More moments in the wild. It was super firm today. Deathwishes were in heaven. 104 outperformed the 112.

Anyone who has the DW and DW104, what’s your thoughts on sizing? I ski the DW112 in 190 but think I’d size down for the 104 just to keep it a bit more nimble in tight spaces. Anyone do the same?

I demoed a 190 112 a while back and have a 190wc and just do not enjoy either as much in tight places as would be expected. You just feel that tail hanging out there.
on the 104 I wouldn’t go 190 unless I planned to use it exclusively in more open spaces.

I'm going to buy some Moments at the factory in Reno next week. I've never skied a pair of Moments before, but I think I'm making the right choice. Unfortunately they're not offering demos until later in the month and I'm leaving for a trip next week. It's between the Deathwish and the Countach based off everything I've read about and want in a ski. If you were taking a long roadtrip (i'm going to the rockies, wyoming, bc, pnw) and could only bring one pair, would you bring the DW or the Countach?

Looking to finally pick up my first pair of Moments! I'm a 6'0" / 230lb east coast skier looking to add a pair of dedicated "taking a trip out west" daily drivers. I'd describe my ability level as on the low-end of advanced, and I'm looking for something that I can pack for any given trip out to CO, UT, CA, and BC area resorts for mostly on-piste enjoyment.
Going to be hitting Park City from 1/9-1/17, is there anywhere near SLC or Park City that does Moment demos? Would love to try out any of the following; Commander 102, DW104, DW112, Countach 110.

the 104 will not perform as well when things start to get deeper. I have both the 104 and 112 and if I had to choose only 1 it would be 112 for a wider range of conditions it can perform in.
the commander is going to be very directional and very chargy with its metal inlays but not as “friendly” across the whole mountain.
countach is going to be more playful than the commander and have great float for a 110. Still chargy and less playful than the deathwish line.
if you were traveling with two skis I’d say the wish 104 and the countach.
if you’re looking for a one ski quiver for travel the deathwish is the only answer out of the list.

Just wanted to stop-in and sing some praises for my deathwish 112s -- skied hard on Saturday at Alpine in low-coverage, storm conditions and hit tons of rocks/roots/gravel finding lines under alpine bowl chair and roundhouse, then Sunday at squaw got amazing powder turns in early before hiking to the slot/mainline pocket/funnel and hitting more chutes and pow.
Skiing the Funnel off Emigrant was a perfect microcosm for why I love my deathwishes. The top section was steep, wind-blasted to hell, and barely edgeable, so my first turns were hair raising to say the least. I was extremely thankful for the triple-camber keeping me from losing my edge. Lots of folks were just slipping or bailing altogether. Deeper into the funnel the snow turned into feet of windblown pow and I got to air it out over the rocks into some insanely fun turns - the float was perfect for my skiing style. It's really freeing to not worry about whether you have the right ski for the terrain on your feet.
I was able to survive the weekend without any core shots or major damage. Lots of racing stripes and moderately deep scratches on the base, but will just wax those out. My buddy did not have the same fate - two core shots skiing the same stuff. Cheers to the Moment team for making an awesome product!

Deep moguls and tight trees are not as fun with the 190cm length, but manageable. To me, I ski a lot more terrain that favors a longer ski. However, I don't think I'd be on a 196cm version if they made it. Hope that helps!

It’s really splitting hairs though and more about how comfortable you are on a longer ski and what your main preference is. If your main priority is charging I’d say go 184. More playfulness go 179. You’ll be happy either way.
