Windell, COC, Momentum decider

For progression purposes (not sickest tramp or fome pit) where would the best place to go be?

I know there has probably been a ton of these but i just want to know is Windells the place to go because you can progress at skiing the most or known for skating and everything else?

progression at COC is entirely up to you. you can learn as much, or as little as you want. anything you want to learn, just ask and they'll teach it to you. So if you want to learn a bunch of tricks you have in mind, you will.

because the canadian dollar and the us dollar are close it is not as cheap to go to canada as it used to be

it doesnt matter where you go, its all up to you and how much effort you want to give. if you have the drive you can learn a lot at any of these camps.

K well yeah progression is up to the rider but i guess to rephrase it... is windells an opportune place to learn shit...Is everything legit and do you get multiple tries that you need to learn something new (whatever the fuck it is). Some places come off as a lot of hiking for a little bit of skiing and than you pack it early to go dick around off the snow.

your going to learn the more at Windells and with the snow pack 380% above normal its going to be sick. We skied Hood the last two days and the pow pow was waist high and as good as it gets.

to me hiking is a bigger learning expierience. the thing about windells is that you can session a feature forever until you get the trick you wanter to learn instead of just lapping the park. I havent been to windells but i went to momentum last year to see whats up and all the camps looked legit as hell, whistler is just an incredible place, all in all the expierience will be amazing.

Progression at Momentum is simply amazing. The camp is focused on helping you progress. They have full range of jumps from 5 to 75 feet to allow you to take your tricks from one size to the next. Unlike other camps, almost all of these jumps are step-ups or step-overs designed to eliminate the risk and fear that comes with trying new tricks on a 30 foot step-down and the potential of dropping to your spine. You know you will be safe. This confidence is aided by the on mountain airbag and wateramps which Momentum regularly frequents as well as the Olympic trampoline in the back of the hotel. At all of these features you will be coached not only by professional skiers but also by Jeremy Cooper - a licensed instructor in all three disciplines and coach to many freestyle skiers. These three tools enable you to make the safe and easy transition from the trampoline to wateramps to airbag and to snow on a full range of perfectly shaped yet safe jumps. Further, unlike other camps where the coaches are just there as figureheads, waiting to receive a paycheck or film their next segment, the coaches at Momentum are not just amazing skiers but they are as their title says - coaches. They stay with your group the entire day consistently giving you helpful and positive advice and tips. If ever you have a question about a trick they will readily answer it and will also perform it for you as a demonstration. The coaches are there to help you. They don't just lap the jumps rather, for example, when the group is hitting a jump the coach will wait at the knuckle of the jump to act as knole master and both ensure no one gets hurt and advise you on your trick. I've seen Frank Raymond wait with a camper for 45 minutes as the camper hiked a downrail trying to get 2 pretzel 2. Each attempt Frank cheered and advised and was perhaps more enthusiastic than the camper when the trick was finally landed. But Frank wasn't just content with one landing, he urged the camper to go back up and get the trick again to build muscle memory and know that he had the trick down. In the realm of Progression, no other camp compares to Momentum.

Windells is sick for progression if you are really pushing yourself but if you don't push yourself you won't progress no matter where you go. But Windells is mad fun too.

I woukd advise you to go to momentum. I know the vibes are great and that progression is also top notch.

anywhere you go the progression is up to you. i have personally gone to windells and they have all sorts of features to learn tricks on and then bigger ones to get your tricks down on. they also had an airbag last summer and probably will again this summer. they also have an off hill airbag and rail setup. they are all set up to progress a ton you just have to want to go for it

I've been to all the camps, and if you go to any of them you will progress no matter what. But if you want the most progression for your money's worth then I would go to Windells. Go to one of the later sessions like 6 or 7 so it isn't crowed at all, and with the rope tow's they have you can make super quick laps and learn so much!!

if you want to progress the most id say got to COC. No other camp helps you with tricks more, plus u get alot more time on snow than other camps.

This is true but its only a race camp, mogul camp and a very very small freestyle camp. The mogul an race camps are also off the hill by 11:30 or so everyday so their presence is minimal and the T-Bar is usually empty. I'm unaware of Windell's lift situation but I know COC uses Whistler's public T-Bar which is usually extremely crowded due to the public park, Dave Murray Ski and Snowboard Camp, another Race Camp and the large size of COC.

Windells has rope tows so you are going to get a lot more runs in. This is better because you have more runs to learn tricks and you don't get as tired.
