring to the last part about state troopers. sorry can't change quoted text on mobile
