Honestly like all of tahoe.
Chuck full of transplants that move here and proceed to bitch about the housing crisis, tech bros buying houses, traffic and lines at the resorts.....while somehow not realizing they are the exact issue they are screaming at the sky about. Seen it happen to a couple of my friends that moved up there and its absolutely hilarious.
The people I know that grew up here are all chill and used to it. They spend a good amount of time laughing at the people mentioned above.
Once you know who to look for and ignore the dipshits the vibes are immaculate.

Honestly southern utah really sucks rn. I had a good crew going at Brian Head but they all left up north for Brighton and Alta and now Im stuck with everyone from Vegas and Southern Cali that come to Utah for the "greatest snow on earth". I bet ive been asked around 5 times if my Vishnu Wides (beads go brrrrrr) are cultural appropriation and shit. Gets annoying really, really fast.
On the brightside, there is a rail jam next week and whoever can come down and throw a 2 on and maybe a switch lip to switch could win an easy pair of vokyls, the park crew sucks down here so I never even try at their jams, but this year looks good and there is nobody down here who would be any competition.

Ruby hill vibes are actually pretty good. Yeah there’s some dudes drinking beers but most people at least try features and are super friendly/stoked.

Saw a group of shithead kids spark a blunt in a crowded lift line of most foul smelling mid I’ve ever smelled. Hella Karens somehow end up in the mix. Lifties paying zero attention to any of this… literally the Woodstock ‘99 of ski resorts.

Taos has some of the best terrain I've ever skiied and cool vibes from other skiers but big thumbs down to the ownership and FWT qualifiers keeping Kachina closed for 5 days. I'd be pissed if I had a pass here for 2 grand and they pulled that. Everyone working at the hill is on a crazy power trip.
The owner and like 20 of his friends closed it for themselves last Saturday when there was fresh snow and this week its been closed for a FWT qualifier. Every run I saw was super lame until the one where the guy fucked himself up bad and almost died. He was doing such a sick run noone else went far skiiers left into the rock pile he did and then for some dumb reason threw a 3 into a rocky tight chute.
I've always had the main FWT on the highest of pedestals and the pinnacle of competitive sports and had no clue this was going on so was annoyed when the lift was comp only. I did poach twice successfully but I almost got my pass pulled the third time.

Probably the best inbounds skiing on the planet other than that though. Its like a better Alta or Snowbird (head to head with one of them not both.)
