Setting different DINs on each ski

I tore my ACL last season, and though my knee has recovered well, I want to lower my DIN on my bad knee's ski while leaving my other ski at its normal DIN. This would mean that one ski has a higher DIN than the other. Has anyone else done this or know of any problems? My ski shop advised...

    Twisted knee.

Usually tweaked knees like this go away within a week or two. If not, then you might have hurt your meniscus or a ligament, but if you're walking and skiing on it then I doubt it. Just go light on the aggressive sports for a while and ice it.

4Frnt is officially my new favorite company

Sterbenz is one of the nicest guys ever. A few years back I was walking around in Whistler village with a 4frnt tee and he introduced himself out of the blue and we chatted a bit.

    For the unicyclers

There's no real trick to it other than practice. you are essentially just leaning the direction that you want to go, and then move the wheel underneath yourself so you don't fall. ski poles seems like a good idea though, never thought of that.

    Bookmark a thread

yeah, i realize there are other ways to do it but I'd rather not clutter my firefox bookmarks with a lot from NS. If i'm the only one that think this would be a good idea then it's not worth it, just thought other people might like it too.

    360 back seat landing!!

You're talking about on skis right, not flatland? Think about it: the vert of the jump is tilted at an angle. So if you pop perpendicular to the tranny, then you will land backseat on the landing, which is sloped downward. So think about actually popping forward (like the guy above me said)...

    Bookmark a thread

Can NS implement a feature where users can bookmark a thread to save for reference? Sometimes search isn't good enough to find a thread that you read a long time ago. I've noticed that some people just comment in them so they are saved to My Threads, but this sort of pollutes the message board...

    Tips for spinning rightside

This is good advice. I also think it helps to practice spinning down small sets of stairs when you get comfortable (like 3 or 4 steps). It kind of simulates going off a jump a little better.

WHY ARE PEOPLE STARTING TO PUT THEIR SNOWPANTS UNDER THEIR BOOTS!$!#!%^!&!^!#$!#!

I do it, but purely for functionality, and only when I'm hiking. When I'm hiking rails and constantly clicking in and out of my boots, it's really annoying to keep pulling your pants out of the way to click in your bindings. I don't tuck them in, just roll up the cuffs. don't really care how it...

Lincoln Loop, First Invert (good or bad idea?)

Yeah, lincoln should be fine for a first invert. if you screw up, it's likely that you'll land on your side, which doesn't hurt that badly. also, you can keep looking forward the whole time which might make you more comfortable than a backflip where you have to lose the landing. Someone said...

Can baggy pants be too baggy?

    Thats it thats all hate?

It's probably getting overhyped on NS, but it's certainly a good movie. Everything is in the backcountry and a lot of the jumps are natural windlips instead of built kickers. It is very well-filmed and well-produced. I don't know if it's my favorite movie ever, but it's definitely worth watching.

Where is old footage of colby west?

Colby came out of waterville and really got his first break by winning mega-mother-hucker at Mt Snow (like in 2003 or 2004 or something). He won with a switch 7 misty, a trick that no one else was doing, and I haven't seen anyone else do since. shortly thereafter he was picked up by k2 and...

    HELP with math plzzz

It triples every day, so at the end of day 5 you have 50*3 ants, end of day 10 you have 50*3^2 ants, day 15 you have 50*3^3 ants. In general, after N days you'll have 50*3^(N/5) ants. So you need to solve for N in: 500,000 = 50*3^(N/5) therefore 10,000 = 3^(N/5) therefore N/5 =...

    Flatspins / Rodeos

For rodeos it really helps me to concentrate on popping off my big toe on my left foot and my pinky toe on my right foot (I spin left). This gets you in the position to flip. Pop off those two toes, and once your in the air throw your right shoulder forward and down the hill. Don't throw your...
