Nefertiti
In my opinion the mummy found in the side chamber of Amenhotep II was Nefertiti. I think this because of a few reasons, such as the mummy had a double piercing in her ear, only the royal people had that according to Fletcher. I also think that because if the exrays that were performed. The exrays showed that is was a young woman in her late 20s to mid 30s. It also showed that it was a woman mummy and not a male mummy. The head of the mummy was shaved, this was because it was hot out and to protect from diesese and lice infestations. They also found Nefer beads on the mummy, only people of royle cllass wore those. The brain of the mummy was not removed so it was possible thaat they were using some sort of new religion of the Sun, in that religion they left the brain in the body.Nefertiti and her husband started this religion. The right arm of the mummy was also crossed, this showed that this was a person of royalyty and high power. And finally the mummys mouth was all shattered and broken, this possibly showed that her priests, who were fired, wanted to get revenge by cursing her in the afterlife. By wrecking her face would signifiagntly reduce her beauty in the afterlife keeping her from her wealth and power.
My conclusion is that the mummy does belong to Nefertiti. The other article does not state any thing about this, therefore there is no evidence proving it otherwise. The facts of Fletcher are more signifigant.
