Maybe because more passes. Crashes suck they just stop races.

Moto gp typically will no stop a race for a crash unless the rider is immobilized and in a risky area of getting hit again.

almost never happens.

Interesting, I had no idea. I was more commenting on F1 crashes. I think I need to watch more MotoGP I keep hearing good things.

My mistake. Thought you were talking moto gp. There is a reason Lewis Hamilton has made it clear moto gp racers are much “harder” individuals than f1 pilots

Race thoughts for Melbourne?

Exciting to see Mercedes up there. Tough day to be a Ferrari fan they really didn't show up in qualifying. Honestly most excited to see what stroll can do this race going to be a real first test for the guy. Reliability issues pending.

hoping max has to retire so we can ultimately watch AM, merc, and ferrari fighting it out for the podium. seems like AM consistently has had better race pace than merc so we will see how everything plays out.

if max retires, i’m expecting a merc win. mercedes is extremely strong in melbourne. their car is really well suited to melbourne. fully expect george it lewis to win if max retires. there isn’t much overtaking in melbourne so i don’t expect checo to win either.

George Russell is the worst driver I kind of think Mercedes cars are fine and the drivers are just shit because Hamilton has lost interest and clearly regressed and noone with a good car has ever been as shit as Russell.

3 Red flags, and chaos at the end. Truly an FIA special, where even the winner calls it "a bit of a mess".

Total shitshow. That last lap safety car was ridiculous. FIA has been a joke since 2021 Abu Dhabi that gave Max the title. So inconsistent. I try to give them the benefit of the doubt but it’s a total crap shoot what call they make that race.

this was a fucking shitshow but was so funny to watch. the two alpines crashing along with stroll locking up made me laugh sm

Still better officiating than NASCAR. They just go full WWE to make more wrecks happen in the closing laps.

The albon red flag at the start could have been avoided as well his car was off before people had cleared the gravel. Tough look for the FIA this weekend. If I was alpine I'd be looking for some kind of pay out after having both cars in points, two both cars being in a body bag.

well it does answer the question of "when do the two frenchmen who used to hate each other crash into each other"

3 races.

I mean, hardly any evidence they "hate" eachother. It's was just their parents that instilled that in them long time ago when they thought only one Frenchmen could be in F1. To call that crash intentional would be wild.

wouldn’t doubt if merc pulls ahead of AM eventually. merc just needs to stop crying and being so overdramatic like they didn’t dominate for 8 years straight basically

It's so boring. I've started watching endurance racing so hungry for F1.

What series, guessing IMSA? Only keep up slightly with WEC for le mans, outside of that they don't do many races and none are 24hr.

WEC. A good friend of mine who's really into F1 tipped me off about it. Full engine rebuilds are a common occurrence, a pit stop doesn't make or break a race. And the cars are stunning.

499P & Peugeot both look amazing.

The Peugeot suckkkkkkssssasss lol. Does look cool though. Toyota put another whooping on the field again today.

At least they didn't get another 1,2. Peugeot improving though, and could get a podium if they're lucky.

yuki ripping Q3 in basically the worst car in the grid?? honestly he’s really improved and i feel like in a year or two he’ll move onto a better team.

yea yuki is honestly so good he has so much potential and i think the main issue people used to have with him was his temper

I honestly forgot F1 even existed after this long ass break

Max and Charles with identical times during Q1 was crazy

Is there a spring race tomorrow? Otherwise can’t imagine why he has pole

spring format been changed. pole is for the race on sunday, the spring quali was today and charles also took pole but perez won sprint

That was a fucking snoozefest.

The most exciting part of the entire race was the pit stop by Ocon.

Agreed street tracks can be a bit dull. Must have been their reasoning for that wacky sprint format.

such a shame that 2/3 american tracks in the roster kind of blow. 3/3 tracks are billowing with celebs who don’t give a fuck about formula one, maybe just shaq and a few others. and the fact that it’s cheaper to travel out of the country to see a formula one race than it is in our own fucking soil!!!

Yeah they do.

COTA used to be cheaper when f1 wasn’t as big. Grandstand ticket used to be $550 for a weekend. $160 used to buy you a general admission weekend ticket. Haven’t checked tickets in a few years

oh... theres more than just the 350?

this is assuming you don’t live in miami. obviously if you want to make it happen you can but the American ticket prices are just stupid and a money grab.

the averages don’t tell the full story but considering it’s about 5x more expensive on average to go to an american GP is ridiculous. the fact that the canadian GP averages $300 usd is fucking hilarious.

Fucking USA always screwing with prices.

Those Vegas tickets are 1 time event prices since its new no way that holds up annually. Pissed I bought the PS5 game new last year and didn't wait a year to be able to try the Vegas track is it as shitty as Singapore and Monaco? I don't mind Baku its at least managable and not crash every lap BS.

Still though it can't be like supply is limited.

F1 is in and NASCAR is out there used to be 30 races a year that motorsports fans coughed up big bucks for. NASCAR used to sell out hard core early 2000s and to sit high in the stands and not lose your hearing was a few hundred before all the other shit you spent. Texas and Miami getting that market makes sense.

Its mind boggling how there are so many people out there who can drop insane fuck you money on shit like this or anything really in Vegas. I took 3 fly to ski trips for maybe 4k combined almost 20 days hotels flights etc thats like going to 1 of these.

It's kind of surprising IndyCar hasn't picked up more of a following. It's far more entertaining racing than F1 but still a similar discipline, American centric, and has all their races in North America, typically in or around population centers. One would think the F1 fad would help them out.

AAA. 2000-2007 when it had its best chance of gaining popularity F1 USA was at Indianapolis. I think it was popular pre mid 90s and NASCAR having its huge boom. I talked to an old guy who was huge into motorsports and F1 and talked about the attempt to have a race in Vegas and some other cities in the 80s 4-5 US races almost happened and then it didn't.

I was pining for a return to Watkins Glen bc Indianapolis is the biggest shithole dumbfuck city in the US but they built Texas. Texas fucking rips in video games too awesome track and looks like plenty of good spots if you do attend.

Wish they did Miami the right way or it was a city course like Vegas.
