Booing Tanner... wtf

Tanner deserved he actually should have even had a higher score in my thoughts, his runs technicality and style is an amazing step forward for our sport. I haven't always been a huge Tanner fan but what I saw last night was amazing, so flawless, and what he has been doing up in the real mountains is just awsome, I've come to realize Tanner is the man! Dumont man does he really even deserve second? not in my mind. sure he boosted but Tanner could have done that also but it would have made his run less complete. From what I've seen the last few seasong Dumont doesn't really give a shit about anything but $ when was the last time he had a truely dope segment in any vid with urban rails, big mtn., backcountry kickers?? wheres it been. Comps and making money are great but to have the respect and to do what Tanner was done in the industry just can't be won.

Big Ups to Tanner for the dope x-games run, and being a real skier.

People were booing and throwing snowballs becuase they realized how wack both Tanner's and Dumont's 1260s were.  That shit shouldn't fly.  Oh Dumont grabbed it!  For a tenth of his rotation he swiped at his ski, cool.  People hated on Tufflemeyer 4 years ago when he did ugly 1260s, now they should be on their knees fellatiating him.  And Andreas' hits look way tinier since he is a foot taller than both bitch bodied Tanner and micro man Simon put together.  If they had consistent diets when they were young instead of just straight seamen they would be at average U.S. height.

i was just about to make a thread about this man... honestly, thats not what this sport is about, thats why our sport keeps getting shittier and shittier cause we have little punks that think they know everything. Honestly they both threw down, but Tanner's run was fuckin mint, more hits, harder tricks, landing stomped... dumont just had amplitude over tanner. But when a guy goes out and throws down that hard and wins, dont fuckin boo him, put yourself in his ski boots for a second... trained his fuckin ass off to win, threw down, stoked, told dumont hes fucking amazing and everyone is like BOOOOOOO, fuck all you haters, im quitting this site you kids are noobs.

This is a little irrelevant but dont any of you fucking retarded high school stoners know how to spell RIDICULOUS? Holy shit. It's been misspelled like 800 times in this thread.

thats were you're missing a point there, most of NS says tanner derserves it, and from my knowledge youre not even close to being a judge so stop stating bullshit like that judges had always made good choices, its their job cmon

EVERYONE GO LOOK AT THE POWDER AWARDS ON THE JON OLSSON BLOG, TANNER SAYS A SPEECH ABOUT IT.

and the 'majority' thinks dumont should have one because the 'majority' are stupid little fuckers who just started skiing and think they know everything, ask almost any pro if they think tanner deserved it and they'll agree that he should have.

Tanner: 7 hits, went huge, and went right side

Dumont: just went big.

I felt Tanner had the better run and he was a good sport to Dumont. But the problem was that he had his last run and instead of going big and throwing down for his fans and supporters, he just mossied (sp?) along with the "fuck you I'm cocky and I have 7 golds" attitude. If he actually threw down like a true skier would, then less would boo (or I would be angry about it.) But I think he got the message and he did deserve the gold.

But whoever threw the snowball is a fag.

they were booing at the judges, becouse they thought dumont should have gotten a higher score. and tanner deserved to win, he had 7 hits dumont had 5. and tanner spun both ways.

i thought tanners run was good..

it could of had more grabs..

but deff the better run then simon..

i mean simon did go wayy bigger

on that first hit in the second run..

but tanners perfect landings..

i think one it for him and spinning

both sides.. i mean simon isent spinning

both sides.. and he's been in pipe

for how long?

shut up dude no he didnt. tanner didnt cheer that was his friend up at the top. Tanner blew me away with both his runs in the pipe, the way he handled the crowds, and the way he congratulated Mr. Dumont at the bottom. His interview was spot-on too. The crowd booing him was just what our sport DIDNT need. its people like you that keeps the sport from progressing

im all for simon and was super pissed and hating on tanner when tanner won. but if you really look at it tanner was the right winner and i have great respect for him as much as i might hate on him. the winning factor was him spinning both ways and getting 2 more hits in.

