Today the coolest thing happened to me at work (I work in a ski shop in jersey). So I was sittin around with nothing to do like usual, when none other than Matt Sterbenz walks into the shop and shakes my hand. I soon found out that the reason he was there was because this year my shop picked up 4frnt for the first time and he was there with another rep to talk about the skis. I wasn't positive it was him right away because he was real modest and cool and just introduced himself as Matt. I didn't realize it was him till he gave me his card. I was like holy shit! we have the pro skier/creator/owner of 4frnt in here! So now I respect 4frnt more than any other company out there because how many big ski or snowboard or any company do you know that sends its owner out as a rep?? I thought that was the coolest thing and it was my first time meeting any pro skier. It was even crazier cuz my shops just in New Jersey, not like Utah or Colorado or even Vermont. Im just so pumped on 4frnt rite now and I thought I had to share my story. BTW, like 2 minutes before he walked in, I was just looking at the MSPs like, no doubt I'm buying these.

word up 4frnt's were deff fun skis had them last year, just lacked a lil durability wise but otherwise they were sweet.

P.S. now you gotta change your icon!

I've heard stories about 4FRNT sucking and what not from other ppl but 4FRNT is so legit imo. I love my TNKs. I had Line Chronics before and those are sick but i just love my 4FRNT TNKs. I really like the team as well. The 4FRNT team members are the coaches at COC and each year i go i always learn new stuff and they're just chill people as well. Anyways, I'm stoked on 4FRNT too.

haha yea thats true about my icon dude, maybe I will. But I honestly don't even care what people have said about their construction or durability. I think they're sick skis made by awesome people. Plus, he gave me a card with a code to get 45% off anything in the 4frnt online shop, so I can get the MSPs for $344 right now

mr. Steerbenz once droped buy a sale/event I was working at to help sell skis it was cool, he did not say much. Latter that day he almost got killed by a rouge ski press.

haha i love how 4frnts your favorite but your icon is one of their main competitors haha

i hav aswell met matt and he is a super cool down to earth dude and we are both midwest riders, he used to ski the same home mtn as me, i had a pair of 4frnts and they were the sickest skis i ever owned until the edges completly ripped out, my bro had em to and his snapped in half

4frnt has a great group of guys running the company. At COC this summer I got to spend some time with Joe, one of the owners, he was the most down to earth guy, it was pretty cool. Not only do they have some great skis (IMO) but they also have alot of great people running the business.

o shit, what shop in jersey, cuz i work at ski barn in wayne new jersey, but we dont sell 4frnt unfortunatly

my only problem with 4frnt is durability. i got some 06-07 STLs last year halfway through the season and ive skied them 30 days and the edge is probably gonna rip out underfoot next time i go skiing. i like the ways the skis ride though

I work at Mt. Everest in Westwood, NJ. Its not far from Wayne at all. Anyone who's in my area please come in, i need more newschoolers to talk to!!

Kristi Leskinen came to a DNA railjam tour stop at my shop this summer and she was a total bitch to everyone there. How's that?

Go check out their clothing too, with the discount shirts are like $10. And you can get Deadbolt 12s for $100! I love that site.

^^^yea dude I know, I think I'm gettin the 181 MSPs with the deadbolt 15 for $497!! or maybe the 12, idk I'm 6'3'' 220lbs, i assume i should go for the 15 right? with the 12 I'l be at $442

Umm... not so much. I wish I'd be cool enough like she is to act like she's better than everyone else when she can throw the sickest flailing no grab threes and complain about jumps at comps being too big.

yeah especially when ash b is sw 7 muting those 80 foot jumps she shouldn't be complaining...

Sterbenz is one of the nicest guys ever. A few years back I was walking around in Whistler village with a 4frnt tee and he introduced himself out of the blue and we chatted a bit.

HAHA I just saw the thread about how 4FRNT has the worst durability, and then this one...........Mixed feedback

so he gave you a card to give you a discount thats more than 90% of proform prices offered by other companies?

what a guy!

lol i love the i hate 4frnt, 4frnt is amazing threads...

but on a serious note

we need more companies like this, companies where the people come out, and just chill

haha word. him and ralphie P stopped by my shop last night as well. He told me he was gunna be coming through but i thought he was joking. A man of his word he is.

I was just saying that is why she thinks she can act that way... her looks. Said nothing about her skiing. That you are correct about, she has been left in the dust by Ash B, Kaya T, etc

I do like the smaller companies where the owners are out in the field and the riders have a say in the operations... I think that is pretty core even if the products can't always compete with some of the major corporations.

no, i have the same card, and the 45% comes off of retail, not wholesale. Normally proform discount is more than that. The percent off may be less but its coming off of wholesale which is way less to begin with. Idk y but thats how 4frnt does there proforms.

sterbenz is from the same part of wisconsin i grew up in (ski the mot!), and while i haven't ever talked with him, everyone who grew up riding with him has nothing but good things to say about him. he is such an unassuming guy he doesn't even have a wikipedia entry!

sidebar: the 4frnt offices are in this industrial park type place in s. salt lake, near the water tower. i was half lost back there one day and just stumbled upon it, and i wondered why they were in that part of town.

Yeah, I love stealing my brother's MSPs. They're so sick, I might think of getting some for just all-mountain. So fun to haul ass on.

Yeah, but fuck Salomon. Aren't they owned by people in France?

I'd rather support a grass-roots U.S.A. company, even if their skis aren't made here, they still started up here.
