Americans thoughts on Canadians

I live in both countries. Besides the border and feeling a little safer in Canada i dont see many differences. Theres dicks in both countries, theres funny accents in both countries, you can smoke weed in both countrys now! congrats colorado!, chili fries or poutine, all beer from both countries taste the same, i dont drink milk from the bag, theres fast drivers and slow drivers in both, canadians are generally a little smaller then americans but canada has fatties to. Cost of living is similar, climate is similar, skiing is similar.
 
I actually find it hilarious that people even consider judging a country off of the people they meet. Chances are you are going to meet super nice people wherever you go, and complete dicks.

All Americans assume all Canadians are newfies.

Just like all Canadians assume all Americans are inbred southerners.

I love America and Americans because they are everything Canada is not.

I love Canada because its like the stoner brother of America. just laidddd back.

Some stereotypes are true. We love hockey, bacon, maple syrup etc.

but things like living in igloos and eating blubber are just retarded.

Alot of Americans are yet to grasp the concept that unless you live in LA, NY or Chicago there is a very likely chance that the blubber eating Canadian youre insulting lives in a much larger urban metropolis than youre gun-toteing ass.

part of the canadian stereotype is that you more frequently carry guns than americans because of all the big scary bears and what not.
 
Don't know enough about either of these issues to make a judgement but I do think Israel IS an aggressor and in America we tend to be a bit mor sympathetic to the Jews so I think this may be responsible reporting

lets say every american owned a gun, thats 310 million guns.

every canadian would have to own 9 and one quarter firearms, each.

Yeah exactly. Everyone thinks that Canada has so many guns but in reality the States has so many more because of the population difference. It's probably about 10x safer here in Canada than in the States.

Also, I believe there are less gun related deaths in Canada despite having more guns per capita. I.e. Canadians are more responsible/less violent gun owners.

also, on a semi related note, i wrote a paper in my 3rd year war in society class comparing typical firearms used in canadian murders compared to firearms used in murders in the states.

turns out canadians murdering canadians with a gun, have a very likely tendency to do so with a "hunting" rifle. or in other words, a non concealable weapon typically used for game hunting and purchased with the intent to use for hunting.

where as americans, have a tendency to murder eachother with hand guns and more alarmingly, highpowered assult rifles typically used for.......?

law enforcement?

wars?

??

we have guns for tools.

americans have guns for? murder?

not causing a shitstorm here eh, just disproving another typical canadian stereotype.

Well if you were going to prove that statement you would have to find out how many guns the average household in canada owns compared to how many guns a household in america owns. Yeah it's evident that america is larger in population than canada so that throws all argument of "having more" away. But the question is what is the ratio of guns to household.
 
whenever i see an American license plate ill drive extra cautiously and do nicer things that i wouldnt normally do driving. just so they have a nice time

look at the percentage of canadians that live in major cities, then look at the population of those cities.

now compare that to the percentage of americans that live in major cities and the population of those cities.

lastly, compare the population of canadas largest cities to americans largest cities.

many americans dont understand that a very very very high percentage of canadians live in very big cities.

where as a very very very low amount of americans live in very big cities.

so, as i stated before, the chance that a canadian lives in a more populated city than the average american is quite high.

hell, ive had americans call me a hick just because im canadian. meanwhile i live in canadas largest city, and the 5th largest in north america
 
I did compare them. Both countries have around 80% percent of people living in urban areas and the biggest cities are very similar in size.

So I stick with my previous statement. There is not a "very likely chance" that someone in Canada will live in a "much larger" metro area. Of course the chance went up a little when you excluded the three biggest US cities but I still stand by what I said
 
i suggest you redo your research.

because only 8% of americans live in a city with a population of 1 million plus....

where as toronto, vancouver, and montreal ALONE are home to 35% of canadas population.

84% live in cities with a population of 1 million plus.

so ya, there is about a 75+% chance that the typical canadian lives in a larger city than the typical american.
 
the world doesn't give a fuck about canada, they don't do shit besides smuggle guns, milk, and gas from america because they eat dicks for dinner.

yes they get their gas from us but Canadians are known to drive down to the states to fuel up because of cheaper gas prices. Gas filled garbage bag incident that happened just this last summer.

But yeah, we do supply 'murica with a lot of their gas. we just want it back lool.

it just seems like there are more dicks in america than anywhere else in the world, except for maybe africa. for example, in march I went to ellicottville, NY for a weekend. no word of a lie, 99% of people I met there were assholes. the lifties bitched me out for "broken poles" because I was missing straps. the waitress at the restaurant I went to was a bitch. my snowboarder friend got yelled at for not un-strapping in the line up (there was nobody in the line, and he was simply riding to where the lift comes around before unstrapping).

the only positive thing I heard anybody say the entire weekend was a person complimenting me on skimming a puddle.

on top of all that, I saw ZERO attractive women.

I've been to new york before, so I know not everybody is an asshole there, but that weekend was enough to make me never want to go back to that state in my life.

in summary, there are assholes in every country, but based on my experiences, there are more dicks in the states than good people.
 
Not legal, but cops really couldn't give a shit. Unless they already got you for something else or it's in your car. Buddy had a half ounce on him smokin a j by the river, some cops walked by and they made him throw it in the river, but no ticket or anything.
 
which is also coincidentally, the more moderate of climates than the rest of the country. not saying the us isnt part of the reason, but its only part of the reason
