M&A stoke

Just got this printed 13x18 at the school lab for my alumni week exhibit submission, cant way to see it up on the wall!

niceeeee, I am mad jelly right now.

I posted in the unthreadworthy thread about scanners a few days ago and got no responses. So I am pretty sure I want a dedicated 35mm film scanner, I mentioned 120 in the unthreadworthy thread but will probably wait a while before I start shooting in 120. So what price brackets will get get me what quality? I wold really like to stay under 300 dollars new, and even that would be steep if I cant convince my parents to help me out a little bit. If there are any sites to look for used ones that would be nice too.

And also, I got a roll of film back today. Kodak BW400CN this time. It is definitely like Christmas morning. I was looking for a a roll to take in yesterday, and I realized I was missing one, I was really bummed because I thought I lost it, but my Dad surprised me by taking one in and paying for it too! I feel I progressed technically a good amount from my first roll (It was my 5th roll that I just got back), but not necessarily photographically. Oh well

@erik 35 1.4. If I dig the system I'd be down to try out the new 23 1.4 (35mm equiv) when it comes out

@tijmen yeah I heard about it, but for the price I got the xe1 at there was no point in dropping full retail on the xe2

@laurence yep! you can barely squeak it on and off, its kind of nice actually

@dingosean well that counts out the rest of the fuji family as they both have OVF/EVF hybrids and lack RF patches that would be the only reason worth investing in an OVF to begin with. I'll take the EVF it's awesome.

Oh god.

For some reason I thought..

A: by EVF you meant just using the back screen because

B: I thought it literally only had the back screen because

C: I mixed up the X-E1 with the X-M1.

...yeah, the X-E1 is totally legit just like the X-pro1.

Also, definitely check out the 56mm f1.2 when it comes out. 85/f1.2 equiv? zomg.

And I heard Zeiss is coming out with a 135 f2 equivalent? That would be absolutely batshit awesome.

As long as they make it look better then the Touit lenses. They seem to be made of the same plastic as 20 dollar Logitech mouse.

Cosina is the one making their lenses and they only really care about M mount stuff when it comes to quality

Wouldn't be surprised, honestly...

and at that focal length, there's no need to have autofocus anyways, seeing as you're shooting at Infinity 95% of the time.

What's kyreonite? Google turns up ZERO results when Googling it (which is weird considering you just used the word here...)

Also, that's a P67, aye?

That was the best part of the deal.

Can't see how plastic expires do. The joke's on the seller. I can even use the other cats for my coat.

I do believe that's a pound sign, which is the symbol for the pound sterling, the currency of the United Kingdom.

A. It's Alessi.B. It has some innovative features.

C. Looks sweet.

D. That design.

E. Sort of matches my fabulous cats.

My philosophy in live is very simple: Buy few things, and whatever you do buy, buy the best possible.

A. What the fuck is Alessi

B. How many innovative features can you fit into a cat dish.

C. Debatable.

D. What design?

E. Sure.

100$ could get you about 10 cats at a garage sale.

I've never agreed with a post more.

Lawrence even covering it in my wallpaper/carpet would look better. You post some cool stuff, but that is not one of them, although I'm not exactly mr style so who am I to judge haha

A. Alessi is an old Italian company focussed on making design objects: otherwise ordinary tools and objects executed as high design, particularly in a post-modern mode, from designers such as Philippe Starck, Ettore Sotsass, Michael graves, etc...

B. Apparently, a lot.

C. It matters what I think.

D. Alessi and Miriam Mirri, it's definitely a design object.

Besides, I have non-functional design objects that cost a lot more. These cat bowls still make me smile for it's simple, yet playful design and that's ultimately what matters most to me.

The fact that a stupid cat dish matters at all to you makes you a mega douche.

On a M&A stoke note, got my D3! She's a beaut. Stoked to shoot some stuff this week(end) with it.

IDK if I mentioned it in here or not, but I'm still stoked on it so here we go:

I got a job at Sugarloaf as a "Snow Reporter" and Photographer. Basically, my job 5/7 days a week all winter long will be to get out for first chair and ski, take photos, then write about it for their website. I do other stuff too, manage social media, get into the office at 6am and update backend weather stuff, and I have a few other marketing tasks, but I'll also have a lot of creative freedom to take photos anywhere of anything with a ton of resources. Hopefully shoot a bunch that they'll use for advertising. The guy that hired me is now the head director of all of marketing, so working under him will be a really good experience. WOO!

Aie, the 67's an absolute gem. I'm working as a photo-tech right now and have been printing exclusively c-print in with colour enlargers. kyreonite machine is the way of processing exposed colour paper, rather than using trays like you would with fibre based b&w printing.

I'm sort of been fighting working with computers lately - I've been building a pretty large body of work and not of it has even gone into a scanner. Feels good to me actually making photographs as a tangible thing rather than oogling over useless gear and shooting with the sole intention of posting a jpg to a forum. Photography is a physical thing.

stoked on a last minute sorority video i filmed and am starting to edit. also stoked i finally found a spot to shoot a music video that is happening this weekend with the black magic cinema camera

not drunk in this one :( im still editing it and its for one of their fundraisers so not many boobs either. kinda lame actually now that i think about it

Just got it in, first scan, full auto settings, only cropped in Ps no other editing.

I'm in love.

(Why the watermark? I need a disk drive to register the software.)

Finally got around to finishing my pinhole camera. Really glad with the results. Have only made three exposure's so far, but it's looking great. This self portrait being the third one. Two minute and twenty second exposure. Directly onto 5x7' photo paper and inverted digitally.

It's pretty ugly. Made out of wood. And I taped all the edge's just to make sure it's light-proof. I'll definitely try making a prettier one some day because it's a lot of fun!

Changed my major to digital media and broadcasting, picked up an internship doing video production and have been shooting a lot. Stoked!

A couple of friends are performing with their band tonight.

I promised to take pictures, I'm stoked but as far as concert photography goes...

Well here is the finished product. There were a few cute girls there at least. pretty happy with it considering we planned it in like 2 hours the day of the shoot
