Ok so at my school we have this club called the Gay Straight Alliance (A.K.A. GSA)

well basically all this is is a bunch of faggots who make a big deal about being gay and "different" and now if anyone at our school even hints about something gay they are suspended.

One of my friends got in trouble for using the word "faggot" over myspace.

pretty ridiculous how much power the gays are gaining in the current world. I mean i dont hate gays but this shit bothers me. Its becoming sort of outrageous.

Do any of your guys schools have a problem with this shit.

Anyway i just thought id let you know how gay Shorecrest Highschool is.

Ya, some of that shit is ridic.

Their logic is set the bar high, that way when it falls short, people at least treat them alright.

thats kind of outrageous and over the top...like..being suspended by using it for slang...seems like GSA might be over extending thier power at your school......not all GSA programs are like that from my understanding

at my school, GSA is a great organization for those who need it. THere are a lot of kids out thier that find an identity through GSA when they would have a lot of social trouble otherwise and they do social outreach programs as well as awareness days and its just a safe place for kids to go to who are having problems like that due to their sexuality...ive never actually been to a meeting or anything but I've casually talked to a couple kids that are pivotal members and seen what they do at school....and it seems like a nice thing if thats what your into....they get a lot hate at school though because of all immature close minded people that cant accept differences...

but sucks about the kid getting in trouble for using faggot on myspace....thats just a little harsh in my opinion....
 
Yeah man my school had that too, with the whole day long silence for homos too.. Those days were the best, go up to them while they are being silent and start talking shit, its great

but seriously, i cant believe that can happen from myspace! i say shit like that all the time, right in front of teachers, etc. our school has a gay team as well, its called GLOW (gay lesbian or whatever), and we have some serious flamers but they dont bother me, because they havent done shit as rediculous as they have at your school.

When i was in school, no one admitted to being gay. No one. Even the people we knew were gay...we just called them gay behind their backs, but they'd still take girls to homecoming.

I think you have no idea what you are talking about. At all. period. There is still way too much stigmatism attached to gays, and calling them Faggots and Homos isn't helping them be who they are any more than if you call Mexican a Beaner or a black person a Nigger. Yeah, maybe the GSA did go too far in one instance at one lousy fucking high school in some lame ass town, but that is no reason to go making stupid claims like that.

The only thing I don't like is the whole Day of Silence crap. Its a choice to come out, but in no way is it worth a day of silence. The reason they don't come out is because intolerant parents and other people don't respect other peoples' live styles, so maybe they should change it to Kick an Intolerat Person in the Balls day.
 
Are you serious? Minorities at best get a voice, and thats what makes our country great, because we arent dominated by a immovable majority.
 
coming from san francisco, both one of the most liberal places in the country and gayest area known to man, this is just weird. My gay friends don't care at ALL if I use the word fag or say thats sooo gay or something like that. It's such common language and yes it's bad but its not like it's going away anytime soon. I say that shit all the time.
 
my school does the same thing. it's, in my own words, constitutional raping bull-fucking- shit. fuck.

anyway, last year a group of people got in trouble for facebook pictures with alcohol.

school gets involved in everything now. If they see me as being unsatisfactory for a club due to my online actions, I can be kicked out.

If I get a traffic ticket, I can lose my parking privileges. (It bothers me that they haven't specified whether this only involves moving violations.)

One of the most disturbing to learn would be the "kid" everyone constantly gets invites from on facebook. basically, his profile suggests he's moving here and starting school here and he wants to meet people etc. so of course people add him... the only thing is a lot of people claim it's actually a cop trying to gain access to students pages for their own reasons. the school and the police team up to get kids like this.

this is my last year in highschool, and I can't wait to get out into a community where I can defend my own rights. I feel like I have no control within my own town.

 
shit yeah, people are using the internet to invade everyone's privacy nowadays. there have been news stories about companies that will determine whether or not an applicant gets a job by checking their facebook or myspace or whatever they might have and using that as a source of their worth rather than their resumes. it's a fucked up world.
 
I don't have a problem with gays. hell I think it should be encouraged for them to adopt children but a kid getting suspend for saying faggot over a website that has nothing to do with the school is fucking ridiculous and an over extension of the schools power.

Im pretty sure they are not taking over the world either cause if they were marriage and all that shit would be legal. and yeah that is kinda harsh that they suspended you for just saying something, thats pretty over the top. I bet they are just trying to make a point.

You're right, you could. But if we're to accept that, shouldnt we also think similarly for other situations that could produce miraculous children, but dont? Theres a strong argument here then for not using contraception. Heck, if you masturbate, you are killing sperm that COULD make up half the genome of one of the centuries greatest leaders... or dictators. What if by NOT aborting a pregnancy you instead bear the next Charles Manson or Adolf Hitler?

Making useless speculation about what a fetus could become is beyond ridiculous. Beyond the flawed logic, so much of nurture and development go into what shapes and forms a person that its impossible to say that X will become Y in this way. Please, use logical arguments...

i go to catholic school, and if you are openly gay (not like singing showtunes and wearing makeup) but if ou come out of the closet, im pretty sure you can get in some kind of trouble. i know that a girl got asked not to come back because she was pregnant, and premarital sex is against the church, so we dont really have to deal with that shit. a couple teachers get real pissed about it tho. i dont have a problem with homosexuals, but i do have a problem with people overreacting and being way too sensitive. its like when people say they want mexican food, and some hispanic guy gets all pissed off.

Did you know that from the 20's to the early 60's if you displayed any homosexual tendencies you could be thrown in jail simply because you were gay? Police would sit in bars, and if a man complimented them or struck up a conversation with them that the police deemed homo, that said person could be dragged away to prison for up to 20 YEARS??? The fact that they are not allowed to marry, socially stigmatized and looked down upon, is reason enough. Not to mention the countless kids disowned, killed, and beaten simplly because they were gay. So yeah, I think they do need an MLK (who also fought for the rights of gays, bet you didn't know that) because people like you and most conservatives need to wisen up.

the gsa at my school stays out of the way and is a good place for people to go if they need to go there, people rip on them for all being homos but they don't take over the school and try to make themselves recognized for being unique, i mean 10 percent of the population is gay, it's not that unique, good for them for confronting society and admitting they like penises but they don't have to make themselves so victimized, there are certainly more hate crimes against black people then there are against gay people. i have nothing against gay people for the record, i more dislike people who say gay people are taking over the world.......
 
apparently you dont get the purpose of a gsa. its not to show off how gay they are (which btw how can you be more or less gay. you are or arent)

the purpose of the gsa is to get rid of that first part. PEOPLE RIPPING ON THEM FOR BEING HOMOS. which its still considered socially acceptable to do. is it socially acceptable to laugh at niggers? how about the chinks? or the spics? no. you dont do that. but oh making fun of the faggots is ok?

depends. if your saying "your gay" as in you suck or some other negative connotation then yeah its bad. but saying that a person is gay as in "elton john is gay" no its a politically correct term.
