I myself can't stand wrestlers, but that's really unfortunate about the wife and kid, especially where the kid had his whole life ahead of him, not to mention they probably died for no reason at all

Since all three were found dead at the same time, I'm guessing they died from UNNATURAL causes. Thats something special. You are right, people do die everyday and thats fine if its old age and shit, but this incident could very likely be murder. Seriously the way America pines over celebrities makes me ill. It's life, lives end all day. Yeah, sad, a kid died. How many kids are dying all over the world due to far more sinister negligence? Nobody seems upset about that, but when a wrestler dies, oh snap the gloves come off and its hardcore emo crying time. Lets all wear black bandanas and listen to dashboard for a week until the next American idol is voted in and we forget all about that poor schmuck from last week.
 
No it won't, You just think that because you never hear about what goes on around the world. If you honestly think that every family of three being murdered will make the news, then your access to information is obviously equal to that of sweaty gooch scum. I rest my case.
 
or the mass public tends to pick celebrities to relate to or idolize. When thier lives are being shown on TV some people feel like they almost know them. then when that celebrity dies it is broadcasted for many reasons. maybe the news feels some obligation to let people know a public figure has died, but the main reasons are 1. people love to watch gruesome news and 2. since the news knows people get attached to celebrities they know a lot of people will watch the news when they release a story like this.

This was covered for one reason. MONEY. money for the news companies. and yes, because he is not equal to us. a regular joe dying is not going to bring in tons of viewers. unless that regular joe, becomes irregular and is killed in some amazingly gruesome and graphic way, he is nothing to the news.
 
a family of 3 doesnt turn up dead every day man so when it happens it tends to stir the pot and make the news.... i dont know what candy land news you watch but every day i sit down and hear about kids being shot and stabbed, domestic violence, murder, rape, drugs, guns, you name it.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ga. -- WWE wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and son were found dead Monday, and police said they were investigating the deaths as a murder-suicide.

Pro wrestler Chris Benoit, his wife and 7-year-old son were found dead in their Georgia home.

Lt. Tommy Pope of the Fayette County Sheriff's Department said the three were found at their home about 2:30 p.m.

Pope said autopsies on Benoit, his wife Nancy, and 7-year-old son Daniel were scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday. It could be weeks before there is a result.

Benoit had missed several appointments over the weekend, leading some concerned parties to ask police to do a "welfare check," Pope told ABC News. The WWE reported on its Web site on Monday night that friends received several curious text messages sent by Benoit early Sunday morning, prompting VP of Government Relations for WWE, Inc. Richard Hering to contact Fayette County sheriffs on Monday and request they check on Benoit and his family. When sheriffs arrived at the home, they found the wrestler, his wife and their son dead.

Detective Bo Turner told television station WAGA also said that the case was being treated as a murder-suicide, but he said that couldn't be confirmed until evidence was examined by a crime lab.

The station said that investigators believe the 40-year-old Benoit killed Nancy, 43, and Daniel over the weekend, then himself on Monday. The bodies were found in three rooms.

According to Pope, there were no signs of gunshot wounds or stabbing. Authorities are not ruling out other causes, such as poisoning, suffocation or strangulation.

"The details, when they come out are going to prove a little bizarre," said Fayette County District Attorney Scott Ballard, according to The Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

Pope told ABC News "the instruments of death were located on scene," but would not specify what those instruments are or where in the house the bodies were found. Pope added the department is "not actively searching for any suspects outside of the house."

The house is in a secluded neighborhood set back about 60 yards off a gravel road, surrounded by stacked stone wall and a double-iron gate. On Monday night, the house was dark except for a few outside lights. There was a police car in front, along with two uniformed officers.

Benoit was a former world heavyweight champion, Intercontinental champion and held several tag-team titles over his career.

"WWE extends its sincerest thoughts and prayers to the Benoit family's relatives and loved ones in this time of tragedy," the federation said in a statement on its Web site.

Benoit was scheduled to perform at the "Vengeance" pay-per-view event Sunday night in Houston, but was replaced at the last minute because of what announcer Jim Ross called "personal reasons."

Benoit, a Canadian native, maintained a home in metro Atlanta from the time he wrestled for the defunct World Championship Wrestling.

The WWE canceled its live "Monday Night RAW" card in Corpus Christi, Texas, and USA Network aired a three-hour tribute to Benoit in place of the scheduled wrestling telecast.

"My relationship with Chris has extended many years and I consider him a great friend," Carl DeMarco, the president of WWE Canada, said in a statement. "Chris was always first-class -- warm, friendly, caring and professional -- one of the best in our business."

I was listening to the news this mourning and police were leaning towards a murder suicide. Please have sympathy for the deceased and their families.
 
The people saying that by giving condolences and being respectful towards him and his family for what happened is wrong because we are placing them higher than everyone else, shut the fuck up. We are doing if ANYONE would have this happen. Shit, so what if I never knew them. If you had a death in the family, or even a friend, I'd give you my sincere thoughts and prayers. YOU are the ones treating him differently. YOU are treating him like he's less human because he was successful and of what he did. He entertained people, he was good at it, and got paid. It's pathetic at how immature you little shit heads are towards realizing that it doesn't matter if your famous or not.

CNN just said that the cops have announced that Benoit killed his wife, smothered his kid, and then killed himself.
