X Games 2014

Yeah that's what I'm talking about, Wise! Pipe skiing has gotten a lot more boring now that there aren't any skiers who can consistently challenge David, but how can you not root for the guy to win? He just seems like such a nice and hard working dude. Congrats!

Damn Alex was stoked on that final run, it was pretty sick considering it got him on the podium. Dorey definitely took some big hits, hope he's doing alright after those!

We've established that I'm an idiot a few posts up. Although, some of the more hardcore bible bashers in the world are only game when it comes to baby making. Although, explaining to your child one day that X-Games gold medals (or Olympic gold medals) are how babies come about, might be a pretty awesome experience.

Damn...

Anyways, I'm actually pretty hyped after taking in the pipe runs. Like, all of those guys had pretty damn clean looking runs, well grabbed, nicely tweaked. Something really refreshing about watching that.

Wise is by far the best pipe skier out there. Not sure how eheath can argue torin. But wise absolutely destroyed it tonight. That run was insane.

Apparently Wise has more in store for Sochi (word on the street is switch dub right 10), but I'm not sure that he needs it. Outclassed everyone out there tonight. Torin and Kevin could possibly challenge but nobody else rides the pipe as well, and by that I mean actually skiing it, not the tricks. Dude went 20 out on a switch hit...

On a side note, noah bowman's qualification run was the second dopest run of x games pipe, better than rolland in finals in my estimation, though the two would have been close. Def better than Ferreira (who skied great).

Wise scored an imo underrated 92 on the last run. Watch it here:

The commentators said that Torin's managers and coaches begged him not to compete last night, because of the still injured ribs he's nursing. Probably smart since we all know that TYW always insists on (as one NS member put it last time he got injured) "ignoring his coaches' advice and launching into fucking orbit" on every hit.

To be honest I don't understand why Gus keeps trying to do the double flat spin 10. He's been doing it for 3 years now, and he can't land it consistently, He probably only lands it 20% of the times he tries it. Why not just learn a different right wall double?

I also agree that Riddle got robbed.

I wan't to give huge credit to Rolland. Both his dub 10 and 12 were 20 feet above the deck, just insane.

I'm suspecting the Olympic gold will be between him and Wise.

Also it's a shame that Toto had to pull out of the finals. He landed the first dub 14 in practice earlier. The only other who tried that is Torin and David, but none of them has made it yet.

Here's a video of it:

torin made finals, but pulled out.

Wise dominated. I think he's gonna pull something ridiculous at the Olympics and do a run of 4 dubs and a 10, or something like that.

Rolland has to step it up if he wants to compete, his run wasn't as clean as Wise's, and his doubles were only on one wall. His tricks off the left wall were weak.

I agree with the announcers about Gus, maybe he'd have a chance at winning something if he didn't go to all three events. Props to him though, he slays and he looks like he's having loads of fun.

It makes sense to me that Ferreira bumped riddle out, he did do a left dub 12 and a right down the pipe dub flat, along with a switch right hit. whereas riddle had the 2 left side dubs 1 unnatural hit in the entire run and it was a cork 9.

Just look at Gus second run. Flawless, every grab held 'til forever, landing high up on the wall and boostin' out of the pipe every hit. He's said before that the only time he dedicates por pipe practice is on damn competition day, and for a guy that practices that little he's really good. God know what he would come up with if he was just a pipe skier.

That round would've land him in a podium spot, and he seem to have plenty of room for another hit after that double ten, maybe a switch right ten.

He's the fucking man and he deserves a major win, we all know that.

Just came to post this. Everyone needs to watch snowboard slope right now. Parrot's run was so next level and stomped. Everyone else in the comp just shit themselves. The level that these guys ride at isn't even the same sport anymore that pretty much everyone else who calls themselves a snowboarder is doing.
