14530456:Pikachu. said:Hey everyone I'm sure this question has been beat to death but I'm still looking for some more input on my specific use case after reading every thread I can find on the comparison. I'm debating between Deathwish 112 and Wildcat 108.
About me: I'm 6'3", 185-195 lbs. I live and ski in Colorado, mostly in the front range. I'm an "expert" skier, and spend most of my time skiing all-mountain terrain with a heavy freestyle influence; Lots of roller/side-hit ollies & 360s, up to 15ft cliff drops, etc. I'm looking for a daily driver normal/soft condition ski that I expect to take out ~75% of the time (I have other skis in the quiver for really firm or really deep days).
I'm struggling because my ski style kind of switches back and fourth between charging hard/fast/not making many turns/plowing through chopped up powder & harder crud vs. slowing it down and making tight controlled turns in trees/moguls and jumping/spinning off anything I can find. There's a freestyle backbone to both of these ski styles. I've been reflecting on these differences a lot, and I really think I'm 50/50 split between these two types of skiing.
From my research, it seems the WC 108 would be better suited for the more charge-y style, the DW would be better for the slower/more playful style. Given my size/weight the WC might have more of the support I need, but I'm really intrigued by the triple camber technology and am drawn to the hard pack performance/playfulness of the DW. I have a pair of (2015?) Tallac's as a touring setup and I've skied them at the resort a few times and those things are LOCKED to the snow when carving groomers. That ski can't really charge because it's light, but I'm really impressed with the edge hold and can only imagine what it would be like to ski with that kind of locked-down feel on a bigger/more supportive ski.
I've already called the factory which was helpful but from the two people I chatted with, one gave a slight edge to the DW and one gave the slight edge to the WC.
Definitely going for the 190 length either way.
Some questions that I still have:
- I love carving switch on groomers. Is there a big switch skiing performance difference between these skis?
- Which ski feels like it has more pop? I'm a pretty big guy, and I'm confident shifting my weight around forward/backwards on my skis to ollie/nollie, so I'm not afraid to get pop out of a stiffer ski.
- Is there any difference in feeling balanced in the air on spins? Swing weight differences? This is from a cliff/side hit perspective more than a park perspective.
I'm sure I can't go wrong either way, but if anyone has any input to help me make my decision, please help!

the cat 08 does feel more “playful” than the 112 wish. But not by much and not enough to say the wish is not playful
the edge hold on the wish in basically all conditions is pretty damn impressive. I did feel like my cat 08 got pushed around a tad more than the wish 112.
On foot the 08 cat and 112 wish feel similar weight wise and swing wise. I personally didn’t notice a huge difference until the cat 190 which is a 118 and feels it.
Personally having all these skis if I was adding only 1 it would be the deathwish 112. It’s an amazing all around ski. You’re not going to be unhappy at all.
the cat is a great ski as well. I love mine, but it is a mustache rocker profile so not very different. Triple camber has a huge following for a reason. In the end a 184 wish was added to the quiver.

there is only one correct answer. Pivots. If you don’t mind the color pivot 15’s are onsale here for $220 shipped USD. Their prices are in CAD.
For that price pivot is the only answer.
they have black 18’s onsale too but those are only 75 brakes.
14530501:Pikachu. said:I'm definitely going with pivots. Really trying to decide between the raw and gold color for the blue reaper deathwishes. I'm not fan of the forza colorway unfortunately, but I appreciate the pointer.
Anyone have any thoughts? I have blue boots similar color to the DW topsheets. Leaning towards the gold ones to give a bit of contrast between blue skis and blue boots.

Who has skied Bibbys and the CBs here?

these all seem to be their normal mass produced skis.
i was there earlier in the month and there wasn’t that many countach period.
