Just read up on the proposed banning, and I agree that it's pretty fucked up. However, saying that america is a place where you can live your life absolutely free is a bit ridiculous. Lets use homosexuals as an example. Sure, there are no direct laws saying that you can't be gay, but there are definitely factors that can prevent a homosexual person from "living their life how they want to". As far as I'm aware, only 14 out of 50 states have same-sex marriage legalized, and don't forget how socially acceptable it is to persecute/demonize gays in western culture. Hell, the word gay is considered an insult when said to someone. So why can they be overlooked in the "land of the free"? Or are they the exception?
