anyone who has taken an economics class knows that when the rich are rich, everyone else can make more money. When the rich do not spend money, NO ONE makes money.

This is an excellent point. But whose fault is that? They choose not to have any type of leadership. When you let people just speak their mind whenever they want, even though they are part of a group, well then they are equal representatives for that group.

but seriously, what is it about?? i get it they are upset with government policies. if thats the case, protest capital hill, not parks across the nation. orrrr spend your time trying to promote someone running for congress or senate who has your ideas in mind.
 
Make an honest argument about why the occupy movement is in the right, and explain your goals, using facts as well, and any person on this website with half an education in economics or business could rail your argument so fucking hard.

i have yet to see footage of a occupier that isn't atleast 25% braindead.....but since you know what the movement is about what is your counterclaim to what the ceo was stating? (considering all of his points had legitimate proof to back them up while occupy just whines because there are rich people and poor people).
 
Are you saying Peter Schiff isn't part of the 1%? He's worth ~$70,000,000. I think his decision to put himself out there to answer questions the OWS protesters have is generous of him considering he doesn't owe the protesters shit. I think the government taking 1/2 of his income is enough.
 
the whole no leadership thing is kinda holding them back honestly. however it would be hard for this movement to field a leader because of the vast issues that they are protesting. I'm sure many of these people are protesting vastly different things. Some idiots might just be angry because they can't use their art history degree to get a job that supports their chosen lifestyle and are hard bent to repay their student loans. however there are those that do not agree with how large corporations can make large donations to political candidates to ensure that the corporations best interests are taken care of over the general public's. And I don't can't think of anyone who agrees with giving bankers of bailed out company's bonuses with tax payers dollars.

3 people certainly do not represent the, um, movement. However, when you have many instances like this, all over the country (and in other countries), day after day, month after month, it really paints a clear picture of what most of these occupiers are about. It is a microcosm of the dumbassery that is Occupy _____.
 
Could he be possibly be talking about the defense budget that is on a world conquest scale? Also an interesting fact, the U.S. government is further cutting welfare to veterans by 100 million dollars. Instead of cutting out some of the fat from the worthless defense programs they are doing cuts where there should be more money from taxes flooding in.

I seem to remember that for the first solid month of Occupy Wall Street, the TV and print media, despite the big evil coporations at the helm, were soooooooo sympathetic to the cause. And even still, if an old lady gets pepper sprayed, some dumbasses gets his feelings hurt, it's everywhere. All of sudden we live in a police state, corporations are evil, these people are helping me, etc.

I live in Seattle, which is, how do I say this? kind of liberal? And when a city like Seattle gets sick and tired of these fucking shitheads because all they do is bitch, shit (literally), piss (literally), demand, occupy illegally, shut down traffic during rush hour to help the working man, and do absolutely nothing productive except chant "the whole world is watching," then your movement is really backfiring and pathetic.

p.s. I don't even have a TV so I don't watch fox news. Just sayin.

you can't go up to a random person and say "how many people have you employed?" you need to compare a rich socialist to a rich capitalist. ok so he's employing 150 people. nice. he's probably also overworking and underpaying them so he can reap the benefits himself. you can't compare apples and oranges. maybe someone else in his position could be employing 200 people, paying them more, taking a pay cut themselves so that people are less overworked. who knows. sure he pays 50% of his salary in taxes, but if he took a pay cut, he wouldn't be paying more taxes, he'd be making less money, paying less in taxes, and everyone else would benefit by having more financial stability.

obvious i can't say whether or not this is the case, but it's silly to compare yourself to someone who doesn't have the opportunity to employ people. just because people work for you doesn't make capitalism successful...

Because they are idiots. A small group of intelligent people would be more effective than millions at this point. At least they could validate and refute claims by both sides effectively as opposed to reading signs and regurgitating the same shit over and over. Not to mention disrupting public areas. I'm against this movement because I could give two shits about people complaining. I work my ass off at a part time job(which took me all of a week to get by simply trying) and am a full time student, and I hate listening to ignorant masses complain about "corporate greed". Get off your ass and work for what you want. Every person could make 6 figures if they applied themselves. If you really want to end corporate greed and shady business operations then get an education and become a CEO yourself to change it.
