Jon's new dubs!!!!!

freeskiing is on a level where the pro´s have to train hard for their success..... i bet all of them spendin a lot time @the gym to push the limits further and further... like jon said in his interview, he wants to invent new tricks, so that is totally legit. he also has a huge racing background so he is used to train in a way like that. tanner wants to use more and more natural features for his tricks, simon goes bigger and bigger in the pipe and jon want to step up the technical level to a point nobody else can do it.... so what is your problem? what does skiing mean to you? everybody has a different opinion of that... jon had more powder days in his life than all of u so why the fuck should he care..?

For me skiing is about freedom. Im just saying that the direction things are going is looking a lot more like racing/moguls - purely in the regimented training sense and the cost of being competetive. I know for a fact that all of these guys spend a lot of time in the gym - you have to if you want to continue doing this sport for a long time - but that is a far cry from introducing tricks that can ONLY be learnt on water ramps, of which there are very few facitlities in the world. So it becomes not a question of who is the best, but who can afford the travel and coaches. Its hardly a level playing field.

Well, I hade to step in and let you knw what I think!

I ski because I love it, carving, powder, bumps, park... I think it all great! but I am also compeditive and live do develop my sking, and where the level is at right now you need to train to reach new levels, you cant just go out and chill and raise the bar.. But this is still freeride to me as I CHOOSE to do this, I love feeling the rush when I push myself and do stuff that scares me..

I dont have a coach telling me to get up at 7am, I love what I do and that is what drives me to get up in the morning and try to reach my goals...

Now when I did what I wanted, I can go out and ski around and enjoy skiing for what it is, because to me skiing is freedom, I have the freedom to do what I want and if I CHOOSE to go hit I water ramp to achive my goals, is that so bad?

I do have the opportunity to go to OZ and hit the ramps, but it was not given to me, I worked hard for it!

i got mad respect for that. it's not like he just has a rich daddy who pays for him to go to water ramps. And almost all of us have some sort of a competitive spirit, so if you had the opportunity to be the best at what you do, wouldn't you do it? ya it takes a lot of hard work but that is probably pretty cool knowing that you are the only one that can do a trick like that.

way defend yourself well man. fair enough... as long as a trick has style then it belongs to our sport.

why did you ask him why he was asking why he was asking why was he bumbed this thread!?!?!?
can you tell me pls
