Barak Obama is gonna run for president!

she is not racist, I dont like hillary clinton b/c she is a communist. It is just another reason to not vote for someone. it is not like she is being prejudice and hating them, that is just a turn off for voting. I wont vote for him b/c of that too, but i have some muslim firends that i have nothing agianst

hahaha nice statistic. do you have any idea how many muslims there are in the world? if 5% were terrorists the US wouldnt stand a chance

You are an incredibly ignorant person. What "views" do Muslims have that you are stereotyping? You are exactly the type of person that is spoon fed about this "jealous of our freedom" bullshit.

I bet if I were to ask you why we were attacked on 9/11, you would say the terrorists are jealous of the way we live.

Please read.

Ok so I'm going to ask again...

What "views" do Muslims have that you don't like, because all Muslims practice the same type of Islam.

Mountaingirl or whatever your name is, you're deluded, and deluding yourself. It's actually very simple.

You refuse to vote for someone on account of their religion. That is bigotry.

No, it's worse than that: not even HIS religion, but a religion he has had EXPOSURE to, as if it's tainted him somehow by proximity... as if a broader scope of knowledge somehow makes one less worthwhile than if they'd had the blinders on their whole life and never followed anything but your own narrow view of the world. There's no interest in how he practices his own spirituality in what you said, no interest in whether he holds the views of the majority of muslims or of the church officials or of any muslims whatsoever, no interest in whether islam is at all a spiritual matter for him or a cultural curiosity, the same way being Chinese would be for me (I'm not Chinese). You just heard somewhere, on Hannity or Limbaugh or some other bullshit factory, the word muslim associated with Barack and were so immediately frightened of the merest possibility of an association which is utterly ludicrous (judging someone by their middle name is directly analogous to judging a book by its cover) as to be laughable, that you actually said earlier that you would flee to Canada were he elected. Laughable, it would be, if not for the fact that you can vote. People like you are why the political discourse in the USA has fallen to rumormongering and hateful innuendo. To put it bluntly, you and everyone like you are hurting America.

If anyone wants to see who the guy really is, how about watching and listening to him rather than news talk show hosts whose job is to make the race a soap opera to boost ratings? Here is his 2004 DNC speech, the highlight of that train wreck of a Kerry/Edwards campaign, and the best political speech so far this millenium.

Let it load a bit before you play it, it's about 15 minutes long.

Dammit JD, I was going to say something like that, but as usual, you both beat me to it and said it more eloquently than I could ever hope.

That being said, please, for the love of the free world, educate yourself and vote in 2008. You have a year and a half to get yourselves acquainted with the candidates and their views, so please usefully exercise your right to vote. Not many people in the world are as lucky as Americans are when it comes to their country's government.

Well said. Take me, for example. As an independent, I'll never be completely satisfied with who I can vote for, but the fact that I'll be able to vote for my Libertarian buddies, republican buddies, democrat buddies, etc, I'll be happy with what I've accomplished by voicing my opinion.

Also, I'll never be happy with libertarianism because the two stronger candidates that I know of for the 2008 election include a Comedian and a Bus driver. haha.

actually your online so your probably just referring to the people who spend time with you. and yes anyone who could stand more than 5 minutes of your company must be an idiot

HAHAHAHA thats great they all practice the same stufff AHAHAHAHA u r funny...some interpret the koran to kill all non muslims others interpret the meaning of peace...yes very similar!!

where does that sarcasm fit in with your point above it actually would be harmful to your argument but ok stick with it chief!!

You aren't too bright are you?

She was stereotyping muslims...so I asked her what she thought their "views" were that she claimed they all followed. The sarcasm was used correctly. I'm sorry you can't pick up on it or my point.

because the alternative was Al Gore. if gore was president we wouldn't have a building standing over 10 stories tall

hmmmmm, has anyone mentioned rudy giuliani yet? he would probably be the only republican candidate i'd be comfortable voting for. i don't know what his voting record/position on iraq is though - anyone care to tell me?

Uh, what, he's for the Democratic party... not the Republican party, and did you understand what she was going to do to American healthcare?! I'm all for Obama.

ANY candidate is better than bush, i just found out that he wants to save 100 billion dollars through medicare cuts. At the same time he plans to spend 100 billion dollars MORE on the war in iraq. who taught him that the health of the citizens is 100 billion dollars less important than killing people in the middle east?

George Bush is a fukin monkey , and you an idiot for calling Borak Obama Muslim influenced who gives a shit if he is muslim, Jew, christan or the fukin spawn of the devil himself ,he would still be a better president than the one in Power right now.

Ok maybe I was a little overbroad in my condemnation. I was referring to everyone I noticed. So if you made one post you might be okay. MIGHT be.

No. That would never happen because they both know it would be fucking stupid. Nader was the nominee for the Green party, as in not the Democratic party.

In the 2000 election yes. He ran independent in the 2004. Most of you dont know Nader past then, but this man has, in my opinion, done a lot more for our country than a lot of politicians in our time. Check out his record of consumer rights, humanitarianism and environmentalism. He's done whats best for our country countless times in his life, and been badmouthed by corporations and parties for his honesty. To me, hes an example of what politicians should be, which is for the people.

Also, for the love of god, shut the fuck up about splitting the vote. People should back the candidate they agree with most, and not just give their vote away to the candidate thats the 'lesser of two evils'. If everyone voted to their ideals we would have better elected leaders. And besides, the two party system is killing our country anyways.