Here's the Booing explained..

Peter Olenick lives in Boulder. He brown-noses Dumont so Simon hangs out in boulder alot with Peter. They have parties with lots of CU fanboys who don't know shit about skiing but like the free place to party. Said fanboys all went up to Aspen to watch the xgames. when the only skier they know didn't win, they booed a clearly better run because they are sheeple. there you go.

That makes sense. When I first heard the booing, i was like WTF??!!! Those people who booed are obviously morons and Tanner is just so damn good, that he just cant be beat and people always want to see the underdog win. I cant believe some fucker threw a snowball at TAnner during his last run too....people are stupid

Please dont ever make sweeping hateful generalizations about Americans based off of ESPN broadcasts on the internet. you look like such just as big a moron as the people at the bottom of the pipe who booed look.

jon did the same as tanner did in big air basically so there is no reason to hurt yourself over it...i think it's bullshit tanner got boo'ed. that is pitiful, he obviously had the better run and everyone who acted like that is retarded. i really feel bad for the guy.

My opinion: Tanner's run was good but him a dumont's have totally diffrent styles.

Yes Tanners run was very good but I just just don't get as amped as when i watch dumont hit the pipe. I mean Dumont just goes balls out nuff said, I mean the guys amplitude is absoultely ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!! 21 feet!!!! I sure can't name anyone going that hight Thursday night. Also Dumont is a way more likeable person than Hall. I mean the guy is a straight up competitior and isn't all into this im a rasta wanna be what up Bra Tanner Hall bull shit. Plus he doesn't look like a damn haggard bum.

HAHA love it.  People gotta hate the fact that Tanner skis powder all year and shows up to pipe ans slays it.

well considering they call him the local boy at X by process of simple deduction that would mean he lives in Aspen, unless he is frickin rich and has two houses...?

Tanner's superior run and the unacceptable booing aside:

How sick would it have been if the conditions were clear and fast all day, and Dumont would have gotten enough speed to clear the Huckometer first hit? It would have been like ERROR ERROR CANNOT COMPUTE HUCKAGE, then David Hasslehoff himself would have shown up to officially announced that skiing had been admitted into the 2010 Olympics...

Or if Tanner had done a 100% switch victory lap, and similar events transpired with the exception of Dr. Phil replacing Hasslehoff in the inauguration (wrong word?) process...

Yeah... I dream wild.

I hate that people were booing, regardless of the reason. It's the xgames, and your there to throw down everything youve got to put on worldwide television. Tanner stomped his run, and made it look easy. And thats what technicality is all about.

http://http://www.jon-olsson.com/videoblog/

watch the video titled "jon olsson videoblog at the powder awards and dumont crash"

watch tanner's speech, he gives dumont all the respect in the world

and the part about the snowball getting thrown at him duriing his run, like wtf kids?

tanners definitely got his head on straight, and his run had dumonts for sure, it was just way more progressive and thats where skiing is headed

watch the vid, you wont disagree

I thought Tanner's run was better, but regardless of what you thought... booing Tanner? WTF! He went out, trained like crazy, worked hard, threw down and people booed him because he was scored higher than Dumont? I can see if it was OBVIOUSLY rigged or something, but the runs were close. How do you differentiate between a run with huge amplitude, but only left side spins and 5 hits and a run with good amplitude, spins in both directions and 7 hits? It was close, the judges chose Tanner, and the crowd booed one of the best skiers of our generation. Disgusting.

if u dont think tanner deserved it u are not good at skiing, dont know skiing, or both. Tanner run was better by far, i had no problem deciding this after the first runs

no doubt tanner had his shit down but for the second year in a row dumont got ripped out the ass in pipe and even in big air....

Tanner pretty much trained his ass off all year for this event, to my knowledge Dumont hardly trained at all for pipe, which is why he didn't win. Tanners run was better by far, and his time he comitted to training shows. If anyone deserves it more, its Tanner.
