Base it at Grouse mountain or the other Van-city one. The sponsors and companies that could potentially benefit most should fund it. SET UP YOUR OWN DAMN HALFPIPE EVENT DURING THE WINTER OLYMPICS in 2010. PUBLICIZE LIKE IT'S THE SECOND COMING OF CHRIST...anything NON-olympics will be catchy. DRAW THOUSANDS OF PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER. SHOW THE EXECS WHAT DEMAND THERE IS. If it works, you get a free ticket into 2014. If it doesn't, the sport doesn't warrant being an event, and everyone just chill and go eat some peanut butter.

and doug, skiing will survive with or without Olympics. newschooling may change, insurance companies may shut down the sport but skiing will survive, and BC will always be there (until the world melts). The only other problem is FIS and spin to win and the bullshit of no style.
