This coverage would only cover the tiniest portion of your costs if you get injured. For example last year the average ambulance ride cost alone for the skiers getting hurt at XGames was over 4000.00, the top "pro level plan" on this XSI thing would only cover 250.00 of that cost. If you got hurt and needed surgery, the money this plan pays out would not even be a drop in the bucket compared to your actual costs. This is not anything close to full medical coverage, not by a long shot.

just to clarify, and not to take anything away from the company, but just an FYI for anyone interested. This is not a replacement for health insurance. This is ACCIDENT insurance. For example, my current health care insurance has an additional, accident insurance option that will pay the first $1000 of my deductable if I am hurt in an accident. This type of insurance will not cover the flu, pneunomia, or anything that does not occur because of an accident. It's still a great idea and is quite pertanent to any action sports, but do not drop your health insurance and solely pick this up.

Just because XSI didn't pay to have this article up doesn't mean it's not advertising. What's next, an in depth interview on Jimbo Morgan's new XTREME health smoothies that are going to revolutionize the sport of skiing? This is an effing joke. This man does not deserve "respect" for trying to cash in on some insurance scam marketed towards XXXTREME athletes

by the way jdub. have you ever met Jimbo? Because it sounds like you clearly have not. Jimbo is anything but "money hungry". He's such a good guy and really important player in the ski industry. jdub is clearly uninformed.

again, what is the point of having this so called "accident plan" if it covers only a tiny fraction of the costs when you have an accident???? doesn't make sense.

Yup, I've lost all faith in the ski industry. Don't be fooled kids. Do some research.

you're right, i do not know jimbo. i also did not know many public figures that i (and we all) hold opinions about. jimbo is a public enough figure in this industry that i have gotten to 'know' him through his career and i personally think he is kinda sleezy. im finishing my MA in brand development...which is exactly what we are talking about here. a former skullcandy guy gets involved in a new 'nothing special' brand and goes back to jimbo to do what they did at skullcandy; take something old and generic and exploit the image. why would they go to jimbo and why would it pop up here...publicity and networking. its a simple equation. you are not gonna change my opinion by reminding me that i have not physically met him. no hate...i just personally see a lot of 'insider' work in the story and dont support it.

^You're right. I was confusing this with actual health insurance, and this seems to be a supplemental option rather than a full plan.

I need to get more learned about this stuff.

Somebody needs to give this jdub guy a hug. What a total hater. Because some guy was offered a job or wants to spread a little love you just start whining and complaining like a little bitch. What have you done for the ski industry jdub? Jimbo started the factory Freeride team at K2. Brought Sessions, Electric and Skullcandy to the dance and you rip on this like it's a game. Well jdub, until you do something special and give back I would shut the F up before someone finds out who you actually are and shuts you up.
