Obviously a troll post but at least put effort in. Firemen put out fires, not the police.

In all honesty, the facts that come out after tonight should be interesting to read.

Not a troll. The police are just standing around while people loot and set fires. Are you even watching the news?

I was just in the south in Mississippi and Lousiana for over a week TRUST me the poor black people were more respectable and educated and smarter and more upstanding and ethical than the poor white trash people.

And rioting like this is no big deal in the big picture. It should be a right of all people to gather and sometimes a small minority in a large crowd acts stupid and enabled and causes trouble. Do you want cops to shoot rioters?

Anyone on here ever been in the middle of a riot?

I was in the Vancouver riots in 2011 after the hockey game when my Bruins won. Just took my Bruins jersey off when I walked out of the arena and didn't sweat it and enjoyed watching the rioters walk past from a lobby bar at a Marriott and mocking them through the window in B's gear. Riots are awesome that riot was the shit another fan gave me a ride to my hotel so the cabs and public trans being shut down didn't inconvenience me either.

holy fuck are you for real? from what you just described, you weren't even IN the riot... you sat in a bar and watched it making fun of people...

There really aren't many people doing things. Mostly rogues, a few arsonists, and a whole fuck ton of photographers.

Why do they still have tear gas canisters that slowly release the gas? people just throw them back. They should use ones that quickly release it so there's no use in throwing it back. Hopefully there will be some highlight reels tomorrow.

Considering Brown had forcefully robbed a convenience store minutes before the altercation happened, I don't think it's that unreasonable to call him dangerous.

wilson was unaware of that when shit went down

i've been listening to cnn and i've been slightly surprised from the reports of what is goin down,

gunshots, multiple buildings on fire, multiple cop cars on fire, i mean this is insane

lol trust me i know fox, but its the exact opposite of what you'd expect from fox. The guy was arguing for Brown and the guy after him did the same thing. It was just weird because it seemed like a fox reporter on the ground and the dude started arguing with Megyn Kelly (would bang) about the case.

Seriously tho, this is kinda sick.. sounds bad but its fun to watch and drink beer to when it doesn't effect you.

(kinda like when the war in 2001 started and they live broadcasted the first bombing runs happening. Def wasn't drinking yet haha)

I just started trying to follow both cnn and fox and it seems to me like fox is trying to focus more on the story part and cnn is really switching between the live shots and the story but focusing on the live riot shots now

Same, the tone of voice between the two is crazy. Coop was talking super sad and down, Megs going shouting and getting heated haha

i mean i would consider myself a fairly conservative person but people on fox news are beyond crazy and literally have no chill. coop is on site and has been doing shit like this for years, meg is some crazy newcomer who cannot handle her surroundings and has been moulded into a fairly damaging reporter similar to bill oreilly. i mean my dad is even more republican than I am and he finds oreilly embarrasing

One of the CNN reporters just got hit with a rock.

This whole thing is definitely looking worse than the riots that broke out when things initially went down in Ferguson.

Listening to the scanner it sounds like these "protestors" just want vengeance and not justice.

It's a shitshow out there and I hope no cops get injured or killed. These looters, I couldn't give a shit about them.

Wilson 100% knew that a man matching Browns exact description, clothes and all, had just robbed a convience store and had stolen cigars. Wilson noted that Brown had cigars his hand when he first approached him. Brown also had the yellow socks, shorts and red hat that matched the robber. Wilson knew brown had just robbed the store.

Dont spread wrong information you jackass

same dude that has the status went to wal mart to buy American flags to burn. Posted pics of the flags, but not burning flags.

These people are embarrassing. Nothing more to it really. Unfortunately they're doing a good job at the (mostly extremely unfair) stereotype that black people are savages living in the ghetto who can't coexist with the rest of society. 99% of black people are great men and women but these 1% are really blowing it in Ferguson right now.

So is this still going on? I turned it off at midnight.

Also the thing that pissed me off the most was the bottom headlines/ticker kept saying something like, Officer Darren Willson, white, not indicted for gunning down black, unarmed teen in Furguson. Stop throwing the fucking race of the two people in my face. If they actually want to fix the system, dividing the country between black and white is not going to do it.

Ignoring the racist underpinnings of our society won't help, either.

The real issue here has nothing to do with the grand jury's decision. The real issue is the fact that an entire community feels like the police are out to get them. It's not unjustified (check out some of these numbershttp://www.motherjones.com/politics/2014/08/10-insane-numbers-ferguson-killing). The real thing we should be talking about is what conditions led us to be in the situation that we're in today. Not about how MB was a 300 lb "thug," not about how the protesters in Ferguson are "savages" (honestly NSG, I'm pretty surprised and disgusted at how much racism you're willing to produce/tolerate), but what could lead a community to react so strongly to something like this.

I have no opinion on the current case because I have not been following enough to weed through what are facts and what is made up. But, Utard is making a good point here. The community should not feel like it is them verses the police, however that is what police work has turned into. Are they protecting and serving the community? Or is it the government henchmen verse the rest of the community?

I'm not trying to ignore it. I'm just not trying to have it shoved down my throat. I realize there is a problem, the problem is cops shooting innocent people.

Police need to be held accountable. I completley understand that putting on the uniform means one day they may not come home. But you still need to be held accountable for your actions. If Wilson acted with probable cause, he was innocent, but there are so many shootings that go uncovered, unnoticed, and nobody cares about those.

When the media pushes racism, it doesn't help the racist underpinnings of our society you talk about.

I am the youngest in my office by at least 10 years. Everybody is >35yrs old. All of them are obviously siding with the police. I say obviously because it seems like such a old school opinion. I do not know all of the facts and i'm not going to pretend I do like everybody else. But, what is evident is how racist they are. They wouldn't admit it, but all of their reasoning for being ok with a cop killer is them being racist subconsciously. Every point is "well he was robbing a store" or "look how these people are looting they're animals" and so on. No talks about self defense or the law on when somebody can shoot. All of their opinions tend to be based on race.. Maybe it is the media putting these ideas in their head idk but the mentality of the cops verses the community is horrible.

I cant tell if youre agreeing with me or disagreeing. But either way I agree with you. The idea that cops are against the people theyre trying to protect is a problem. Cops killing innocent people is a problem, no matter what those people look like. This should be a cops v innocent issues, not white cop v black innocent.

Yes, let us take the word of one man who was in the south for an ENTIRE WEEK. Obviously it means you have enough experience to give an educated opinion on the topic.

Rioting is not a big deal in the big picture? You realize that with these riots the message that Michael Brown's parents tried to get out will be lost? The mainstream news will cover the riots and neglect the importance of the changes the parents want to instill.

Dude rioting is not a big deal unless the cops open fire on the rioters like Tianamen Sq. Powerless people have no other form of expression than to riot.

And if people can riot over losing a sports game for no reason what so ever than I think its OK for the folks in Ferguson to riot given the circumstances.

Again just a lot of hot air on here from rich white kids who have never been in a riot and have never spent time in a community that isn't 95%+ white.

Dude 90% of the people in the streets are trying to protest like MLK Jr but sometimes it doesn't always go down on this.

You don't think there were plenty of demonstrations by black people last night without any rioting or looting?

A small 5% or less of the crowd can turn a peaceful protest into a riot with the other 95% powerless to stop them often. Thats why you can't crack down on riots the two are two closely related and intertwined.
