It's hilarious that you want to act all super educated and informed, and you're so lazy and poorly researched that you don't even know that the "official 911 report" doesn't even refer to building 7......not at all. Nowhere is it posited by anyone affiliated with the "corrupt government controlled group think tank" that building 7 collapsed due to steel columns/beams being definitively "melted". Nowhere. Go ahead, you tell me to turn to the page where it says otherwise, my copy is right here. Google "9/11 Commission Report Building 7".
I love all the people who've seen Loose Change, Zeitgeist, and any of the other dozen 9/11/larger conspiracies doc's, and visit prisonplanet, and with a straight face cite websites who flat out, outright declare their bias, and want to talk down to everyone.
The Commission Report was clearly a PR move, and an attempt to pacify those outraged, it's essentially a given that it contains both minor and major flubs. The thing is, is that those flubs are centered around protecting those that failed to do their jobs on a level even approaching competence, and also to mitigate ire at the fact that systemic shortcomings and sloppiness and laziness and complacency allowed the events to play out the way they did.
It is absolutely correct and patriotic to question the events that occurred, and how, and why, and to demand answers/transparency from those that are supposed to prevent such things from happening. It's a reasonable reaction to reject the conclusions of an investigation conducted by the very people who stand to lose/gain the most based on the findings. The problem comes in when people approach this and other issues with their own agendas, conscious or otherwise. There's even a sort of arrogance in play when people make claims about the impossibility of "about 20 A-Rabs" pulling off an attack like that. It's almost nicer to think that only "we" would be capable of inflicting such damage.
And there are many parallels between the "truth movement" and the creationist movement, the most obvious being that the burden of proof is somehow magically shifted in an epic logical fallacy, and secondly that as various truther theories are shown to be unequivocally false ("No plane hitting the Pentagon" for example was a crux in the original Loose Change, and it was totally removed in the second version for example) they walk it back and just change the theory. It's identical to the whole "god of the gaps" concept, whereas as we learn more about the planet, universe, and ourselves, "God" becomes smaller and smaller, and inhabits the places where Science cannot (yet, in many cases) definitively explain a phenomena, so creationists go, "AHA! There's God!"
I don't pretend to know what happened any further than this: People are people, and people cut corners, and are preoccupied with their own narrow existences, and are easily lulled into complacency sometimes with disastrous effect. Those same people, like almost all people, will do whatever possible to avoid shame, embarrassment, culpability, and/or punishment, even if they're 100% at fault.
