How to make a homemade hoodie???

wow im stoked for you too! put up some pictures

ya... trying to make a profit off them doesn't really work i first started thinking bout making money but don't think that's going to happen haha

I posted pics on the first page. And yeah you can't make profit out of them but making them is just so much fun.

o i didn't know that was yours

wow i love the colors on the hoodie i think for my next hoodie im going to make something of that color and make it actually fit me like a normal hoodie haha

Yea this one is for daily use, not for skiing. The fabric I used is very light, you can almost see through the white parts so it's really comfortable in the summer. I think I'm going to make a second hoodie like that in the summertime and a third, taller and warmer one before the next skiing season.

got mine all drawn up n buying fabric sunday or monday ill have the finished product done and posted in a week or so!

i think its cool that now we are all making our hoodies, i love this idea cause now we are all going to be different. not everone is trying to copy the pros now,so stoked on everyone having there own unique hoodie!

i have a broken knee, so im gonna make some of these in the garden, looking out to see like an old woman. excepty ill have an ipod, and be making hoodies that are 40" tall!

ththis is a test hoodie first time in a while

I was under the impression that to sew hoodie type of fabric, you needed an overlock sewing machine?

or is it possible just sewing it by hand?

overlocking machine would be great but they cost around 400 dollors

what i did was just sew everything twice i don't know how it will hold out

if you are using my way i reccomend not washing it so often but my hoodie survived through one wash so far so i think its ok

sewing by hand just might take a bit too long... i would invest in a used sewing machine if u are looking for a cheap one

With so lightweight fabric that I got in my hoodie I sew everything just once and made the starts and finishes extra thorough.

Btw, starting another hoodie today!

ya remember to go over the start and the end a few times to ensure it won't come undone

wow yur lucky my mom won't let me start another one

i don't have any money... i can't get a job since im korean and im in canada with a student visa.

unless i have a working visa im not allowed to work in canada

bought my materials todaycut the chest peices died the fabric briliant blue and the rest is white for now i still might change itgoing for a zipper hoodie to 36'' zipper! hahaand as far ass colors go iv got bright blue pants and so far my hoodie is bright blue and white but im thinking of dying the white.. any sugestions on that?

sell some shit you dont need. do odd jobs for people (mowing lawns, babyshitting, cleaning cars...)

and come on, you must have some money...

grab a white bed sheet, find the middle, starch the top so it makes a good point, then cut out holes for eyes and ur mouth..............

Oh shit u meant hooded sweatshirt. ooooppppps

TECHNICALLY for best results and not killing your machine you should sew knits with an overlock or coverstitch...that being said tho...when there's a will theres a way! i used to sew EVERYTHING by hand. i would buy regular jeans and then turn em inside out, put em on, pin, then cut and sew to make skinny jeans before i could find them in my city...and yeah, by hand. i was pretty persistent tho, i would go over every seam twice and do a straight stitch then an overlock stitch by hand(2x).
i mean also remember everything used to be made by hand so you just need some patience. ya itll take longer...
primarily also in response to the unraveling comment, knits can unravel, but wont cause too much damage to a garment, but usually jersey knits like hoodie and tshirt fabrics can be and are left raw edge(no overlock) on some clothing even in stores. they'll just curl and are quite unlikely to cause an issue after long term use. it's nothing like woven fabrics at all.

hey Brian. what kind of fabric did you use and how did you make the cuffs? did you just fold the end of the sleeve over and sew it? that is the sickest hoodie i have ever seen and i hope to make one taht is similar if you do not mind. I like the angle stripes, i will proabbly make it a little different and obviously with different colors cause I don't want to be a copy cat lol.

that reminds me of one of my brothers hoodies.

i have a pic of it in my profile.

mos def throw some yellow in there.

I dont know if this has been addressed, but what kind of fabric do you use? and where do I purchase the it (the fabric)?

at any fabric,or craft store, and its called sweatshirt fabric but most places are realy low on it because its not winter.
