College acceptance thread 2012/13

Yeah, I get what you're saying. I know someone who goes to Colgate, and they love it as well. For some reason it bugs me when a person applies to a ridiculous amount of colleges and thinks that they're super cool because of their indecisiveness.
 
I've looked into this a lot and have decided completely on UBC!

I've already applied and everything and hopefully will get in! I just love Vancouver so much haha, and UBC is a world class school, so all around seems like a great school, and its relatively close to home (Calgary).
 
Does anybody know if there is anywhere good to ski around MIT? I'm not sure if i can get in, but i feel that I have a pretty good chance.I also am applying to Colorado School of Mines, UW Madison, University of Minnesota, and University of Seattle. Possibly Yale as well.
 
yea don't really need aid which is nice. I'm pretty smart if I may say so though. (4.1 GPA, havent taken SAT/ACT yet cuz im a junior) If i do good on the sat and keep up my grades do you think i could get in?
 
applying to florida state, penn state, james madison, virginia tech, richmond. still may add some others just to see if ill get in...
 
Look on Collegeboard.org to see the test scores range. That'll give you a good idea of the scores you need.
 
Don't do ED. When you ED, they know you're already decided and it'll be hard to changeyour mind, so you won't get much if any aid. EA is where it's at.

Will be taking 1 year of community college at Beaver Community College in PA to finish getting my "commercial pilot" associate's degree then will transfer to a 4 year while building flying time (setting the bar at U of U). ALSO, does anybody know what the process is like transferring from a community college to a 4 year? Do they still look at HS transcripts or what?
 
For sure. I just think of better things to come. The people who are truly your friends, will find you or you will find them. That's how I see it. It's gonna be fucking sad to leave. But bittersweet and I look forward to the new life. Freedom man, freedom.

I might apply regular decision if other plans don't work out. But it seems really, really heavy workload from what I hear. and no skiing
 
Considering transferring to CU from umich. I'll definitely apply, whether or not I'll actually switch is yet to be decided.
 
Yeah I applied early and got WUE for my SAT's (1960) which means I pay 150% of resident tuition as long as I maintiain a 3.0. My best friend also just got accepted and we're gonna live in a freshman apt with two other people and it will be magical.
 
Then you'll be just stuck in your home town with all the shit people and all of your friends are going somewhere else anyways.
 
I got accepted into the University of Nevada-Reno today! Pretty stoked on it! Although it's not really that difficult of a school to get into, I'm excited to finally have a set college I'm attending.

I was going to apply to Dartmouth and Montana state as well... but then I decided that since I already have tuition paid for at UNR, I might as well just go there. There's no need to pay application fees to colleges when I've already got quite the set up.

So I'm going to UNR! Wooooop!
