Also so everyone understands how broadcast works, OBS (Olympic broadcast services) provides a host feed, and pretty much everyone else takes that feed and adds their own logo and commentators to it.
NBC is also there to provide American coverage, they usually have a camera at the top, bottom, and somewhere in between the runs (usually from the start).
Here at Genting, there are two production crews, team 1 (which I am a part of) covers the slopestyle and cross events. Team 2 is a Chinese crew, and from what I’ve heard and understand, they aren’t as experienced with snow sports.
which is why some of these earlier pipe broadcasts have had weird cuts and weaker camera work. No hate, but our crew just has a ton more experience. It sucks, because the judges get a direct feed from the broadcast (as well as cable cam and long lens at the bottom). So if cuts are off, judging can be hampered
