Booing Tanner... wtf

i totally agree man. that was straight gutless booing him like that. Tanner deserved it. He is a prodigy. A legend. For all the shit he's done for the sport too. Fuck tha haters.

Mad props homie!

exactly

everyone is all bitchin "simon shoulda won"

the guy spins only left and tanner told him straight up at the end of his last run in the interview with espn

no reason to boo a man who can throw the sickest both way 9s in a row

good job judges

Probably because he's a good guy and realized that Simon got robbed. It didn't force him to lay down his best run. Tanner probably still would have taken it, but not with the run he had there.

wow i like 10 minutes this thread almost has a page but i think they were booing the judges both threw down

yeah that was retarted, tanner did way better i think, dumont did good no doubt, but not enough for first, and definitely not enough to boo tanner for winning

that was gay

but tanners run was sick

Hahaa hell yeah man. That would've been sick as hell. And the handshake him and Jossi did was fucking sweet hahah. Colby's the man.

that was so rediculous, someone actually threw a snowball at tanner during his last run, that was just fucked up, tanner won and dumont didnt do as well, why did everyone get so pissed?

^ i didnt really like how tanner was giving simon advice like a kid who just got owned by a pro, thats kinda rubbing the win in simons face but he prob doesnt realize that. Tanner definetly deserved the win though but simon has so much heart... sad

the plain and simple fact is that tanner had a better run. They both went big, they both had big tricks. Tanner spun both ways and actually had style. end of story

thats so retarded they were throwing snowballs. tanner threw the fuck down. nuff said. and ist x games you need to have technicality, amplitude, and style. imo. dumont had amplitude and decent technicality.

dumont=height, no grab, only 5 hits

vs.

hall= not as much height, good grabs, stomped, higher variaty of tricks, and better tricks

also correct me if i am wrong but did dumont hit anything switch?

You know before giving him advice he said he was the best half pipe skier in the world, and said the only reason why he won because he just spun both directions and not because he is the better skier. I thought it was really mature of tanner, as apposed to other times we have seen him.

^ i didnt really like how tanner was giving simon advice like a kid who just got owned by a pro, thats kinda rubbing the win in simons face but he prob doesnt realize that. Tanner definetly deserved the win though but simon has so much heart... sad

its not like the judges are gonna be partial to one guy and he is a professional athlete think about it would those guys throw a freggin soda at michael jordan no because he deserves respect so does tanner and every other athlete

there is no need for hate, Tanner and Simon both had great runs. It is what it is. About the boos and shit, that was so lame... there is no need for that. Too much hate in the world today, kind of fucken sad.

Why all the hate? theyre both two athletes doing what they do and doing it damn well. and i noticed someone say simon was just spinning to win with no grabs... wow what are you talking about man? he grabbed everything and killed it putting his ass on the line for our entertainment but no question tanner was more tech and deserved it. props tanner.

Dude... youre retarded. First of all tanner is a legit guy. He was praising dumont after his run and even said "You're the best halfpipe skier in the world. I want you to know that." Stop hating on him. His run was waaaay better technically than Dumont's, and his transitions and grabs were absolutely flawless. I personally like Dumont better because he goes huge but the fact is tanner was better tonight. Be happy for him and stop being such a douche.

i was rooting for simon, but tanner deserved it. and what the fucks up with his picture on the big screen at the top of the pipe, so fucking creepy.

ur right the judges arnt gonna be partial to one guy on one night they did it fair and tanner won simon didnt perform to the best of his abilty tonight so he got second many other athletes also got robbed such as andreas

its a disgrace that tanner beat simon because tanner did one rightside trick... when all of dumonts hits were 10 feet higher than tanners... the judges are on tanners nuts and wanted to make sure he got 7 golds... fuck the judges this is the biggest bullshit ive ever witnessed

I said this in another thread. Dumont Boosting Higher is a crowd pleaser the same way backflips thrill people watching from the lifts.

and the bullshit about tanner get 7 hits.. would you rather see a fucking huge 20 foot out first hit or a fucking faggit ass flatspin 3

i really liked simons run, and thought it was equal to if not a tad better than tanners. it seemed like they had the whole contest already figured out though, that tanner was going to win. but the one thing that i really got sick of was all of the ass kissing the commentators did to tanner "well his run was great, but it just didnt have the fluidity of tanners" or "well he just didnt do it as good as tanner" or "tanner is about to break a record for most winter x gold" which i heard at least 30 times. but overall, i liked watching it, but thought that simon maybe should have won

as I said before, I don't think any trick or technique should be absolutely required to win. If Dumont laid half of the same tricks the other direction, he would have won, without a doubt. He obviously really wanted to get the gold, but didn't want to risk anything he hadn't prepared for, therefor he just tried to huck his signature run but way bigger and with a few new tricks mixed in. I don't think that tradition should result in a loss.

bahahaha you ignorant fuck.

Tanners run was SO much more tech than Simons. To the untrained eye (you), Simons run looked better. But the the trained eye, Tanners was looooads more tech. So many right and aly-ope spins in there. Tanner deserved the win. Regardless, simon threw down too. I always feel bad for simon because he wants it so much, but tanner deserved it. And i'm stoked for kolby!

But that tanner didn't even through his better qualifying run kinda dissappointed me.

Even though I wanted Simon to win, booing Tanner was shit. Does anyone else think he looks really creepy in the photo they showed of him during the comp though?

i would say possibly a foot higher, tanner had a better veriatey of tricks that were grabbed better with more grabs and tanner spun more on his switch hit you are what most would call a retard

ya and how he was saying that simon needs to throw to either side they guy should just say that everyone tried really hard but tonight was his night

simon got jipped in my mind

1) Simon 21 feet Tanner got 15 feet

2) SImon boosted way higher through the course of his run and thats why he didnt get as many hits in

3) Simon grabbed his 1260 when tanner didnt

3) Tanner was more consistent in his runs but i just love how high simon goes and how exciting it is to watch this kid Amplitude>Technicality to me....you can disagree or agree but thats my view
