Gays are taking over the world

When I was in 10th or so grade faggot was a very popular swear word, but we really never had any problems with the school or with gays complaining. I dont think our GSA club had more than a couple people in it anyways, one of my friends actually turned out to be the gayest thing the school had ever known by senior year haha, and he never even mentioned GSA~
 
if your worried about the GSA suing people just tell tha GZA that they pronounce it the exact same as his name, and he will just have to round up the clan and kill everybody in the GSA cuz he cant have people thinking about a bunch of fags every time you here protect ya neck. TIGAA STYLE!!!!
 
I still dont see the problem, I work at one of the gayest stores in the mall (Puma, only like two people are strait) and they all call themselves fags or gays
 
I have absolutely nothing against gay people at all, especially because they are born that way but it kinda makes me angry when my lesbian cousin uses the term "thats so gay" or "your soooo gay" I just dont get it.

I don't know if this has been mention yet or not, but this is a PERFECT example of how desensitized the country has become to the word "fag" and "gay". These two words are almost never used in their proper context, for example "braaa you're such a faggooottt" - one straight male to another whilst discussing how well they treat their significant other. While this use does have a negative connotation, it is not being used to degrade a homosexual, nor is it meant to cause any real offense. If it were "hey faggot, you suck..... dick" - one straight male to one homo, it would be a different story, and while this example is a plausible issue, it probably makes up a minority of the instances in which someone gets in trouble for using such a word.
When you think about the different uses for the words, it actually makes no sense to punish people for using these words in harmless situations, since we have been so desensitized to them that its a matter of free speech and not discrimination... (IMO)... take jewish people as an example, the anti-Semitic slang for them (I'm not going to say it, which pretty much proves my point as I'm sure a lot of people will be offended) is barely mentioned, though it is used to speak down on them you never hear them going on big anti word crusades like the gays, and in some instances black people (although they do have better reason), in other words, they don't bitch, we don't hear the word, when we hear it its that much worse. I'm sure if gay people didn't use the word faggot themselves (and they do, I've heard it) and black people didn't greet eachother with "my niggaaaa" then on the odd occasion when someone uses it, the effect will be that much more offensive, and hence unacceptable. Its a good point you bring up. Personally, I treat words like "gay" and "faggot" like "nigga" - I dont use them and leave it up to the discretion up to to whom they might offend. Whenever homosexuality becomes universally accepted (and no, its not currently, we're a looooong way off in this country: Alabama, need I say more?), then I think its just best to avoid using these terms. Besides, 'gay' is a pretty lame insult, if you really want to tell you're straight friend that his clothing style is wack, I'm sure you'd be able to whip up a better dis with a little thought and wit.
 
i never said anything about more or less gay, i said that they don't try to make themselves victimized within the institution in order to gain respect for their different sexual orientation. also you have no idea the type of school i go to, they are the most entitled, stuck up, rich kids that will rip on gay people no matter what happens, they fucking rip on everyone. did i say i did? no, you're putting words in my mouth, i said i have no problem with gay people and the gsa just like i have no problem with black people, asians, mexicans, or any hated on race. i hear you about it being socially acceptable but the point of the gsa at my school is to offer shelter for gay, straight, bi, any sexual orientation and for them to come together (no homo.....jk) and discuss their problems. the rich kids will rip on them no matter how influential they are because they are racist w.a.s.p's. so don't put words in my mouth and alter the meaning of my post because my standpoint has always been that i have nothing against minorities....................................except them damn kenyans..............jk

Also I would agree with the statement that minorities have more power, and with the way our constitution is being manipulated its gotten worse and worse. Nothing against foriegn ppl or minorites for the most part, but I believe that gay/lesbians inparticular are taking it a bit far. Honestly, like zach said im not necessarily against gay's but they don't need to make clubs that dominate our schools, and culture and parade around struttin their stuff.

they didn't ever bitch, it was white people who saw it and prevented it, a long time ago when the black people complained nobody listened to them, now it's getting better, just like it will with gay people, it will be a progression. humans have a hard time with sudden change, they require time to ease into new ideas such as civil rights, it took a fucking long time for us to be tolerant of black people and many still aren't. in time i believe that calling gay people faggots will be the same as calling black people niggers, a big fat "no no," it will just take time. gay people are trying to act out too fast and they're getting the biggest resistance from republicans and god-squatters, both people whose ideologies are based on tradition and preserving the old ways. i think tolerance of minorities takes a lot of time and gay people are the ones trying to act out the fastest. this may seem far fetched but i think in several years there will be more tolerance than there is now

why should what i do on my free time annoy any of you? you should also realize that the percent of gay people who are basically what you would call "fags" is so small. its sad they represent the whole community because its not an accurate representation at all.

This post is not in response to the original thread btw. i think that that is a little rediculous what they are doing (getting people in trouble over myspace), but realize that it was probably the school that got them in trouble, not the GSA.

watch when after highschool, some of your friends will probably come out as gay and your perspective on this stuff will most likley change
