14019338:Tatehuizenga said:I was recommending a Focus ST, which compares to the Golf GTI, however the ST is less friendly for daily driving, however is more fun and fast. The GTI has a nicer interior but is not as fast and agressive. There is a big difference between a normal Focus and the Focus ST. Same thing goes for the Fiesta ST. Its like the Focus ST, but more compact.
14019339:liammorris said:So rice tho.. GTI over ST all day
14019341:Tatehuizenga said:Yeah I agree with you about that part. I just thought if OP was interested in hot hatches that he might want to consider those if he didnt know about them already. Mabe OP wanted something like that.
14019343:liammorris said:Yea very true ! I think the Fiesta ST is cool as fuck tho

And yeah I know buying a car isn’t a great idea but I love cars almost as much as I love skiing and since I’m moving to a place with shitty skiing might as well get something fun.
14020010:Sr_Hefe said:What year is your bronco. I've been looking to find a restoration Project and have wanted to find a 68-72 Bronco
14020012:Rum_Ham said:It was a 94.

You can get it in AWD too so I bet it's great for skiing. One of my coworker and a band mate both have the 3 and I've heard zero complaints. It's new and fancy enough a lot of people are stoked to go for a ride.
14020225:Rum_Ham said:Never. Hate the looks and it’s built like shit. Driven a model S and it’s pretty boring around town.

14020249:OregonDead said:To each his own. My coworkers roommate bought a Vet and then bought a new Vet and he still gets smoked by the Tesla 3. Vet guy thinks he's some sort of super skilled drag driver too and maybe he is but with direct drive and no shifting it is no contest. Performance package on the 3 is like a full second faster to 60 than an M3.
14020251:Rum_Ham said:Straight line performance on its own doesn’t make a car fun. A Miata is one of the most fun cars I’ve ever driven and it’s incredibly slow.
14020310:Enzob007 said:Miatas are fun but they get old real fast if you don’t live somewhere curvy or do lots of track/auto cross
14020318:OregonDead said:You can fit like 4 full sized adults in the passenger seat. Nobody will even try that in a normal sized car.
14020344:finder said:I drive a B8 Audi A4 Avant. I gotta say I'm a pretty big fan of the Torsen awd on Audi/VW's longitudinal engine cars (A4/S4/A6/7/8), because it can send even power to the front and rear wheels. The haldex system used on the TT/A3/S3/Golf R/Alltrack will have a haldex 4wd system that sends power between the front and rear, switching power from axle to axle once it detects more than 1/7th wheelspin difference. This means that it will shift from sending power back and forth, which may not be ideal for deep snow conditions, or if you get something with more power, it the car will be a lot easier to handle. The haldex system also has a pretty common failure point, being the clutch system to transfer power, which also needs to be serviced, where the torsen system does not. This is not to say the Haldex system is worse, because on high traction surfaces, it will have better fuel economy because it can send power directly to the front wheels.
Another thing to consider is that if you get a 2.0T Audi/VW motor (the EA888), make sure it either has the revised timing chain tensioner, or is like 2013 or newer. There are ways to tell through the timing chain cover without taking too much apart, but you should definitely check the vin to see if it has a defective engine, and if so, make sure there is paperwork/receipts to prove the new tensioner was purchased. Other than that issue with the 2.0T engines is carbon build up, so I would recommend that you get a catch can, especially if you're gonna tine it.

14021334:Rum_Ham said:Almost all M models pre 2008 are currently appreciating actually.
14021336:Mr.noodle said:as of now yes, but i don't think anyone will want anything to do with a 2006 bmw m3 w 200k in a few years. especially multiple owners and hooned by some college kid for a few years. low milage examples appreciate, I don't know if daily driven m3s will. when it comes time to sell maybe hit up hoovies garage or tavarnish, thats probably your best bet.
14021344:Rum_Ham said:I’m not some dickhead that’s gonna turn a clean car into a hooptie in 3 years. There’s a plenty of higher mileage e46 m3s going for reasonable prices now. I don’t really see them going anywhere but up as BMW continues to produce soulless turds like the new f8x.

Fuck German whips. With all that money, id cop the best condition STI (not wrx) i could find and upgrade it to be more reliable than fast. Speeding is overrated. 300 plus horses is plenty. Any serious modifactions to increase power usually always ends in tragedy, wether its you or your engine exploding ... or both

14021935:Rum_Ham said:I have a track car for actually going fast. Just want something quick and nimble for every day. STIs blow up way too much, I don’t feel like building a motor in a new car just to make it reliable. Gtis are competitively priced with clean STIs as are M3s and tons of other much nicer cars.
