Does it matter if God exists?

You can't prove evolution, because you're 14. They teach you evolution in biology 11. Humans are not a bunch of compressed elements. We are the creation of evolution, the most sophisticated example. I was christian, now i'm not. I found it to be useless to mutter words to thin air before dinner. See what i'm saying?

Making the claim that atheist governments are more violent implies atheist people are more violent..doesnt get much more basic than that
 
No, you are making a false comparison. Thats like saying all people who live in Israel are Jewish, its not true. If i say the isreal government is violent, it doesnt mean I think jewish people are violent.
 
I have taken many classes on the subject. and gravity is a theory and a law. the theory explains the law. just because the universe can be explained by the big bang doesn't make it fact but theory. same as my views. The gravity is basic physics one bud, and youd be surprised what you learn when you take quantum mechanics at a highly accredited university.

I agree the theory of evolution makes sense but so does what the bible says. there is no solid proof either way. just becuase things line up doesn't make it true. Correlation is not causation.

Evolution is a scientific theory... which means it was a hypothesis that has been backed up by a plethora of evidence. It FULLY explains the diversity of life on our planet. It is a unifying theory of biology and no reputable scientist disagrees with it.

It is a theory in the same sense that cell theory is a theory, or germ theory, or gravity, or atomic theory.

You clearly do not understand how evolution works or else you wouldn't be having this argument.

Please provide me with one article published in a scientific journal that provides any evidence for creationism. Until you can do that, shut the fuck up.

But the big bang theory ≠ the theory of evolution. Sure, evolution is based around the assumption that the world was created billions of years ago, but it can be applied and proven in the modern day.

That doesn't make sense to me, but maybe im missing something? The bible to me is a HUGE metaphor - a code of practice for life if you will... it shouldn't ever be taking literally IMO. A collection of stories based on experiences of individuals and THEIR personal interpretations of them.

As much as i hate the whole Genesis thing - i will admit the sequence of events are loosely correct in evolutionary science.
 
Which is something we have yet to hear from you as well. Instead of bringing up a generic argumentation theory, why don't you actually contradict anything I say? Give me one instance of where I have abused the burden of proof and put unnecessary restraints on you.
 
If God is a supreme being what makes you thinks our science can explain creation? and just because there are relationships among every organism doesn't mean it was evolved nor created.
 
thats true, evolution does take more time than natural selection. However, viruses can mutate into completely new forms in an observable period of time.
 
Once again, this is false. There is no difference between micro and macro evolution. You clearly lack a basic understanding of evolutionary theory.

We have witnessed many species evolve into different species in our lifetimes... not to mention the fossil record, which corresponds exactly with evolutionary theory.

I feel like this thread was made just so you could spark a fight with christians. If it wasn't then i'm sorry but that was what I felt from your first post. I believe this argument is being aruged by people who don't know what they are talking about. If you do want to believe in God cool, I do. If you don't want to cool, it's YOUR choice. If you want to argue about something like this you're not going to get anywhere by saying a fact and then insulting their beliefs.

How could plants exist on the third day, before the sun was present?

“Light” existed before the sun. What light source did God use to mark the first three days?

Since the seas were also formed before the sun, why didn't they quickly freeze? Why didn't the “water above” fall to the ground as snow?

Did Earth initially move in a straight line, or did it orbit the position of the yet-to-be-created sun?
 
Each one is a separate theory, be it proven or otherwise. When debating evolution, you must make distinctions between all three. That being said, I'm not entering into this shit show. You kids do your own research and come to your own conclusions about this stuff.
