i think there must be a real reeson here- lolo would be in the first wave of invites for pipe and slope for sure and prob big air as well-...

do you really forget about last year when this little-known guy named PEP FUJAS got an invite pretty much last-minute? i agree, Lolo ought to be invited, but take it easy- there's still plenty of time.

The selections this year were based on past competition results. Lots of people weren't too happy with the invite list last year where skiers were chosen based on video segments and other performances as well as their contest results.

So we basically created our own little points system with all major contests from last year.

Its actually pretty fair that way... although I still stand by the Pep/Andy call last year. I thought that was fucking sick.

i heard he wanted to be better and has been working at it, it showed him fooling around in one in yeah dude.

Funny story

last year after x games he was skiing meadows pipe, and cut some dumbass off that was in his way, the guy freaks out at him and starts telling him he sucks and then sammys like actually i got second in the x games and the guy starts callling him a liar, and sammys just like look it up.

Pretty sick list I think. There are obviously a lot more people who should be invited but the second wave is coming.

yeah where's the footy i wanna see

I think if Andreas puts some more stylie tricks and bigger amplitude he should win because he's got so many difficult tricks in his bag with style and difficulty he should win by far - i also want to see how Xavier Bertoni and Kevin Rolland do

"Sammy Carlson, Oakley’s hottest young ripper has been hanging out with

Tanner the last few weeks and it shows. Carlson more known as a park /

jibber kid, has been busting huge flat spin 540s and sick 900s out of

the pipe"

wtf! Mike Riddle NOT in pipe? He better be in the 2nd wave of invites. Does anyone know if tanners doing slope?

i know candide got injured but maybe because they are running on a points system getting first in slopestyle and not entering in anything else wasnt enough? if not then that sucks, candide would've probably ripped it if he was fully recovered.

Stop dreaming about Candide being at the X. His injury was pretty hard, on a pretty massive jump. He was lucky to walk again. His rehas took some time, and he's just beginning to ski again. He won't go big as before, at least for some time. And that fall made him think a bit, I heard he's going more for the backcountry, shooting for videos and less for competitions.

Anyway, Candide is Candide and he will always surprise us so who knows.

So what halfpipe comp results does someone like sammy or xavier have that puts them ahead of people with solid halfpipe results like candide, matt hayward, taylor felton, etc.?

jesus dude read the whole thread before you post... candide isn't competing because of his injury.. its been said like a million times so far?

Whaaaaa, why don't you cry about it? Ok take candides name out of the post then, you happy now? Still doesn't change the message, but hey, way to distract from the point.

If it was really all about comp results, then guys with solid consistent pipe results like felton, hayward, stefan thomas, etc. would have been in the pipe event before guys like gagnier, carlsen, bertoni, etc.

dude xavier bertoni own pipe, he won the nz open didnt he?? and killed every comp in europe he entered.

and didnt sammy end up 3rd in european pipe 2 years ago???

dude get your facts straight

Tell you what, put up sammy and xaviers results over the last season, look at where they came from, then compare them to thomas, felton, and hayward.

When you're done, feel free to talk about getting facts straight...

NZ Open? European Open from 2 years ago? You really think those events have the depth of field that Honda Ski Tours and WSI have? At least half of the X-Games fields are absent from NZ and Euro Open, whereas 95% of the X-Games field did the ski tour last year, and most of them also did WSI.

When sammy or xavier get a result in a full field pipe event with guys like riddle, dumont, hatviet, etc. competing, then it will hold a little more weight.

Xavier is one of the best pipe skier, he,s way better than Hayward and Stefan. He probably got the best pipe run ever, He's probably goanna get a podium

I know how good he is, that's not the point. The point is he doesn't have a result yet from an event with the big guns there.

Look at the top 3 from NZ Open, notice the lack of big names? Shit, other than Jossi, hardly any of the top pipe skiers were there.

I agree that he's sick, but he hasn't posted a result in a comp where all the best guys were competing, and those other guys were competing against all the big names all season and doing well.
