Have you thought about a Subie 2.5RS? My dad had a 2 door manual from 2001 and loved it. Sold it to buy an sti in 2008 and he still misses it.

I'm a big fan of Audi, have owned two in the last 10 years, currently have an older a4 6 speed, quite a bit of work done to it, just waiting for the turbo to go so I can go bigger, already have the supports parts just need to upgrade fueling. If I were to get a newer vehicle, it would be a b8.5 s4, the last I believe they are making in a manual, ton of fun to drive, and with a tune can be super quick, and also great for a ski vehicle. Save the manuals!

What is this job you do where you have to drive clients around? If you have to drive clients definitely not a WRX but they hold value well.
Cadillac ATS RWD version came in a manual.. CTSV would obviously be sick too. I love my G37 shit MPG but fun car to mod. But probably not fit the bill for shuttling clients.
The Audi A3 i think it was recently came in manual until 2018. Not fast but u could mod and I personally think having the last manual offered by a brand may not be a bad investment long term. Disclaimer-i hate Audis. I also hate BMW’s but they’re at least fun enough to drive to make their shit reliability halfway worth it

If you want a payment get a Tesla. Never experienced such immediate knock you back in your seat acceleration in a car before and I've been in some powerful cars. You can get it in AWD too so I bet it's great for skiing. One of my coworker and a band mate both have the 3 and I've heard zero complaints. It's new and fancy enough a lot of people are stoked to go for a ride.

I have not heard of any issues with the batteries in the cold. Ski areas have charging stations now and it looks like it is always available but you should be able to make it there and home with plenty of charge to spare.
Personally I think a Sienna would be a nicer car if I had to drive clients around and also wanted a ton of room for skiing. Especially if I had older clients that don't like to sit down low. Still fast enough to get a ticket too.

I drive a B8 Audi A4 Avant. I gotta say I'm a pretty big fan of the Torsen awd on Audi/VW's longitudinal engine cars (A4/S4/A6/7/8), because it can send even power to the front and rear wheels. The haldex system used on the TT/A3/S3/Golf R/Alltrack will have a haldex 4wd system that sends power between the front and rear, switching power from axle to axle once it detects more than 1/7th wheelspin difference. This means that it will shift from sending power back and forth, which may not be ideal for deep snow conditions, or if you get something with more power, it the car will be a lot easier to handle. The haldex system also has a pretty common failure point, being the clutch system to transfer power, which also needs to be serviced, where the torsen system does not. This is not to say the Haldex system is worse, because on high traction surfaces, it will have better fuel economy because it can send power directly to the front wheels.
Another thing to consider is that if you get a 2.0T Audi/VW motor (the EA888), make sure it either has the revised timing chain tensioner, or is like 2013 or newer. There are ways to tell through the timing chain cover without taking too much apart, but you should definitely check the vin to see if it has a defective engine, and if so, make sure there is paperwork/receipts to prove the new tensioner was purchased. Other than that issue with the 2.0T engines is carbon build up, so I would recommend that you get a catch can, especially if you're gonna tine it.

ive owned a 05 wrx for about a year now,love the car but if you're not mechanically inclined i would never own one. im constantly working on it and am super meticulous with it. they have a lot of problems and if you don't do regular maintanence on them they'll go on you. ive had a good amount of problems with mine. buts its not stock anymore and also the back seat is pretty much non existent if you're over 6 foot
so people saying wrx or sti i wouldnt recomend getting one unless you dont mind working on it yourself or you'll be throwing money at a mechanic

Fuck German whips. With all that money, id cop the best condition STI (not wrx) i could find and upgrade it to be more reliable than fast. Speeding is overrated. 300 plus horses is plenty. Any serious modifactions to increase power usually always ends in tragedy, wether its you or your engine exploding ... or both
