24/25 Gear hype thread!

I don't see the issue with it in this instance. It's gonna make the ski incredibly surfy in deep snow. It's definitely more of a pronounced taper but even the current gen whitewalkers have a pretty pointed tip shape.

What's up with the BBR tip shape making a come back everywhere?

This is the same WW tip and tail shape that has always existed and I can tell you it’s one of the best tip and tail shapes ever created. I’ve owned every year version of WW since it’s come out and it has forever changed the way I ski and idk if I could go back to skiing a “traditional” pow ski shape. It’s like skiing on swords is the best way u can describe it.

i think this picture is distorted and the tips look more pointed than they are. that usually happens why you take close up’s like this

It's simple hydrodynamics, it will slice through stuff way easier, lots of skis have had this shape for well over a decade. Among other things it allows a softer ski to be more stable at speed through less than perfect snow. Gives up a teeny bit of float in some circumstances but gains hugely in many other

Black topsheet is an L. It that for the 116 or 121?

It’s for the 116, it’s what Sammy wanted, the bases are like a bloody red so it’s supposed to give a deadly samurai sword vibe

Just wait til you see the topsheets, they're finally going away from dad ski graphics

Finally got my X’s mounted up. They’ve got some nuts rocker at the tip. I have em next to my 98s to give a bit of reference

Graphic is inspired by the 1080, hence the pointy tip. The info box on the tails is identical to the OG teneighty too. Couple nods to the past

So we can just wait for the “Spaceframe” 2.0 update to come out if we’re not a fan of pointy tips?

Get these images played on top of one another and tell me the shapes are not similar.

I don't understand why people are so triggered by the BBR and it's impact on modern day ski design.

bro that image is warped because of the angle, the white walker is unchanged this year. you are tripping about this bbr tip shit

So triggered...what did the BBR ever do to you?

Fuck it, I agree with this dudes apparently unpopular opinion. The WW has a super aggressive tip taper which is somewhat reminiscent of the BBR. I actually like aggressive taper on pow skis, I think it makes them super pivot-y in heavy/grabby snow. I loved the old 5-point sidecut JJ’s for that reason, the taper made them smear on a dime.

Also, I never skied the BBR but I don’t hate it. It seems like a dumb shape but it was actually somewhat revolutionary and less aggressive versions of a lot of its features dominated the market for a hot minute.

White Walker = BBR 2.0

Nothing changed by the whitewalker 116 and it rides exactly the same as the last one, still a realy sick ski to ride and love the black and simple graphics of the new ones

Cannot wait to get my hands on the Armada Kimbo.

And I see Fischer have put tech inserts on the RC4 pro and given them a Lakers paint job... need to try a pair and see how the Kaijufeet take it.

Gonna gives these a go in the next few days. Liner quality is sweet and the stock footbed is moldable

Is it a bucket? 102mm last says yes but one never knows sometimes.

ankle pocket is surprisingly snug and provides a good hold, I have a narrow foot so it definitely isn't a great fit; but compared to other boots of the same last they generally feel tighter. The liner does seem pretty thick however so we'll see how they pack out, but I love how they look and the build quality is awesome.
