BMBW Predictions

I sent a long message to bishop to have him take down this thread for our own legal safety. We can just make another one.

This new jump looks like it was sculpted by angles (atleast for bmbw). Hopefully it rides as good as it looks.

It's way too fucking small, I will barely be able to squeak around a 540 on it

I posted it before the sun came up. Now i see its the typical one from last year. I guess i could only see the groomed marks and thought those were the edge. Ill take it over no jump i guess.

i mean at least it's a properly shaped jump as opposed to that pile of garbage they had until now

The jump is perfectly fine but park crew closed it. Everybody is so pissed.

The pill was put in and it is the mosf fun i have had with a feature. I also tried the flat down box. I hate how you cant grip it so you have no control. But the amount of snow they have is insane. I have never seen so much and they arw only 1/2 way done.

Awesome, the pill is a classic. How is it set up? Flat?

The pill is on top of a weird pad. The jump is okay. I had to test it and knuckled it but i got it the 2nd time

I drove down to mad river today to check it out because now it's included on the season pass. It's pretty cool. Everything in their park is pretty mellow and hittable. One crazy Dfd that is a street style gap on.....I didn't mess with that one..haha. I'd been here once years ago, but never came back. Its pretty cool if your looking for a change of scenery, but don't want to pay for a lift ticket. From Akron it took me about 2 hours 10 minutes. Packed a lunch, and used my BMBW pass. Didn't spend a dime but on gas.

Do they still have a a top to bottom rail line next to the double lift? I was there once a few years ago and thought their rail set up was killer. Jump line was solid too.

I shit you not, there was a roller on champagne and my friend sent it 40 ft down. He may have torn his shoulder, here is a video

Probably would've stomped it if he had poles.

Holy shit this weather coming up is really not good. Bw will never get around to putting up a decent setup. the jump and the pill are good right now but they might as well be the only features up.

Tbh my fav feature rn is the box because i learned surface swaps on it and its really addicting. I thought i would like the flat down but it kinda pisses ms off because you can't grip it for your lift. I slipped out on the pill and slammed my hip 4 ft down so i stopped hitting that.

well I hate to break it to you but I watched them take that box out tonight lol. Front or back surface swap?

Well backswap obviously because you don't have to even move anything to get it. I hope they put in some more long ride on rails but i doubt it. I need to sack up and just hit an urban style rail. Probably will be good next week cause it will be so slushy.

well you may be waiting for quite a while, I don't see them putting up a decent setup anytime soon with all this weather.

Im hitting the down on that last pad. Not too risky it appears atleast.

Just make sure you wax because depending on the weather that rail can either be very slick or sticky

Im gonna do that tomorrow after my last final because they are gonna close.

Any advice before I do it? I heard that you aren't supposed to fully pop when u go onto a rail actually because ur tips go down and you land like a boner on the rail which can cause u to slip out or catch. And when do you turn 90? Pov shots make it look like you turn later in the jump which seems awkward. It looks like way different timing than normal ride on rails.

Go slow the first few attempts. You don't have to pop nearly as much as you think, my first attempt at a urban on rail many years ago ended with me disaster-ing nearly the entire rail. but at the same time, the faster you go the less you'll have to pop. Just worry about getting on the rail legitimately at first, how you slide it out will come later and is partially a function of how well you get on the rail.

you definitely do turn after the pop but it's not as un-natural as you may think. Your body will learn not to turn the tips over the rail too early. Make sure the feature hasn't disintegrated into a sketchy state. You know how that happens at bmbw. I've been working on 2's onto urban style rails and it has been absolutely annihilating me, so many tip catches

You will probably slide less than half the rail at first, but that is still a good start.

I put a thread in ski gaber with a video. I can relate to the disastering thing.

Oh its ridiculous, bmbw has closed on tuesday the last 2 weeks and ski club has been so rattled. I love it.

there will be like 0 features to ski when they are open, that's the problem

The road will be closed to get there so we have to take the long way around that goes on 82

Ah piss, that makes an 8 minute drive 20 for me. I'm actually sick as shit but I feel like I won't be missing much this weekend

Im only going everyday to get the season total day count up.

Just took my calc midterm. Kinda sketchy but I think i pulled off an A possibly. For one we had to find the derivative of dy/dx=y^2(6-2x) and evaluate at (3,1/4). At first I distributed it and got some answer with like 6-8 terms. Then i used product rule and got it down to -2y^2 so it was -1/8. I thought i was gonna die cause we didn't get calculators. I tried it like 3 times and was freaking out.

Not one feature besides the jump was setup. Well the pill was there but the kicker is half impossible to even get on the thing. It was dead... on a friday night... ive never seen the place so bad.

Was the jump an ice block?

Well fuck, they won't be able to build anything really until februrary at least

They are putting some rails in right now. They pushed some pads last night it looks like.

I finally got an urban on that looks like good. They have a really cool looking flat down shotgun setup going. Here is a vid of my progression today

good work, but it actually may be easier for you to do on a down rail rather than a flat rail urban on.

This weather we're having is unlike any January thaw I've ever seen. Do you think we'll make it into march? I think not a change. Boyd and the boys are already giving up I would imagine.

Here is my theory. If you look at the seasonal patter the last 4 months, fall came really late. It was 75-80 some days in late September/October. I sense that the season are changing really late this year because of La Nina. I think that right now we are getting the december bs that we always get. But this also means that spring will come later so we can go into late march. Tuesday ski club has been canceled the last two weeks and about to be 3. They have to make up all of those days. I am predicting an april/may day this year if they build big air. Apparently josh is the reason the park sucks because he doesn't want the snow to melt by them building stuff(makes no sense since features compact snow and reduce surface area). They don't have any down rails with kickers of any noticeable degree that i am comfortable hitting.
