New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

Bigger level and trees are in. You might have to clear your cache to see it. http://www.imakewebsites.ca/flash/flashskigame/ Tree collisions and revised flipping speeds are coming next. Grabs, arms on the skier and other little graphical things will come later once I figure out how much...

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

Flips and Lincolns are in, although you can get away with landing on your head for now. There is a switch stance in there for the skier. Might be too subtle. Maybe giving it arms would help? http://www.imakewebsites.ca/flash/flashskigame/ Let me know if it still runs smoothly. I'm going to try...

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

I liiiiiikeeee Flips/lincolns are partway in the game, should have them working within the next day. I'll try to have a larger level in the next release also. I want to see how big I can make this without people's computers chugging. I like the idea of zooming out to see all your tracks. I'm...

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

Sweet jesus! You remember that? That one is going to stay on hold for now. I'm having a lot more fun working on and playing with this idea. Moving to the overhead view lets me fake the physics with some really simple math which makes the game run much faster with large levels - that was the big...

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

When you get in the air, a little round shadow should appear to the top left of the skier. It will get closer to the skier as you get closer to the ground. I guess I can make it bigger/darker so it is more noticeable. Thanks for trying it out everyone!

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

I'm running into some wacky issue where if I revisit the game in Internet Explorer without clearing my cache the level doesn't scroll up with the skier. I'll figure it out tomorrow. Flips, grabs, trees and a whole bunch of other stuff are on the to do list.

New ski game, inspired by the TGR Tracks game

http://www.imakewebsites.ca/flash/flashskigame/ Give'r a go and let me know how it runs. On PC, IE 6 seems faster than Firefox. Can someone on a Mac tell me if it runs smoothly in Safari? I'm hoping this works well on most people's computers so I can start adding more stuff in.

Dont ever become a ski instructer

Don't teach tourists if you can't deal with cold people. Find a way to teach local kids and get the same group over and over again so you can actually see progression over the course of the season. It makes a huge difference. The downside is when you get one kid you can't stand, you'll have...

SIA deems Twin-Tip skis the "Single largest adult ski category" for 2007.08 season.

I think my family rides the whole 2000/2001 Dynastar lineup. I still ride the Concepts, my mom and sister share a pair of Snaps, my dad has his own Snaps in a longer length, and then I bought the original Candides last winter. YEAHR TWINTIPS!!

Anyone commute to school via bike?

Biking to school is awesome. Really wakes you up in the morning and gets you in shape for skiing if you do nothing else. I used to do about 3 miles in 20 minutes each way and loved it. Bring a not sweaty shirt to wear in school though.

    New ski boot company??

I've heard boots are the most expensive piece of gear to produce, something like $100,000 for the molds just for one size of model of boot. People can build skis in their garage, and bindings seem to take a much smaller investment - Line could afford to try it, and every once in a while some guy...

    Oh Noes! Another Hellbent thread!

I'm 5'6, 115 pounds. I tried out 179cm Hellbents for a few runs. Best ski ever in the pow/crud, but they were way to big for me to ride in the park. I couldn't jump and spin a 180 off flat ground with them while I can do 270s with my 165cm park skis. I wish I could have tried the 169s...

    WTB: 169 BENTS

I'm 5'6 and weigh 115. I tried the 179s for a few runs. Best thing ever in powder and crud, not horrible on groomed snow, but they are heavy. I could barely pop a 180 on them without a jump, and I can usually do 270s on my 165-170cm park skis. I think 169 would work for someone looking for that...
