There have been many many threads on this and yes apperantly he isnt skiing with poles. and i do think it looks like shit but it is his choice.

I have seen tons of people pull it off. It's sort of like playing guitar I think. People that can really slay can slay with any guitar, cheap or spendy, nice or pawnshop.

People that can really slay can do it with or without poles.
 
i would really like to see you ski before you bash someone who is super sick at skiing and likes to have fun with or without poles. oh sorry my bad, im pretty sure you are way better then kye, i saw your 3min segments in all ski movies.

everybody who says kye is lame and that there are better younger skiiers should really consider fucking themselves as far as i'm concerned.
 
whoever is bashing skiing with no poles really has to stop and take a look at what the sport really is... FREEskiing. ie. being able to freely do whatever you want on 2 sticks, thats what its all about
 
who am i bashing? no one. i just said i think that i like my poles, i just wanted to find out what he was doing beacause i see so many different shots of him, and i dont really hate i just never really liked his style, no offense.

I stated this in the other thread, Kye may be able to do a variety of tricks, but they look awful. He flails everywhere. I think no poles is fun to do, but it isn't about no poles that makes his style awful, its that his style is awful with or without.
 
kye invented a new trick in show and prove i think... its called freestyle stroke.. no wait thats just his arms flailing everywhere.. that was lame but point is set.
 
I agree with Holson. He flails everywhere when he's skiing. Also, with the comment you made about his movie sections, that doesn't have a lot to do with his skill, but rather who he knows and in this case its tanner hall. Tanner rainville's section was shorter than kye's. Does that make Kye better than Tanner Rainville?
 
you are right...its all about who you know. oh wait, i know tanner and im not in his movie. come on. its his fucking ability level that made tanner and the crew choose him to be in their movie. kye didnt show up at tanners house begging for a part. they either asked him to be in their movie, or told him he had too, or theyd cut his balls off. some shit like that.

and everyone talking about how his arms are flailing....why arent you in his position? are you too smooth for your own good? do you never flail....at all? EP is smoother than anyone, and he flails...we all flail. jealously turns to anger. anger turns to whack ass replies, making this a whack ass site. maybe thats why im so angry right now...im jealous i cant hate the kid for no reason, except for the fact thats hes a sick skier....

i know you were adressing someone else, but i think that's why some movies suck. people be handin out all the banger shots in the teaser. a few money shots work well enough, but i think if your movie is really worth people dropping more than 10 bucks on, you should be able to have SOME b footy that's still dope to use in the trailer to keep bangers for the actual movie to have kids bein all 'holy shit!'.

but eh, most people who make movies disagree with that.
 
yea i never honestly liked him there are kids his age way better that arnt getting noticed we all kno why he was noticed (his dad's death) i mean he is good but for as much exposure as he gets he deff isint anything special.
 
I agree, if you want to not use poles then dont uses poles, why the fuck should I care what he is doing. It is called freestyle skiing which translates to do whatever the hell you want to. Kye is just doing whatever the hell he feels like and not using poles. If someone doesnt think that no poles looks good then they should use poles.
 
still, dont be bugging on Kye because of flailing because he is trying something new and i think that 99.99% of the site has never been in a ski movie and he is.
 
i dont care that he uses no poles but, i think his style is really ugly. ive never seen a shot of him where he doesnt flail
 
you are stupid, no poles is fun, and if you dont flail with poles ur not gunna flail without them. People like Andy make it look so sick, I like no poles, i just dont chose to do it, I simply dont like kytes style.

But yeah, he can ski however he wants to, and if you guys could wait for the real movie to come, then i can see these threads coming up. But not now. His segment could portray his skiing in a very different way. His style cannot be totally represented in a few seconds worth of skiing. I'm not saying that i'm fan of him on those rails, personlly, i thought it was pretty ugly, but you have to give him the benefit of the doubt. We can discuss his style when Show and Prove comes out so we have more shots to study.
 
how did his flailing no poles regular slide of that easy urban handrail make the last shot in that teaser? I really hope the bigger picture movie is going to be better than the teaser.
 
like i once knew this guy that used poles then didnt use poles and i was all liek omg omg that is not how u ski and he was like omg i know and then there was like an awkward silence so big u could split it in half and like like have jewish people cross throung it to be like free like omg then we went skiing together lawl lawl lawl
 
i wouldnt be surprised if he just made his part in the teaser of him w/ out poles. he skis w/ poles mostly, but in all the movies hes been in, theres shots of him messin around w/ out poles.

i know kye is a super sick skier but his shots in the trailer really were not fun to watch. im sure he has better stuff in the movie.

and now, the no poles subject. yes, it is FREEskiing. yes, you can do what you want as long as its fun. unfortunately when youre filming for movies that cost 30 dollars each, the objective is not to have fun, it is to put together sick shots for people to watch, after they PAY for it. i think no poles looks retarded and there is no reason to NOT hold poles in your hands when youre filming and not piss off half the people who watch your movie.

The objective of s ski film is to CAPTURE what skiers do best, have fun. If you get into skiing and making videos for the $$$ your an idoit, and will not be successful, people do it cause they love it.

I agree some do it to impress their peers, and ya those guys are douche bags.
