i find the first half of your statement interesting. if man is accountable to god because he created us, then is he not accountable for all the destruction man has created because he created us? wouldn't it be extremely irresponsible, and imperfect should our superior being create a creature with the ability to destroy so much? does he not own any personal responsibility? guilt? remorse? further more, why should such a superior being forgive such destruction because someone purely works through the will of god, as you say you do? should someone like hitler or osama be forgiven because they committed their sins in the act of loving their god?(irregardless of their religious faith) be granted access into your "heaven" or be forgiven?
i think if you want to be agnostic, go for it, because no one can disprove a god creating the universe, as much as we can invest time into disproving the christian religion, and it's fallacies, it's indecisiveness throughout thousands of years, it's degradation of humanity.
the number of innocent victims of religion are greater than any war. children beaten to death in the name of god, to drive the evil spirit out. women and men stoned, and burned, and hanged, beaten, whipped. who gave you the authority to point the finger, the blame? who gave you the right? if god's will was so cruel, then perhaps he is not so perfect. unless then of course, you're willing to admit that man is merely an animal, with animalistic tendencies, much apparently like their own god.
