I was looking at my old Axis Magazine and Freeze

those Dinos they were so nice!

I want them back!

What do you miss in skiing that isn't there anymore???

 
I miss switch mistys. I miss Huck dolls. I miss tricks in movies that didnt have to be perfectly stomped and actually looked difficult to do. I miss Vincent Dorion's cork 3/linclon combos. I miss D spins. I miss the scharab brothers. I miss pep skiing the park. I miss plehouse films. I miss ATA's trains. I miss trap boxes. I miss stoke. I miss Bios.
 
I really don't miss that much besides the dinosaurs... I love where skiing is today and wouldn't trade it for anything from its past.
 
I too miss the dinosaurs along with the goat and, well, Freeze in general. I miss Skogen Sprang's rodeos, and Pollard in the park.
 
mutes that aren't high mutes, all tweaked out to the side with the other arm in the air. Preferably thrown with a switch misty, or something similar.

Mike Wilson in focused/superpark made me start skiing park and I for sure miss that. Also Skogen and when Dash skied park and rode for line, those were the days...
 
Yeah, the " 'insert name of resort here' park shoot" just isnt the same.

Same crazy features, but no real soul to it.

I mean at least a big giant triceratops or something, just throw one up. Themes were the coolest, now every one is too turbo and cool for them. Blerg.
 
I miss Rory Bushfield. His opening segment in hit list was pants creamable.
I miss the days when people skied for fun.
I miss the era before snowboarding turned into a bunch of dirty gypsys
 
I MISS REAL COACHES AT SKI CAMPS!

10 years ago when PBP was filming 13 and jf cusson STOMPED a 12 foot BACKFLIP in the most hanus 8 foot tall half pipe ever, who else did that? who could do that now? and the skis these days obviously make things 100 percent easier with their symetric construction, and butter zones, or skis that are built to pop off halfpipe walls so now there are 1000 people doing switch 10s and double pretzels wow im impressed.

I miss when park skiing was so small that you could walk up to any twintipper on the mountain and regardless of age or skill level you were instant friends.

I miss the days when people cheered from the lift, not threw garbage.

I miss carving groomers and skiing bumps. I miss seeing someone carve powder in a movie.

I miss when just sliding a down hand rail was good enough for a pro ski movie.
 
I was thinking of the meaning of slay more along the lines of Yo i slay at skiing therefore I am good. But I now see how it could go both ways.
 
Yes.
I miss being completely in awe of the sport, when seeing another pair of twins on the hill was a highlight of the day. When seeing a skier in the snowboard park doing anything was just unbelievable. When the Nintendo park at whis was still the Nintendo 64 park and reminded me of Legend of Zelda, Super smash bros, Yoshi's story, etc.
I miss when I was mesmerized by any new ski movie and ski magazine, and didn't know anything about what the tricks were called, just that they looked cool. When seeing people land backwards seemed almost retarded, yet mind-blowingly awesome.
 
skiing is just in a phase where people are obsessed with the cleanest rideaways. more raw styles will come back, its just a cycle
