I'm sure ski big air, pipe, and slope will get plently of attention in Ski Gabber but theres a lot more to the games to excited about so thats what this thread is for.

Personally I'm excited to watch moguls and short track and will turn into a raging nationalist for hockey. What else are you guys hyped on?

I’m stoked to watch the ice climbing events this year. I like to watch the luge/skeleton, ski jumping, hockey and all the ski comps (including GS and biathlon)

Let’s go Canada! ?? ? ?

I low key enjoy drinking a beer while watching curling.

Yesssss. It's so chill to watch curling. Like watching golf. Put some curling on, surf the web, and fall asleep on the couch with a half finished beer. Kicking back

I like to watch the moguls and aerials.

I've gotten pretty decent at calling the tricks for slopestyle, big air, yada yada. But I have a lot of fun trying to call the tricks for aerials.

"FULL DOUBLE FULL!" Aw no fuck, it's a double full

Speed skating, it's the formula 1 of ice skating

Short track is more like stock car racing IMO. Its on a tight oval, contact is common and last laps moves commonly are made for the win. Super entertaining.

Long track skating. It blows my mind that those guys can go up to 30mph on flat ice.

Probably more hyped to watch ski racing and Mikaela tho

Maybe super g is more like formula 1

Moguls are the #1 thing I'm excited for aside from ski halfpipe.

Short track, curling, luge/skeleton/bobsled, and biathlon I'm also tryna watch

Anyone got a decent stream? I usually use sportsurge but the last couple olympics it was such a pain in the ass to find coverage without a tv

I know it's just qualifying, but women's snowboarders are doing 3's and 5's and backflips and shit. Is it the course? Or has women's skiing spoiled me and snowboarding just isn't at the same level?

Interesting the way the judging is going. People will falls (like butt to the ground) but who continue the run are getting higher scores than people who put down complete runs but with more simple tricks.

Yeah, I think it's the way they're scoring only 40% for overall impression. So even if they fall they can still get a respectable score, have definitely been a lot of fallers so far though.

Great run to watch from Julia Marino. Only one going inverted off the cannon

Womens Snowboard Slope about to go down.

followed by mens Snowboard slope Qualifiers.

should be a good one today.

Whoever decided "twisted sisters" was what they were going to call the first jump should be shot. Shred shed isn't much better.

Course map calls them the Skew Jumps, which I think is just nice and classic

Is anybody else seeing the people wearing the massive light blue coats around and on top of the slopestyle course?

They’re course volunteers, groom the run ins and stuff like that.

I just want to say that today the jumps are very little for modern athletes, what was built at the Olympics is not at all impressive. I think it is possible to make bigair 50 meters. Of course, safety is very important, but you can just put a pillow on the table, everything can be thought out.

Talking Slope or Big Air?

One thing that the broadcast doesn’t show is the proper size of these jumps, and how steep and deep these landings go. Additionally, it’s very windy here, and was proving the be a problem with speed and safety.

I was talking with the Schneestern boys tonight, and they’ll be adjusting some of the take offs (mostly rail sections) for the skiers. So bigger and better than ever.

Watching the women's slope snowboarding and seeing some of the smaller riders pretty much straight-lining it come up short really gave some scale on how big the jumps were, especially with the really steep landings to gain speed on.

What is the slashing through scores in the big air? I see an 80 up there that is scratched out.

High and low scores are scratched and the final score is the average of the remainder.

Walter Wallburg, who's never competed in a major competition before, moves to Åre, Sweden and makes friends with the mogul skiing team guys there.

Then he shows up to the Olympics, and takes gold against the Canadian guy that's won like every major mogul competition since 2012.

What a legend!
