X-Games Slope Discussion

after the first round of qualis it looks like the judging is fucked in typical X-games fashion haha.

Evan and ABM breaking into the 90's though, I think this is Evan's year.
 
Goeppers reaction to getting a borderline qualification score for a triple cork was hilarious.

The judging has been as questionable as ever, but it's good to see that they're not rewarding pointless spinning though. Goeppers run had nothing else, especially in the rails.

It's literally all rails this year. IMO it's quite a nice change, woodsy's rail section was great.

Shows how hard commentating can be at the same time. Walking calling ABM's double flat a double cork and a switch double misty a double bio (that one could go either way I guess).

I'm loving the Wallisch/LVV combo though. Best x games commentary ever?
 
What do u guys think about the rainbow rails? I think they are a good idea for a park but not for Slopestyle. Everyone was just barely tapping the rail and not actually locking onto it.
 
Its great that the judges want to reward creativity and style but this is a contest where runs have to be compared to one another and it just creates horrible inconsistency. Worst Judging I've ever seen. I've always thought it's lame that dew tour and xgames and all AFP contests for that matter are far more concerned with perfection than progression. The judges literally scare athletes into doing easier runs they know they can do perfect rather than go for broke and do something no ones seen before. It sucks that the judges dictate progression more than the athletes do by deciding what is good and what is bad. Wallisch with some subtle callouts on some of the judging though haha. TAFT is my new favorite contest
 
honestly would not want to be a judge, everyone in the top 10 had a wild run. that said i respectfully think andri ragettli was super underscored. crisp rails, solid grabs, switch dub misty and a perfect triple? only thing you could fault him on was barely not clearing over the flat on a disaster switch 2. i also thought goepper didn't quite get the score he deserved. that said i think everyone who deserved to advance did make it.

side note, fuck yea woodsy! nicest guy with a unique style getting rewarded for it.

Ik this is the slope discussion, but is anyone else watching the snowmobile-cross? This shit is hilarious, they've had to restart twice because they all keep crashing on the first turn

hes really good and on point to listen too. may have messed up a couple tricks but who wouldnt.

why is he not competing did I miss something?

oh and im so not excited for that field. every single skier other than mcrae has the same stock ass, hoodie all the time, mute grab to tail grab bullshit style. so boring to watch. ya big tricks but none of them look like they enjoy skiing.

I was like whoever is doing the play-by-play commentating is extraordinary. This dude reeeeeeally knows his stuff. Then found out it was Wally. Makes sense.

All respect to Uncle E and the Godfather, but damn Luke VV and Wallisch make a good team.

Aren't some of the jumps permanent? Like didn't they do groundwork in the summer to build the landings so they need less snow in the winter? I think they did but I'm not sure.
 
teh judges r fucked completly. geopper did a tripple and got a shitty score, like wtf. his rails were the best out of all the riders (personally what i think and what u all do to). the judges are so fucking stupid giving woodsy a 91.00, like wtf we see the same shit from him every year, evan had a okay run but it doesnt dserve a 90.00, like wtf, 2015 x games were the shit. good judges and good riders. dub 10's and 9's were scored low if u ask me. now its like back to 2009 x games were that was a hard trick. and wtf happend to harlaut, he has no hard work in his blood. all he does is hang with phil casabon and smoke weed. i think he should change teams and go to line. everyone is hard working and actually care about there carrer's.

Couple guys stomped but still 74 is 9th ha same thing happened last night at pipe, everyone fell.

I agree. Grab all the way through, stomped the landing. Hope something shows like that on the ski side. Pretty certain it won't be a US skier. The US Snowboard side so much further along.
