M&A stoke

That was cool dude. Any ramping shots? Some looked like it, but couldn't tell for sure.

Especially a couple of those milkyway shots were cool. How do you it with batteries? Do you have a grip? My batteries always run out really quickly at night because of the cold.

well i have a 24-70 2.8L with it, body has under 200 shots on it (closer to 100), lens is fantastic shape. Like 4k if you wanted it.

My Pentax ME Black came in today. It was listed as bargain, but is in great condition. The only thing wrong with it is a little bit of wear on the fake leather and there is a small white paint scuff that I should probably be able to get out with a little buffing.

I also had a creativity burst last night and I chopped up an old suede and canvas Jansport backpack to make some camera straps. I think they turned out pretty well

On the left is a wrist strap that sandwiches between the tripod QR plate and the tripod thread. In the middle is just a basic wrist strap, I will try to attach the pattern to it somehow. On the right is a basic neck strap, I still need to figure out how to attach it to the camera without using knots. I might try to make some holsters for extra rolls of film to attach to the neck strap tonight

Oh and by the way, the viewfinder is fucking huge. It is probably twice the size as my consumer grade EOS body.

I just cant get over how huge it is, there are probably bigger finders and it is partly just because the Finder on my rebel is so small and dark, but it is just amazing. I am so excited.

YIPEEEEEEEYYYYY

Hmm, definitely interested but the timing is off right now as I'm currently trying to buy a house. If you somehow have it in a few months I'd probably have more money to play with.

I don't think you understand how money works, Lawrence. It is much different to spend several grand on one camera setup vs several hundred on many vintage ones. Also I don't plan on going to digital any time soon except for my mirrorless.

How is Olympus glass, better or worse than sub $100 Pentax or Nikon primes?

There is a slight chance that my grandfather had a OM-1 that he would probably be willing to give me. He doesn't really remember though. I really just need a fully manual camera before the next school year starts. I would be perfectly fine shooting what I have until then so I have a lot of time to look for what I want.

Just now notice the size of that charger.

Jesus, Leica really is still really bad at designing chargers.

That horribly cheap plastic.

Still not as laughably out of proportion as the M8 charger do.

yeah but you filmers rarely post so this thread would be pretty dead without the activity of those guys. Plus some of the stuff has been about digital.

I agree with Zac.

It's not that we don't post, it's just that it's always so drowned out by you guys. Not that I don't respect film photography, it's just not my thing right now.

I agree with the above three posts - there seems to be more general discussion in this thread than actually sharing excitement/experiences/etc.

That said, I'm pretty stoked to be shooting the entire production/BTS of Michael Buble's concert at the TD Garden tomorrow!! And also renting a Zeiss 85mm 1.4, which is going to be fun to test out! Will be updating via Instagram if anyone's interested ( http://instagram.com/officialrecap ).

simmer down boys, it's not ski season and most of you filmers primarily shoot skiing. The film guys are just passing their time with an art related hobby

Okay, I hear that.

But it's kind of insulting to just generalize us a ski filmers, I love stepping out of that and doing other photography and video projects during the summer.

well you guys ARE bitching about photography related posts. There's no need for two threads, if you want to see less film/more other stuff, then go out and do something you're excited about!

non-stoke for me: found out today one of my einstein's flashtubes died. I placed an order for another VML last night, and called right after I found out to try and get a tube thrown in that shipment, but it was already out the door :( $50 shipped for a fucking flashtube.... -_-

Found a Canonet 28 I forgot I had, loaded up with a battery and seems to work fine.

Maybe better as a street cam then the Konica with it's mirror slap of a thousand thunderstrikes.

Am I the only one who has the feeling every other thread is either about what lenses they need for their APS-sized sensors or a video shot by a video guy asking for critique?

The only thread photographers use is M&A stoke.

"Your Best Photography"

"Camera Porn Thread" (Then again that's just me and Tom posting photos of Leicas and Hassys)

But yeah, no the rest of it is seriously "should I buy the Tokina 11-16?", "Should I buy the Tamron 17-50?", "WTB Glidecam 2000", or "What song should I use for my edit".

haha.

Don't forget " I want a camera that takes cinema-quality video and professional quality photos, I have $0.50, what do you recommend"
