strange how in all the print interviews he sounds all gangsta but when you actually here him speak he's pretty chill.
 
Yeah I know, Oakley to Von Zipper seems pretty shitty. I liked his call out on Dumont's style though, pretty funny.
 
wow he comes off a lot better in an actual video than he does in print interviews, the writers must be trying extra hard to make him sound ghetto.

Mik seems like a pretty chill guy, stoked to finally see some new footy in L1, Tanner's movies.

Oh and big slow 5's are sexier than dub flips.

right, even though the sw 10 he did 5 years ago probably would have won the big air this year. Mik is so sick, I can't wait to see his shots in the new movies

Mik don't care, he just does his thing. That 10 at the open 5 yrs ago would sweep some comps still today. I would love to see more of Vanular, Rainville, Lolo, and Mik in contests...keepin it real.
 
i support him.. i mean its cool.. its new.. its FASHION... plus he is the first skier admitting it whilst other hide or deny it...

 
so i guess he's just not liking the octos or whatever is more of a personal thing then some hating...

I agree with alot of what he said and it seemed like he was more grown up then alot of pros today probably cause he did alot of stupid stuff he more mature I don't know... i can't wait to see some more of him in level 1
 
In the newschoolers(i think?) interview they sent him a questionair to fill out, and they didn't even bother to edit it, and they put it up exactly the way he typed it.
 
i just regained all respect for that guy, mad props for being straight to the point, saying whats up and being chill. very stoked to see that and i agree with almost everything he says about grabs and spins and NO POLES!!!!
 
Ever since Exact Science and Session 1242 I have been a fan of Mik D. and Ninthward in general. Such a dope company making good product and repping their personal style of skiing. And yes Mik D's sw 10 at the US Open 5 years back was the dopest switch 10 ever done on skis hands down, held the grab and stomped the living shit out of it. All you haters saying Mik D. can't keep up are wrong, hes already keeping up cuz he has more style than any of the other guys in the biz. And a really good interview, really informative, intellectual questions that Mik. D answered in a chill fashion. Dope shit.
 
i gotta say im pleasantly surprised by his demeanor..he seems like he would be a crazy thug bbut he seemed well thought out and rational

I hate comps......dont do comps shiest d. keep repping your style, you're pushing the sport where it needs to be. Who the fuck cares about spinning......i know i dont
 
ha, comps are gay as fuck now. he just wants to have fun skiing. when people like dumont and jon (even though i think jon is awesome) are talking about "training" and shit it seems more like some olympic or team sport rather than something just for fun, mik d just isnt into treating skiing like the super bowl. the day i refer to skiing as "training" is the day i quit. fuck that shit. i respect someone who can stay true to who he is rather than let judges run their skiing style. fuck comps.
 
maybe they think that approach to skiing is fun. it's possible. jon seems pretty happy about how stuff is going for him.
 
I,m a big fan of deschenaux overall style but I felt like a bunch of the tricks during the video interview looked like shit and werent stomped at all in the usual mikael style.

Pretty stoked on seeing actual footy of him in next year movies.

I never said ripping on dumont was chill, i love dumont and i think he is a real good representative for our sport. Im just saying that the rest of the interview with Mik went real well. On a side note though frontflip to misty 7 pencil steeze are kinda gay but ill wait until the trick becomes more developed to see its full potential. Sorry for the confusion.
 
well i'm buying tanners movie.

i completely agree with his philosophy. regained so much respect. nomen its one little day of him cruising the park, knowing his history do you really want to be saying those things. yea maybe he didn't back everything up completely there, but do you honestly think that man cannot back it up?
 
alright, so he ragged on dumonts aerials tricks, it needed to be done, that shits getting out of hand.

Basically kids like you gotta realize, mickael is coming from the side of skiing thats an art form, a personal outlet of style and kids like dumont and jon are more on the jock athletic side of things(though i think dumont got more style and flavour than any of them on his regular tricks).

Its all about perspective, how you look at skiing, so just cause you're hyped on the extreme side of the sport doesn't mean you gotta be comin on here talkin shit about mickael. Guy didn't do nosegrabs, cause until now he hadn't found an asthetically pleasing way of doin em. Being a pro isn't all about sheer ability and bag of tricks, theres alot more to it.

and Ced, that was interview footy, hardly intended to be A footage, though im sure you know how it goes with filming.
 
finally the good old mick, apex and me were watching stereotype yesterday... his style was way too good for the time
 
wow he seems like hes stuck in 2003 or hes scared of what is happening in skiing because he doesnt agree with it but certainly has done nothing to change the direction in skiing......not a huge Mik D fan i guess
