World's finest powder?

utah snow weighs nothing, europe snow is deep as fuck, japan is too expencive for most people to know anything about... hard to beat east coast pow though, when it's here is good

Better terrain, yes, but im afraid you yanks have us beat on the "deep as fuck snow" section most of the time.

Utah claiming it hard. hahaha

= not the world finest powder. People can't even legit argue that their snow is better than utah or montana.

To all those people claiming Utah is the best, what other pow experience do you guys have? Just saying it's hard to claim #1 if you've only skied pow at one spot.

Ive skied pow in idaho, washington, oregon, montana, wyoming, whistler, colorado and utah, i've never skied tahoe but the fact they refer to their powder as "cement" gives me a good enough clue. Utah and montana were the best, wyoming is in there too. Rocky mountains son.

Utah gets 7.83% water density snow from December through March. They also get almost 400 inches of snow during those 4 months, which doesn't include the other 200 inches they get from October-November and April-May. You cannot beat 7.83%!!!

Northwest(timberline and meadows), whistler, CO, idaho, montana, should i even mention east coast resorts? Its not on our license plates for nothing bro

Keeping this thread from being worthless and Claiming hard bro

Ps that chick on the license plate could run gates switch and still be waiting for almost all of yous at the finish line

Gotta love the Cascade Concrete. I yearn for those cold days where the snow just flies over my head. Whenever we get those days, I think about how nice it must be to consistantly have snow that dry.

well i'm from argentina. i've been skiing for 19 years so far, i skied almost every mountain here in the andes, on the argentinian side, then i skied for 3 season in europe in austria, switzerland and france (THE ALPS) and i worked a couple of seasons on the east coast (vt and NH) and finally last season i spend it in utah and let me tell you for the whooole pow skiing i had in my life, there is no comparison. utah has the best pow, europe the best mountains.

i really want to ski utah- everything i hear is that the snow is just ridiculous down there. however.... you all do know where the term "cold smoke" originated, right?

Last 4 seasons...average.

Alta/Snowbird - 2007/2008 701.5"

Alta/Snowbird - 2006/2007 401.5"

Alta/Snowbird - 2005/2006 637.5"

Alta/Snowbird - 2004/2005 697.5"

701.5 + 401.5 + 637.5 + 697.5 = 2 438

2438 / 4 = 609.5

The good places do

I've been around the powder block a bit to FWIW

i was told Russia has the best powder because of the constant temperatures and the water droplet sizes its something to do with it never gets to a temp where it can thaw and its like skiing in a indoor place with air-conditioning but the powders so light its mad, then its japan i think again its something to do with the temperature and the type of snow you get ?

to this day i stilll havent had a nice facial of SNOW . still waiting for that chance to come lets come over xmas break while i am in utah

Colorado and Utah have snow with only like 5% water content. Light and awesome, and it kicks the pants off of any resort in Europe.

When the weather is right, below 20 degrees, the lake effect powder at Holiday Valley is pretty nice. Too bad the terrain is non-existent.

Considering all I have skied is the PNW's powder, I'd have to say BC has so pretty fucking good stuff.

GROUSE MOUNTAIN FTW

Keep your fingers crossed bro, it looks like its setting up like last year, which means LOTS of snow, but CB is pretty hit or miss. Lots of times we get missed when others get hit, but others we get pounded when no one else does.

when the snow is good its nearly as light as Utah pow

Everybody is saying Utah is the shit, but SW CO is just as legit when the snow is there.

whistler and tahoe are heavy, idaho is sick when you get a lot, utah is amazing, europe is usually super sick if you get a lot of snow, and when you get a dump ec pow can be great
