College acceptance thread 2012/13

Anyone else applying to UBC Sauder? Supplemental writing sucks so hard...

Submitted my application this morning for UofC, thinking about applying to Lethbridge as well since all I have to do is submit marks. Will possibly be starting my Ivey AEO app next week

Got accepted to Montana State University. Nice SAT + Montana State University = Instant Scholarship

I'm retaking it for more money, got 1660 the first time and wue is 1860. Still got a decent thing for the 1660 though.

GPA isn't outstanding, like a 3.8ish and my superscore for the ACT was a 33 (33,30,35,32,9)

i honestly Don't think I'm going to get into Harvard, I'm just applying for shits and giggles pretty much. I definitely have a chance at Brown and most of the other ones though

Hate to break it to ya, but a 33 ACT isnt a solid ACT score for those schools. I got a 32 on my ACT with a 3.5 at a prep school as well as many connections but I ended up at UVM. My brother who is much smarter than me got a 34 on his ACT, 2180 SAT w/ 1 try, and a 3.5 as well at a top day school in the Boston area and ended up at William and Mary, but was told not even to bother applying to many of your listed schools.

I dont know what your ECs or rest of your list looks like, but I would throw in a few safeties.

Take or leave my advice, I dont care. Ive been through the process before and these are just a few things I have noticed.

just applied to u of portland yesterday, waiting on a response for u of m duluth, and u of m morris. gonna apply to montana state, utah state, oregon state, winchester, and reno.

33 is 75th percentile for Brown and many other schools, and since I've been to several of their events (camps and workshops) and have their writing coordinator reviewing my essays, I think I have a solid chance haha. regardless, I have a few safeties that I'm almost positive I can get into no problemo, like George Mason and Drexel University.

My brother is at umd and absolutely loves it. /Duluth is such a great town and spirit's jump line is pretty fantastic for minnesota

got accepted to utah state and uvu (big whoop i know)

waiting on univ. of utah, U of Oregon, U of Chicago, and U of Texas

SUNY Oneonta- might be able to go for free, solid safety school

SUNY Binghamton -mother told me to apply

Middlebury- my pompous cousin didn't get in so I think it'd be funny if I did, I'd like to go but in terms of money it doesn't make sense.

Anyone who's applying to these same places, especially Geneseo and TCNJ, let me know.

Got into Carlson School of MGMT at the University of Minnesota. My parents told me they'd pay for ski trips every winter if I go there, obviously more excited for me than I am for myself.
