How to lucid dream tonight!

as a kid i used to do the sleep paralysis thing, without knowing what it was. I just thought it felt cool, and i would eventually just fall asleep

One of the things i remember from being little was waking up in the middle of the night and looking up at my ceiling and there was a monster and shit making scary ass horn noises, i recall trying to scream but it wouldnt come out. Now that i think about it maybe that coulda been sleep paralysis?

Instead of going into a state of paralysis and possibly soiling your pants....

Try going to bed with an empty stomach.

You can't control what you dream (unless of course you practice) But the visions will be extremely clear and lucid.

If you really want lucid dreams, sleep outside in a fresh cool air AND on an empty stomach.

Shit gets wild....

Best part is, you should remember your dream in good detail because the visions made such an impact on your mind at night.

I tried this last night but failed. But, I do find myself having lucid dreams quite often, where I remain in the dream, but know that I'm dreaming so I'm able to make my own choices.

Usually I'm already in the dream when I realize I'm dreaming, so I can't exactly choose my dreams entirely-- for instance, if im in a cafe somewhere with Brad Pitt, I can't decide I'd rather be at Disneyland with George Clooney-- but, I can decide what I do with Brad Pitt in the cafe.

This is hypothetical, Casey-- you're obviously the only person who I frequent cafes and disneyland with in my dreams.

well I tried the way OP described last night... it worked but I didn't like it at all. I felt my body fall asleep then after that I coudn't move when I tries and I heard a loud ringing noise the whole time. then I forced myself to wake up after a while.

I was going to thry this shit last night but after reading all of the bad experiences with it i litterally scared my self shitess of even going to sleep. And also watching insidious scared me shitless to do this

listen to this while you are doing this and falling asleep with super good headphones and you are 95% chance of lucid dreaming, or pineal gland dreaming. aka tripping naturally, or meditation.

Most reassuring post I've seen, def gonna try this instead of getting raped in the ass by demonsbtw 1st post.

this is what happened to me.... i got in bed laid there for about 15 minutes then my hands stated shaking and i got freaked out so i wiggled my fingers and woke up, i tried it again but this time i just sat on them so i wouldn't try and move them. So then i went back to sleep laying on my hands and this time some stuff actually happened. First i got this itch right below my eye and i ignored it BUT then after 5 minutes my eyes started going crazy like twitching all over the place and i couldn't move them, this went on for about 2 minutes and right at the end i got the craziest feeling it was like a weird fog just came over my eyes and i felt my breathing start to slow down and be more controlled and went into "sleep mode." then i thought to myself ohh shit this worked so opened my eyes thinking that i would be in narnia or something. but just woke up. i am def trying this again.

All true, sleeping wastes a third of your life unless you can lucid dream, but try skiing in your lucid dream. Unbelievable.

That is a good point, however I felt like a lot of people didnt know that they usually experience s.p. a couple times a night.

Sleep and dream are something that are really fascinating to me. When you realize how important it is and figure out your natural circadian cycles it really makes you think why people stay up until 4 in the morning partying all the time and only sleeping 3-5 hrs a night.

Just to clear up any apparent misconceptions after reading the comments. You experience sleep paralysis every night. You just dont know it because you are asleep. Incidious isn't about lucid dreaming its about something else where you physically leave your sleeping body (I forget what its called and frankly I don't know if its possible). And if your eyes start moving or twtching really fast, your going into the REM or rapid eye movement cycle. Which is when you begin to dream. I Still wouldn't recommend doing it this way though...

You pussy Wyndick. If you didn't wake yourself up you would have succeeded, tripping balls is a good thing

I can usually remember most of my dreams and have definitely had a couple lucid dreams. They all involved slaying pow or downhill bikes. I would love to be able to lucid dream at will.

so I am really hopefully not going to experience the super trippy and scary state of paralysis tonight, but I'm going to give it a shot. from what I've read in this thread it sounds hella scary, but we shall see.

Ya it's been mentioned but you have 3-5 20 twenty minute dreams a night. Also I had about 3 lucid dreams this morning. I woke up at 7:20 remembering my dream. Had a lucid dream. Woke up an decided to have another one. It was fun. If you tell yourself you can lucid dream or if you've been practicing it for a few years like I have been you can. It's very fun I love waking up having new memories.

sounds like some inception shit. i was talking to a kid whose roommate did it, the kid would draw circles on his hand to work as his 'totem'. if he saw them he wasn't dreaming, if he didn't see them he was. pretty insane.

Complete BS. I heard about this, then i tried it in a dream and the lights turned on and off.

I lucid dream pretty frequently, and can remember a lot about dreams I have that Im not actively involved in.

It's definitely a trip.

I've kind of noticed a good way to get into lucid dreams that doesn't sound as terrifying as OP:

Wake yourself up 3 or so hours before you normally would. Don't set your alarm to max volume, just something you'll notice that will get you out of sleep. Then make a conscious effort to realize your awake real quick. Look at a light in you room, touch your face, something... Then go right back to sleep... thats it.

When you first go to bed, it can take a while for you to get through your stages of sleep to REM, where most of your dreaming occurs. By waking up deep into your sleep cycle, then going back to sleep, you break your REM cycle, then jump right back into it with a fresh dose of consciousness.

Try to look at your hands, clocks, things like that to get settled. Then have fun.

I dont know if i just dont understand fully what lucid dreaming is or if i just have it with all of my dreams.

I think during and can control all of my dreams. I can almost always remember my dreams. The best are skiing dreams ill go for like a k-fed on a rail and get the swap then be like "i still have time for another" and do like 2 more than go for the 2 off and just go 180 further and further and further till ive done an 8 off just because.

Its amazing

Round 2 tonight. I feel like its the future and dreaming is just another fun reality. Every NSer is going to bed wanting to dream about the next big thing. Tonight, I will try to dream about slaying a big ass jump and fucking bitches.

on the real though, this sounds interesting. kinda scared to go to bed now. will have to look more into this in the morning.

Just lied for like 10 minutes with my eyes open and perfect still. Went into it a little bit, couldnt move my body, super fucking weird. Didnt wanna try too long. Anyways going to sleep for real now. night

So you can't wake up and you just hear fucked up things? Next night I'll put alarm for like 1 hour after I'm trying it, so i won't get traumas haha

Ive never had a lucid dream but it seems too good to be true,. It doesn't actually seem like you're awake right?
