Hah word. I only do 90 max on the turnpike in PA. But on 219 I've hit 120 in my SATURN station wagon... thing is a beast.
 
alot of cars have governors on them, so that when you hit a certain speed, a computer kicks in and you just can't go any faster...even if the engine could...and most cars are set at around 220km...
 
115 in my subaru H6 with a ski rack and it was still going strong, I slowed down because it was at 3 in the morning and I couldn't see very far. I'm sure it can do at least 130 though, I'll have to go check one of these days.

dont get me wrong by no means would i consider the s2k a bad car. i just want to set the numbers straight.

and a few faster cars for equal or less: neon srt4, 2k5+ 5spd mustang gt, 03/04 mustang mach1's when they came out. its definitly an impressive little car for the price but it could use some more torque.
 
thanks man.the srt4 is fast, with its 205 hp turbocharged engine, but not as quick as an s2000.

me too. i didnt take the time to check the srt4 specs before i posted but i think it would be a drivers race between the 2. heres the C&D report on the neon.

i know magazine numbers arent everything which is why i believe whoever was the better driver would win between the neon and the s2k but i did find this quote kinda funny "It's hard to criticize a well-priced car [srt-4] that can smoke a number of higher-priced sports cars (the Honda S2000 and Nissan 350Z come to mind)."
 
i believe taht you have gone that fast but the is NO way you chriped the tires, that may have been your shitty shjifting grinding the clutch or trans.
 
i went 100 the other day and im not gonna lie, its pretty damn fast and not really worth trying to go any faster, especially on the highway i was on (128 in mass)which is probably the one that alev was talking about i think because i think hes from rockport or somewhere nearby.
 
ive hit 124mph in my jeep zj ansd about 118 in my buddies tj with the soft top, i sounded like the world was comming down around me!

yeah the 350 z is much heavier with a 6 cylinder, and way high priced, and not too quick compared to 4 cylinders

I am not gonna say an s2000 isn't fast, but I do find it incredibly difficult to believe that you were still in 2nd at 125mph/200km/h.

I have a honda prelude which is also a 2 litre vtec etc etc and it redlines at 7800 at about half that speed.
 
do you know how you chrip tires or even what it is? if you have a short throw gear box and a car that isnt weighed down by a bigger sized engine, its a pretty easy thing to do if you can throw your shifts and get the clutch through fast.

ive done it in a 99 saturn sc1 haha im pretty sure a 2002 s2000 will get the job done no sweat..
 
i've got a prelude, h22 with vtec, altho i'm only 15, my brother drives me in it a lot, i can say, vtec=THE SHIT, and we hit 100 and some in like 4th gear, its got a racing chip too so that might of had something to do with doing that in 4th. either way, fun car.

Most ppl that know cars and such know that C&D and most car mags post slower trimes than normal.

For instance when they tested the new jeep srt8 they had it at about 5sec 0-60 and 14.8 in the 1/4 mile, when in real world ppl are seeing the numbers more of 0-60 in about 4.6 and the 1/4 in about 13.2
 
the preludes come their fastest with 194 hp and a obviously heavier body(97 or 98-2001), as as a lower red line mark. the vtech kicks in at high rpms and you go, trust me, it happens

supercharger sacrifices weight as well as stock engine output.
 
125 or atleast thats what the speedometer tops out at. Probably going faster. That was until my car died. It's all good though, it was an automatic now I drive a stick. Sticks are the shit.
 
probably like 160 (k) on a wet highway in a windstar with my wreckless brother.

but, they best fast experience was chasing the nuts for trucks blinged out car down the highway.

the truckand camper we were in, along with 4 dudes, was not motorin too fast, redlining at about 125 to be exact, but nutsfortrucks pulled away

damnit nuts for trucks hahahah
 
190km/h in a race against a motorcycle.. it was soooooo dope. here's the story (keep in mind.. it's km/h)

i was on the way home from a baseball tournament when i was 15 or so, and my dad was driving me and a buddy. we're on the freeway and my dad comes upon a bikers with some incredibly hot looking chick on the back (tight pants, hot ass) and we start going faster and faster. before you know it, we're at 190 or so (my dad's the kind of guy that just bolts and doesn't make eye contact but just keeps looking forward and speeding away). so in a final attempt to get the best of us, the guy trails a bit behind and burns by us, throwing a fuckin WHEELY at like 200+. most insane thing i've ever seen, and especially with a chick on the back.

i know i just needed some numbers to back it up. although i did think their 5.5 0-60 and 14.0 1/4 for the s2k were quicker than normal. mags and sites offer a general basis to get an idea of what the car will do. but it does depend a huge amount on the driver of the car.
 
and another crazy story.

jessbuff was driving myself and lanks home one night, probably around 3am and we were bookin it down this boulevard with a 60?? speed limit (again, km/h) and we were probably going about 160-170. lanks looks over and says 'man, if there were a cop out here, we'd be sooooo fucked', and jess responds 'hah, if there were a cop, i'd smoke his ass.'

LOW AND BEHOLD......

we burn through this intersection and there was a cop waiting at his light over on the left side. 'OH SHIITTTTTTT!' we all think, as we start to slow down, but realize it's wayyyyy too late. the cop turns on his sirens, starts to pull over to chase us, but realizes we're fuckin gone, turns off the sirens and continues on his way. holy SHIT! we were going too fast for a cop to chase us. it was nuts..
 
have you ever seen the vids where the turbo'd r1 or busas go about 325 kmph? they are doing wheelies at about 300kmph cause they have sooo muhch ppower!
 
Well uh no dumbshit the article say its not faster than a stock car, I can read they taught me that. You quoted sub 13, and a sub 4 60. You my friend are a dumbass.
 
well, seeing as how my s2000 is stock, and could beat the shit out of anything you drive, the article is irrelevant to the conversation at hand.

hands down, supercharger in small cars sacrifices almost too much to be worth it. and most of the time it even sacrifices the power steering of the car
 
i doubt that they would make it so you lose the PS, have you ever drivin a car w/o power steering? Im not talking the pum[p is going, but a car that was not even ever SETUP for ps? its a pain inthe ass bigtime! Normally you have you custom fab a bracket to move the PS, and many time you do lose your ac.
 
235km/hr in a 2004 subaru impreza ( not the wrx model)... the only aftermarkt upgrade is the bumblebee exhaust( no header.)
 
my best friend has a brand new BMW and we always accidentally hit like 110 on the highway and we dont notice b/c its such a smooth running car.
