M&A stoke

Thats a really big leak, like lawrence was saying, how long did it sit on each frame? Have you inspected the light seals and shutter curtain for holes?

ahhhhh, so if there is no leak apparent it's probably because that shot was taken pretty quickly in comparison to the one before it. okay. so i just need to start rapid firing the entire roll then i guess...

Ever wondered what 350 rolls of film look like? And then there's also the big spools, another 500 feet (another 120 rolls) of film. I'll be selling three quarters of it.

Unlikely. I'm coming to the the US in october and could bring some, but I'd recommend just getting Kodak Gold from B&H, only two bucks a piece.

I think I will send in my first roll of film ever shot to get developed tomorrow. I don't know whether to be scared or excited.

Just do it dude, It is sooooo much more fun than digital. It is hard to explain, but it seems like seeing the frame counter count down makes you want to take better pictures, even if you are shooting in Program/Auto as I was on my first 2 or 3 rolls of film (I don't shoot auto anymore just to be clear)

You can get a '90s base level EOS body for around 10 bucks fully usable. A kit lens from the same era will be like 40ish bucks. Or you could spend a little more and get a nice manual camera which is, from what I have been told, the best way to get into film.

First film camera?

Go to a thrifshop get a 5 buck 60/70/80's slr with a 50 prime

Spend 1 buck on a PX625 battery.

Be amazed a how good that glass is

or spend no money at all and just ask parents, friends, other people, anyone who would be old enough to have had a film camera that they would probably just give to you for free.

Why an FM? All Nikon bodies are great.

Before I seriously got into photography I used my mom's SLR first. It's a Nikon FG2, probably one of the worst Nikon SLR"s around. I shot 5 rolls with that and that's when I decided I wanted to 'really' get into photography and buy a DSLR.

I'm sad but also stoked that I'm transferring at semester and headed back to Montana. I'll miss Seattle and all her glory, but I'm hoping to meet some good riders and be able to film and rip with them etc. (my HS friends that go to Bozeman don't do big tricks or urban so I'm excited to hopefully be apart of that side of skiing)

I've missed winter snow so much!

Wacom Intuos5 Tablet purchased, as well as a 4 drive enclosure + 4x1TB drives for just $200! score!

Turns out I couldn't find the time to bring my film in and even though my dad works right by there, he can't ever remember to stop by there either. I just realized that they do their developing at the Boulder store, which could possibly be closed, I haven't even checked yet.

I would look good on your desk. could still serve as a nice objet d'art.

@Balto, you can never spend too much on Leica.

Haha, I was so ready for that response. I am still stoked though. I know that there is no actual worth in how a camera feels but the 7d is so much better to use. If I am going to be shooting skiing I want a camera hefty enough to fend off a yeti and the 7d fits the bill. I also was able to get a screaming deal off craigslist on a minty fresh one that had been kept in the original box with the original tissue paper and with all cords still in the little baggies. So yes, I understand the distain but still stoked!

No, for a yeti you minimally need a Canon 1DX.

I prefer to use a Red Epic for those occasions just because of the sharp angles.

@Balto, damn long time since I saw that movie.

(But the inaccuracies annoy me now...)

Of course.

Posting about Leica's really makes me want to buy one again.

On a slightly related note of black paint, my Nikon F is finally developing some patina:

I really should use it more often but my god the photomic meter is so big, annoying to use and looks like a tumor.

My dad took my film in today. I even went home during my long off period today and couldn't find it to take it in myself. Hopefully not all of the shots will be terrible. First roll, expectations aren't very high.

Anyways, I got assigned an art project today. I have to find a famous/well known image/artwork/album cover/magazine cover etc. and I have to recreate it 3 dimensionally by cutting and shaping paper. I have some ideas, but am overall kind of stumped. I really don't want to do a person because that would be incredibly hard. I was thinking Ansel Adam's jeffrey pine picture, maybe a picture of A Adams, possibly the 12/13 Opus topsheet, a pink floyd album cover. Really I am just looking for more sugesstions
